Hi Vanessa! A Spaniard here. Love your English classes, specially cause you transmit such good mood and positivity so I became quickly a new subscriber a few days ago. I have to admit I haven't finished yet the test (I've promised my self I will when will be less busy) but just wanted to comment that I was wary at the vocabulary challenge, but I excelled there! Guess that most words were of latin origin so they are very similar to the Spanish ones. So I believe the "cult" English words come from latin and are easy to understand for us, latin-tongue speakers. Take care during these difficult days. Greetings from Madrid.

Hi I clicked on this while searching for help with my mumbling and baby voice (I’ve hated ever since I became an adult). I figured it was a test on proper English or whatnot. I realized right away that it’s for people learning English as a second (or third or fourth, etc) language. I went ahead and watched it for a few minutes. I just wanted to let you know that I think you are very good. If I was from another country and didn’t understand the English language I would hope someone would point me in your direction. Your methods are different but so much better than all other instructors. You seem very kind, genuine and caring. I personally do not know anyone that isn’t American that needs help with the language (over the years I have known a few people) but if and when I do, I will recommend you! Thank you for making this world a better place.

I think this channel is optimum way to learn english. The way she teaches, and the way she organizes the lessons is commendable. I have seen seen other english videos on youtube, but some were ambiguous. I recommend that everyone watch these videos of Vanessa. I am used to watching her videos on yt. When I was young, I was kind of nonchalant person. I didn’t pay attention in each lesson at school especially in english. In retrospect, Only if I had paid attention in each lesson, wouldn’t have I suffered today. I was once scoffed with my communication skills, for there were errors in each sentence I made. Then I realized that I should help myself to improve. Charan! Here I am. I have been studying by watching videos on yt over a year. Anyway, stay safe and stay at home everyone. Let’s help the government to combat this unseen enemy of ours by simply staying at home. Let’s help each other. I know we are all resilient. Anyway, if I made some errors each sentence I have composed, you could correct me. You can drop your corrections in the comment below or above. 😀
Hi Vanessa :-) I'm Belgian (from Belgium, Europe) and I speak (not perfectly) English for about 25 years now... When I hear you i realize I speak and write english exactly as an American which is the most common English to me, to my ears (used in the Movies, on the Internet, in rock songs I love some much listening to...)
When I go to England and have a conversation with a British, many of them ask me if I'm American or "Which State of the US do you com from ?"
I find that so funny LOL

I have been watching english documentories and english taeching videos of different kinds in the last 2 weeks. And this was an extrem boost. Nearly able to listen to everything now. It also was a touching moment to understand the news at BBC . CNN is a bit tricky, they have some different words. And if it is too fast for me, I just switch down playing speed. So, I´ve spent 2 weeks now with it, and I´m so happy about :-)

No...you are deciding to follow BECAUSE of the quarantine. This is not SPUR OF THE MOMENT. “Spur of the moment “ means to be spontaneous....so, “I was bored, so I decided to fly to Hawaii on a spur of the moment vacation”. Meaning, I was;t planning on flying to Hawaii, but, “why not”?

The only suggestion I have is that it would be much more beneficial and challenging if you put 4 or 5 choices instead of only two choices for the vocabulary parts. Would you please do it? :) And also I disagree with you about the "Fluency Statement NUMBER 8". I do not believe that if an English speaker is fluent, he/she necessarily understands all non-native speakers' accents!!! Why? Because some of them might mispronounce the words or the sounds and they might not be able to use the correct intonation, so that an English Native Speaker might have some difficulties to understands them completely, and this is natural, based on the Genera; Linguistics Principles
