“I am woman, hear me roar,
In numbers too big to ignore,
    And I know too much
    To go back and pretend,
‘Cause I’ve heard it all before,
And I’ve been down there on the floor,
    No one’s ever going to
    keep me down again...”
    -Helen Reddy 1972

Don't Read Me Like This That’s part of the song “I Am Woman,” which was a big hit for Helen Reddy. You can find it on TH-cam.

"Now my niece is 8 and skipping pizza day because all of the sudden she's worried if she's thin enough to be a queen."
There's two issues being raised here. First, how women are held to a standard dictated by what men like. Second, how young her niece is when she feels the need to fit that standard. We do our girls no justice by letting them accept a position as goods for men. Let us do better by our women and children.

if you're a teacher, don't give positive feedback when a little boy repeats an answer that a girl just made, and don't forget to give positive feedback when a girl corrects a boy.

Where were these women when men were fighting off lions and other beasts of the jungle to defend the caves. When men went off to war to protect our families time and time again. When we were underground in the mines, when we were constructing the cosy buildings you so love, when we were making sure that you had healthy conditions and modern medication so birth was safer and so much more. You were fine with being protected, now we give you the western world, air conditioned work environments, camera equipment, lighting, healthy living conditions, complete freedom of expression and speech, freedom to be obese and stand on a stage expressing your hatred of men who have created the fairest society for women *on Earth* . And this is your response? Zero gratitude. Whats worse is that 3rd wave feminists like this will jump to Islam's defence over ANY criticism despite their EVIL treatment of women. It would be comical if it wasn't so tragic. Also "We Wuz Kangz".

Black Brit With A Clean Room well maybe not all women want to be protected. Did it never occur to you that even hundreds of years ago women also wanted to be able to work. Also what do you mean you’ve created the “fairest society for us”?! Women make a fraction of what men do. Is that fair? And also women haven always just sat around while the men did the work! Back in the Tudor times queens went to battle just like the kings! So you know what? *Equal society my ass!* also if you really want to know what women did in the caves I’ll tell you. Raising your fucking children. Cleaning up after you. Making your food. And maybe, I could be wrong, but just maybe once a woman might have thought. “I wish I could kill an animal.” Because maybe what you consider hard work was just an opportunity for adventure. An opportunity to actually live rather than survive. Women weren’t just given the privilege to do nothing all day. They were forced to sit still, look pretty and do whatever they were told. I bet you also didn’t know that there was a devise that would be used whenever a woman spoke “improperly” to a man and whenever she talked it would cut her tongue and could only remove it when he gave permission. Yet men would abuse wives and not get in trouble. So you know what? Keep telling yourself that women had it easy. but really, they were just trapped in a tower with no doors waiting for a man to save her, because apparently she isn’t allowed to do that herself!

    • @racheltaylor8831
      @racheltaylor8831 6 ปีที่แล้ว +15

"NOW WE GIVE YOU"?!?! SERIOUSLY?! Women have been beaten and executed and raped and ridiculed and systematically abused for CENTURIES to gain the facsimile of equality we have now. (See the other reply for more of this.) What were you wanting gratitude for - treating women like human beings?! EQUALITY SHOULD NOT BE YOURS TO GIVE. When an EIGHT YEAR OLD child is starving herself because of how she feels she should look the things are still FUCKED UP. Or are you a fan of that too?
Also not every modern day feminist is a 3rd wave feminist who can't see injustice in other situations. Feminism has many subgroups. Learn what you're talking about before you speak.

The pay gap narrative is based upon millions of men and millions of women's salaries, seeing that the men earn more and then screaming "Sexism". Variables exist. You have to ask why it's happening. The fact that there are more female nurses than male nurses doesn't instantly equal sexism. Part of it is the fact that women have a higher interest in that occupation. Women *choose* to earn less. You *choose* not to sign up to be an engineer or builder and *choose* instead to work in a non dangerous job in an office more frequently. Women *choose* to take gender studies over sciences and other stem subjects. Women *choose* to work less hours than men on average (Men ask for overtime more). It is illegal to pay people different salaries for the exact same job. The only place that is happening is in Hollywood and a handful of CEO positions where there are some men earning - for example - 480,000 with SOME women in the same role being paid around 405,000 for the same role, *something NO middle class woman is being subjected to!* When women ask for a pay rise and the answer is no, men are more likely to ask what is required to get it whereas women are more likely to just say "ok". I could go on but I'm trying to keep this succinct.

(2/2)The point is that with every passing second as well as the very present, life is the easiest it has EVER been for women. Yet they're more angry than ever. Angry about pay gaps that don't exist and so called evil men despite you being unable to name ONE other place in the world which treats women better than the west....
