Thanks for sharing and answering the questions. Don't be surprised by the success of your channel, you are likeable down to earth people who have your stuff together and are doing something many wish they could do...and filming it. Recipe for success...
With you once again. Learning so much. 72 yrs. old now and too late for me. Early glider rating, soloed 152 went broke. Now looking for youtube groundschool. I can still learn, lol. First inspiration was Steve McQueen looping a Schweizer 1-26 in the start of "The Thomas Crown Affair". That's all it took. Working through your videos and learning. Thanks to both.
That was pretty cool that you all took the time to give us some time to get to know you both. Your becoming celebrities. No other pilot channels do it quite like you two. Looking forward to seeing your adventure on the islands. Happy tail winds.
Great story and history of you and your wife. Very impressive resume you guys have and obviously you're living the dream ! Thanks for sharing your life and all the aviation related content here. 2 thumbs up to both of you, stay safe and have a great weekend :) Doug @ the "ranch"
Love watching you two! Haven't flown in quite a few years now (divorce, child support blah blah blah) can't afford it anymore. Had my single engine, private pilot's license with float, and night ratings. Your video angles are great, right from take off, to "in air" and landings, put me back in the left seat! Keep up the great work, stay safe, and looking forward to many more adventures with you guys!
Thank You Guys for sharing your back ground a little bit with your fans. I was always wondering why you two feel very comfortable on the Radio. Thank You. Mauricio.
Jaime and Kevin, thanks so much for sharing your story. Jamie, I am legally blind, 20/1700 in best eye, and my wife is a pilot. I do the radio work as well. However, I have logged about 65 hours of left seat and right seat time to learn how to land the plane in an emergency without being able to see the runway, airport, or most of the gauges from the right seat. My instructors were very helpful in developing ways that I could control the plane safely with the visual cues that we found that worked for me. I have learned to fly an ILS and NDB approach and am able to land the plane safely if an observer can assist me over the radio in knowing when to flare. In a non field emergency landing, I have learned to get the plane as slow as possible and head for a big open field.
Thanks for taking the time to help us non pilots understand some of the planes functions. Your background history was also interesting to hear👍 thanks🇺🇸
Always wondered what you both did. Thanks for sharing. I am retired AF and work at the Biloxi VA Medical Center right next door to Keesler. I finally got my local area checkout and fly out of KGPT and really enjoy flying in this beautiful area. Thank you for your service and Happy Veterans Day.
Thank you for your service as well Bryan! Congrats on getting checked out locally and being able to fly around down there. Even though I wasn't there for long, I remember liking the area down there.
Kevin/Jaime, I enjoy coming along for the ride w/ you in your videos; you are nice people to hang out with. The first airplane I ever rode in was a Ford Tri-Motor, aka "The Tin Goose". It was operated out of Port Clinton, Ohio by Island Airways and flew out to the Lake Erie Islands. As I recall the cabin was narrow and cramped, but fortunately it is a short flight!
DejaVu...My Father was a 1950's USAF Fighter Pilot. My Grade School Teacher and her husband owned a Twin Cessna and would take me flying on the week ends when Dad was gone. I joined the USAF late 70's and was an ATC'er for 8 years, got out and joined the FAA worked "LGB" Tower during the Reagan strike. I resigned and joined the Army. Spent the remainder of my career as a Army Pilot. Flew Med-Evac during the 1st gulf war. But Enough of me...Love your videos!!!!
Glad you're enjoying the videos James and thanks for your service! Sounds like we both have a lot of aviation in the family. :) My dad was a Med-Evac pilot and was activated during the 1st gulf war but stayed at Rucker in a training role. He did manage to get over there during the 2nd one prior to retirement.
