The Gleam Renaissance Rackett consort and Turkish Medieval/Renaissance singer- Ozan Karagöz perform - “Ave Maris Stella” by Orlando di Lasso (1532-1594)
Ave Maris Stella has been a popular Marian hymn since the middle ages, whose charming melody has attracted many composers to set it to polyphony throughout music history. Here we performed the first three strophes, first in plain chant, then in polyphony with Rackett consort (a very interesing Renaissance instrument) and the third strophe again in plain chant.

文藝復興德國音樂理論家-普雷特烏斯 Michael Praetorius 在1619年他的文藝復興樂器大全（歷史上第一本古樂器文獻）上介紹拉凱特管時寫道：「一群拉凱特管家族，聽起來並沒有特別的優雅，它們的聲音聽起來像是在“吹梳子”的感覺。
然而，如果將拉凱特管與提琴或其他樂器混合搭，音色會非常的“甜美”和“優雅”。 」
古樂集嘗試遵循400年前文獻，使用共鳴豐潤的中世紀五弦提琴與三支厚重低音的拉凱特管編制，發現效果更為驚人，相較於整個家族的俏皮感，此編制和諧豐滿，應證文獻上所形容的甜蜜與優雅感。

文藝復興除了義大利，阿爾卑斯山脈北方的國度-法蘭德斯地區，也蓬勃發展，
在巴哈之前的16世紀，這塊地區出現了許多非常非常重要但今天逐漸被遺忘的偉大作曲家。
比如說台灣音樂班考試曾經要背的文藝復興”三大作曲家”之一的：奧蘭多·德·拉索斯Orlande de Lassus（1532-1594）
他幼年為唱詩班歌童，但因爲歌聲實在太美了，而曾被其他合唱團給誘拐三次。
之後他先後在義大利和法國工作，直到最後落腳到慕尼黑的宮廷。
拉索斯一生中發表超過兩千首作品，其中包括義大利風格的牧歌、法蘭西式的香頌，和莊重肅穆的宗教樂歌，
1570 年左右有一幅描繪巴伐利亞宮廷音樂家的團體畫，這幅畫描繪了等一個大合奏中有許多不同的古樂器，包括拉凱特管與其他樂器一起出現在其中，是古樂器考古的一個珍貴史料，而繪畫中可以看到拉索斯坐在處女琴(Virginal)上帶領這個大合奏。

這首古老流傳拉丁文的讚美詩， 大約於8 世紀或 9 世紀流傳下來，並在天主教的晚禱儀式中演唱。
一直到在文藝復興時期，因為其絕美動聽的旋律，它被廣泛使用在文藝復興的複音音樂中，甚至到流傳幾百年到巴洛克時期，無數作曲大師們都留下了以這首聖歌為基礎的作品。

古樂集的吟唱葛利果聖歌的特別來賓：土耳其古樂家-Ozan Karagöz，畢業於瑞士巴塞爾古樂學院 Schola Cantorum Basiliensis，是一位精通古樂理論、古樂記譜法、中世紀/文藝復興聲樂與文藝復興/巴洛克舞蹈的藝術家。
他於巴塞爾古樂學院學習音樂理論和中世紀文藝復興時期的聲樂，並以聲樂家和文藝復興舞者的身分參與歐洲各地的音樂會與音樂節，並與知名古樂團合作：如 Leones、Huelgas、巴塞爾七弦琴古樂團La Cetra 和 Renaidanse。 同時於受聘於赫爾辛基、波哥大與義大利墨西拿Messina等大學機構開設的古樂理論和實踐的課程，並在母校巴塞爾古樂學院教授「古記譜法學科」。

【 中世フィドルとランケットのアンサンブル - 400年前の文献にならって - 】
ルネサンス時代のドイツの音楽理論家であるミヒャエル・プレトリウスは、1619年に『シンタグマ・ムジクム』という歴史上で最初の古楽器の文献でランケットについても述べており、ランケットはヴィオールなど他の楽器と混ぜると甘く上品な音になる、と記しています。
今回、私たち微光古楽集 (The Gleam Ensemble)は、400年前に書かれたこのプレトリウスの文献にならい、３つのランケットに中世の5弦フィドルの豊かな響きをブレンドしてみました。確かに、ランケットのみのコンソートに比べより均整が取れ、非常に美しい効果を生み出すことができたと思います。これがプレトリウスが文献に記した、「甘く上品」な音色なのでしょうか。 - เพลง

I love this one, bravo!
You're some of the best performers of European early music that I've heard. You really seem to "get" this music, and perform with superb musicality. The racketts are well recorded, and they sound warmer than those in recordings of racketts that I have heard previously. My small computer speakers could not handle the lower tones, so I switched to headphones, and the contrabass pitches are almost overwhelming to listen to.

We translated “拉凱特管” for the explaining double reeds and woodwind instruments in Taiwan :)