And now I know, the rest of the story. Seriously, thank you for the background info. As a USAF SMSgt (Ret), I feel a kinship with you beyond flying. On the comparison between the 310 and Baron, my research seems to indicate a better resale value for the 310; and, without having been in either, it seems like the 310 cabin space is greater. At any rate, thank you for taking the time to post your videos. They have been helpful to me as a pilot, making me much more comfortable flying VFR utilizing ATC. I now always use ATC flight following when fling cross country since viewing your videos. Since most of my flying is between KBMI and Milwaukee, maybe we’ve spoken. Happy landings, and again, thank you for improving the VFR/ATC relationship.
Thank our for your service as well! Glad you are enjoying the videos. :) I forgot to mention the 310 having a wider/more roomy cabin and that was another factor for us vs the Baron. Glad you are finding the videos helpful in your own flying. If you get flight following in the Chicago area, there is a chance we have talked to you. Stay safe up there!
I was just telling my wife about you two the other day. We ride a motorcycle all over the place and do a big trip each year on the bike. I did take private pilot training years ago in my 20's. To be honest I ran out of money before I ran out of time. But I enjoy watching you two and enjoy just listening to you chat back and forth. We do the same thing with out motovlogging TH-cam channel. Thanks for keeping me away from the TV and Fly Safe!
You guys make me smile. You seem to be a great match, which also makes you personable in your videos. I so enjoy sitting back to watch them; it takes me away from everyday issues. TV is not worth watching any more. These videos are the perfect tonic for me. THANKS !
Now this was a great video. Always great to get such valuable back ground info. I think you guys have a fantastic relationship and it must be great to fly around as a couple and see the world. Keep them videos coming. Just love them.
The Q&A was awesome. Lots of good questions answered. I grew up with a dad who had a couple of 310s, then moved up to a 340 and then a 421. I flew in them all the time. It’s part of the reason I got my pilots’s license and have flown all my life. I aspire to move into a 310 in a few years - what a fantastic platform. It brings back a lot of memories when I watch your videos. Enjoy yourselves!
Glad you enjoyed it Steve! That's awesome you got to grow up in twin Cessna's..they are hard to beat. I'd love a 340 but can't justify the extra cost for what we do. Glad to bring back some fond memories!
Great videos, guys!! I went to ATC academy in 1989 and landed at ZSE but unfortunately washed out in 92. Currently a correctional officer in Oregon and own and fly a 1959 C172.
Glad you are enjoying the videos Chris! It was a tough time back then from what I've heard. Learned to fly in 172's...they will always have a special place in my heart. :)
Thank you Kevin and Jamie for taking the time to make these videos! Keep them coming. Love the videos of flying out to the farm. That's where my love of aviation began as we had an airstrip that was next to our family farm where I grew up. Go Mountaineer's!!!
Glad you are enjoying them Eddie! Too bad the runway at the farm is a little short for the 310. I have flown a 172 in and out of there before. I've flown to West Va before...beautiful state!
Loved the insight to how you decided on the 310. My A&P when I had my B24R was a HUGE 310 fan, I assisted with engine changes, enjoyed learning about the 310. I've been out of flying for about 20 years, watching you guys, Premier1Driver and Baron Pilot is interesting for me as an experienced pilot. "Pinch Hitter Training"...
Great Q&A session. It was really interesting to hear your stories. OK on Alaska. We just went on a cruise to Alaska and really loved what we saw. It was really an eye opener.....all so beautiful. The highlight was to cruise through Glacier Bay. I really enjoy your Channel and this Q&A was great. You both seem so positive and upbeat. Keep on keeping on. George in FL.
Thank you George...glad you enjoyed it! Alaska is very beautiful...I love going up there. One day we plan to have a summer place there in retirement. :)
Kevin, You and Jaime are the best in my book! You answered many questions that have been on my mind about your ATC background, how you got into aviation, education, military service etc. Both of your Q & A's were outstanding. Always wanted to be a pilot but never had the opportunity due to personal circumstances. Never lost my love for aviation! You have renewed my interest and I watch as many TH-cam videos as possible. Thanks for your response to my comments due to your time constraints!
Thanks for sharing your stories. You both are obviously qualified to present your story - I love it. The dynamics of your marriage are wonderful! Keep up the great work!
@@310Pilot Lol, think it might just be out of the 310's range. That's great news. If you are ever in Port Elizabeth, come to the tower and we'll show you around.
Great comments Kevin and Jaime to give background how you got here!!! Great feed back on the 310 vs baron or anything else. Thanks for pounding home the verbal commands that you do, i.e. flaps, gear, throttle, mix, etc. Dad and my instructors always told me to verbally say the commands to verify you're doing exactly what you want to do!! Always good to watch your videos.
Glad you are enjoying the videos Wayne! I started trying to explain things that I figured people would want to hear (my thoughts) and now I can't not announce whatever I'm doing while I fly. :)
You guys are TH-cam Stars! It was nice hearing about your backgrounds and history, helps to give your videos a little more personal touch if that makes any sense 🙄 I'm an A&P, but havent turned wrenches in many years...am now an RN. I've always wanted to be a pilot since childhood, but never had the financial resources. Thank you both for allowing me to come along for the ride . Grace & Peace to both of you. 🙂😉
Ha ha...not sure about stars but it is pretty strange for us to be recognized still. We are starting to get used to it now that is happens on a majority of our flights. We are just happy people are enjoying the videos and saying hi when they hear/see us. :) Aviation is such a small world! Glad you're enjoying the channel Kevin! I really wish I could get my A&P but it is so time consuming I just can't swing it until retirement. Between being an RN and A&P, I'd say you're pretty good with your hands!
You have always acknowledged my comments which I appreciate and I wouldn't be mad if you didn't. I understand the time and effort you both put into these videos and I enjoy riding along, thanks!
Thank you Terry! I can't always and I'm sure it will get harder and harder. My original thought was if people take the time to watch and comment I should take the time to write a little back. Some times I have a few minutes to bang a few responses out and other times not so much.
Watched your Bahama adventure series. I was a few years ahead of you with your AF career, 1966-1970. Also used this skill to find my way to SFO, NLC, and PHX TRACON. Great videos and enjoy the ATC. Thanks, Fired PATCO Controller.
This could be Trailer #2. Had to put it in my favorites folder. I need to watch it again. Thanks for all the info on the 310 and your reasons for getting it. Even 2 years after submitting this video, it is still very interesting and to see all the advances you have made! I feel like a time traveller going back and forth with You Tube steering my viewing from your current ones to your early entries. Great fun to watch. Soon i will be caught up and start watching your Patreon Album.
Some of my favorite memories were spent in the right seat of a 310 an old friend and client owned here in Jacksonville, Florida back in the '80's. He was working on his IFR ticket and every evening would shoot approaches to JAX and I would ride along. I have been a VFR flier and Warrior owner at one time, so I also live some vicarious memories through you guys. Great videos! Keep it up! For the record, when my friend was working on his approaches, his CFI occupied the right seat and I usually rolled around on the bench back seat. My up front time and hands on was just when we were zooming around for fun - and yes, after flying a Warrior the speed was very very addictive. I would have a 310 in a country heartbeat if I had the income to support it.
Awesome back story Clayton! Glad you were able to enjoy time in your friends 310. We've flown around in 172's, 'togas', etc and I must agree...the speed is addictive. Really allows for stretching out and making the country much smaller. Glad you are enjoying the videos!!
I have been around airplanes all my life, a friend of my moms was a pilot from student to flying MU-2's. I was very lucky growing up with that environment. We got to fly in a lot of different planes. I eventually got my A&P, worked for a commuter for a few years, then got out of business. I enjoy videos you put out and also am able to live vicariously thru these to keep my head in the clouds. Keep 'Em Coming.
Great Q&A video! Will be a good one to refer people to when these questions come up again in the future. Thought it would be helpful to list the questions with time stamps in the description. Below is my suggestion; feel free to embellish at your discretion: 0:52 How did Jamie become an air traffic controller? 2:55 What is Kevin’s Aviation Story? 9:08 Why did you chose a Cessna 310? 15:25 Do you read all the comments? 16:32 What type of headset does Jamie wear? 19:30 Do you wear seatbelts and where are the shoulder harnesses? 20:42 What is with those crazy fuel gauges?!? 23:50 Why do you open the door while on the ground taxing? 24:45 Is Jamie a pilot?
James, that's perfect! Thank you. Now I just need to copy and edit it to the description. Or I'll try a thumbs up and see if that puts it near the top. :)
I really enjoyed the detailed answers, especially the explanation of the fuel gauges. Also, having someone in the right seat that can handle the radios and is good at spotting traffic sure helps bring the workload down for the pilot. You guys make a great team!
Looking forward to seeing you fly into the Bahamas and maybe more than one island. You two obviously are very skilled with the plane and love listening to both you and Jamie talking to the controllers. Very professional. Fly safe.
Glad you are enjoying it Dave! We end up flying into three different islands and record all of it and the flight back home. I'm breaking them up into separate legs and editing them one at a time. I'm almost done with #4 (the first island)...should be up in a day or two.
Loved this Q&A, you guys are great. I loved hearing your thoughts between the Baron and 310. I flew a 58 in the 80s, that had a Colemill conversion. That conversion addressed some of the points you made. Like you, I always liked the look and stance of the 310. The FBO where I worked, while building time, had both aircraft, but just a completely different ramp presence. Thanks for another great video, Safe skies !
Glad you enjoyed it Randy! The Colemill Baron's and 310's are hotrods. :) Too much for my pockets though...we'll be sticking with our 470's. Do love the ramp presence of a Twin Cessna.
Loved this Q&A. Thanks very much. (,,if future q&a's rises from viewers, dont hessitate to simultanious make own add'on question internally with eachother if one of you remember something about other one) ThumbsUp! Happy flying&traveling. ..br, from norway.
Glad you enjoyed it! I will keep that in mind for future Q&A's. On long cross county flights it's fun to fill some of the boring times with those. I'm sure we will do it again soon. :)
Love the story you guys are great. Enjoy watching and purely gelious, as a kid flew with my grandfather that was an army helicopter pilot, he had a pacer tail drager and a Cherokee low wing. Loved going out with him. Air force nice! this September 26, 2019 will have 19 years in service with 4 more remaining. I have a daughter that followed me in service and is stationed at Elmendorf air force base. She ended up marrying a guy from Wasilla Alaska. Love to fly and miss it so much. Almost wonder if it is to late to get my license at 42. Look forward to more of you all and love you guys. Oh by the way the flight with you and your son was the cutest trip wish I could do that with my dude!! You all take care be safe stay country and god speed!! Angel's on your wings. Jared & Tonya Nanneman
Glad you enjoyed it Jared! Thank you for your and your daughters service!! 42 is for sure not too late to start flight training. I've known several to do it later in life. Good luck if you decide to go that path. Thank you for the nice comment!!
@@310Pilot wow so nice to hear back so fast from you guys. In the service I've been to Tennessee was at Mickey Tyson for some training went to gatlenberg, very cool place to see lots to do. Yes also did that texas training at lackland and Wichita falls for jet engine school, Was overseas in 17. Never been there but know a couple places you guys are around. A follower of Extreme Customs in oshkosh, im a bit of a car guy, and do some business with vortex in Barneveld, Wisconsin deal with a Doreen Forbes great gal. Well sorry for all that but if you ever venture out to see the west or west coast and want to see crater lake, some beautiful mountain Ranges and lakes, you guys have a place to stay at Lima Mike Tango Elevation: 4,094′ 42° 10' 0" N I'm at KLMT take care and be safe 🇺🇸
I really enjoyed this talk, thanks for sharing. I watch all your videos, Me and several of my family members are studying to possibly get training to be a pilot. My brother owns a 172. Two of my brothers are A&P so I've been closely involved with aviation thru them for years. You, Stevo, Greg, Baron are some of my favorite channels in the GA world. Thanks a bunch for making these videos.
Glad you're enjoying the channel Larry! Your family sounds about like mine with all the aviation related interests. Good luck on finishing up your pilots license. Bunch of nice guys you have listed there as well. :)
Very informative video, Kevin and Jaime. Thanks for sharing your history in aviation with us. Since y’all aren’t commercial pilots, you both are very down-to-earth folks. I think that’s what makes you both so likable to us. But, when you are flying, Kevin, you are conversational, but are still serious about flying the aircraft, and Jaime handles the radio like she was the pilot in command. It brings out the friendliness in each of you. You both talked about you each got into aviation and and air traffic control, but one thing you left out, or I didn’t catch. Since you both came from different parts of the country, and have worked in different locations in ATC, how did you end up in Chicago ATC? Do you both work at O’Hare? Also, Kevin, as a fellow veteran, I want to thank you for your service to our country, as well as, your father and grandfather, for their service. Thanks for sharing your knowledge of different aircraft, as well. Very informative. I, personally, feel like I know you and Jaime a little more now, and appreciate you both. Thanks for another great video. As always, keep’em coming, and Happy Flying and always Safe Landings.
Thanks for your service as well Richard and glad you enjoyed the video! We both ended up in Chicago because it was the busiest ATC facilities and we wanted to work at the top. Little did we know it is really hard to get out when you are here because it is short staffed. One day we will have a summer spot in Alaska and a winter spot in Georgia. Can't wait!
Hope you both have a great weekend enjoy the videos . I live just North of Tampa in Wesley Chapel . Thanks for explaining how you both got involved with aviation and thank you for your time served
Great video! Not only do you two have a great cockpit dynamic with each other, but you make it feel like I'm riding along hanging out. Just found your channel recently, subscribed and working through the videos. Love them!
I know exactly what you are talking about when you open the door!!!!!!! Fly out of KGGG in East Tx, with the heat and humidity, you will look like you've just stepped out of the shower while taxiing! I just found you youtube channel and I have really enjoyed the videos, I want you to know that we really appreciate you guys in ATC we thank all of them for being so helpful!!!!!! A lot of good people out there and its nice to put a face with some of them.
I liked this one, nice to learn more about you two. Thanks for serving our country btw! Looking forward to more of this series, brings back some fun memories!
Awesome videos Kevin ! ... I used to fly a Cessna Skylane 182 for our sheriffs office and other law enforcement agencies. We used that and a C-152 aerobat for recon and traffic spotting. Even chased some bad guys who robbed a bank in 1989. Located a crashed Bonanza 35 on a local grass field upon the request from the local CAP. Since I retired in 2014, I have stopped flying. I miss it though. I was VFR & IFR single & multi engine rated. So you guys have a great thing going. Keep up the good work and I'll be checking you out from time to time. Have FUN !!
Thank you Keith!! Glad you are enjoying them. Sounds like you had some fun flying in your career. We work with you guys a lot obviously. Thank you for your service!
Just found your channel. Really enjoy it. I had a 310-J (N3051L) for 10 years that I bought in Alaska and flew back to VA. Flew it for 600+ hours and really miss it but I had to sell it, I was afraid avgas would go to $2/gal. It was a long time ago. Met my wife at the airport and our first date was in the 310. Watching the takeoffs and operation brings back a lot of good memories. As far as the shoulder harness' go, my wife has a PA-28 that we installed the BAS shoulder harness and didn't like the four point harness. They really chafe our neck and are hard to put together. We installed the conventional shoulder harness (3 point) in our Velocity XL-RG and like those a lot better. Thanks for the sharing your stories. Maybe will meet at Oshkosh or Sun-N-Fun someday.
Glad you found us and are enjoying the channel! Thanks for the heads up about the harnesses. I just can't find a 3 point for my plane. So far the BAS is all that I find STC'ed. Neck chafing sounds terrible. If I was going to build a plane today it would be the Twin Velocity...they look and sound amazing. Even though they don't seem as fast as your's! We plan to go to both next year so hopefully we can meet up! Thanks again!!
Great information , I currently thinking about taking the classes for my license . They offer classes near me . Great video, I like kicking back and listening to your flights
I was a career radar guy (scope dope) in the Air Force. I was signed up to go to ATC school at Keesler, but when I was in basic the class I was supposed to be in and a few classes beyond that were cancelled taking me out of the running for being an air traffic controller. I was offered to get out and go home or choose another AFSC. I chose TACP and was elminated because of a jump accident during an exercise in Korea. After medical reclassification, I went back to Keesler for a couple of weeks to move from 275X0 to 276X0 and spent my time as a scope operator in mobile radar units at Kadena AB, Okinawa and Langley AFB, VA. I was later pulled into space operations while still a radar operator and transitioned when they created a new AFSC for space operators in 1993. I had spent most of my USAF time as a space cadet by the time I retired. Still working as a USAF civilian and now am a Space Force civilian. Not sure how to process the whole USSF thing yet. Too old to be a controller now, I am working on my commercial and CFI so I can fly after I leave my current govt job in a couple of years. I enjoy following you both on YT and IG. I did my multi in a 310 and love the airplane. I am researching now how to afford one in my retirement. It would be great to talk to you in depth about the financial demands for the 310, maintenance, upgrades and operating budget.
NIce video! Im a Cessna man myself. Ive have a 182 with the BAS shoulder harnesses. I love them, if you have them installed in your 310 you will not be disappointed.
Really enjoy your channel! Loved the biography and Q&A of this episode. My Dad was a CFI for Cessna back in the sixties and got me a factory promo photo of Sky King with his new 310B, so obviously I've been a lifelong fan of 310's. Going along with your tale of renting a Skyhawk and it taking forever to travel; again as a kid back in the sixties I got to fly with my Dad in a Skyhawk . Another pilot friend who owned a 310B took off a little later, caught up and passed us like we were standing still! Keep up the great work!
Glad you are enjoying the channel Jeff and thanks for your backstory! That's awesome you got a photo with Sky King. :) 310's for sure make the country smaller than 172's could. Still love to fly around in a 172 from time to time though.
Wow, I can’t believe the similar background I have with you. My dad, Army fixed wing pilot when I was young, lived in Athens, also Atlanta where dad kept our C172 at Peachtree Dekalb (north side of Atlanta ). Numerous uncles who were also military and GA pilots. C310 hands down favorite. The back stories you and Jamie share are some of the best I’ve ever heard. You probably won’t believe this but my wife also lived in Alaska. No, you didn’t talk too much, could have listened all day ! Thank you Kevin !
Wow John...small world! Sounds very similar to me. :) Did your dad fly out of Winder, GA when you were in Athens? Glad you enjoyed the video...lot's of others coming soon. Go Dawgs!!
I thought about becoming a controller but took a different path... Too bad, I'd be retired by now! I love tooling around in a172, but you are right they aren't much fun for long cross country trips! Thanks for taking the time to answer questions.
Love the video’s! I’ve owned a B55 Baron for 3 years now and at 41 years old it is awesome to see another young couple driving a twin around. It is a big committment to feed two engines, but worth it to me when moving the family around. If you ever want to compare notes on twin ownership, let me know! Keep it up!
Glad you are enjoying the videos! The 55 is a twin of our twin...do you have the 470's in there? Not often we see people our age driving one around like you said. It is worth it to us as well...night/imc/over water/etc. Would love to talk one day...where are you based out of ?
310 Pilot - I’ve got a President II converted Baron with 550’s (N14DR). Love the 470’s for their robustness, but the 550’s have really good SE performance so I bit the bullet for a PII. Its got deice like yours that is useful in the NE. We are based out of KDYL (Philly Area). We get out to Milwaukee and West Lafayette periodically. If you are ever out east look us up!
Thanks for the video...answered the questions I had on why the wife was sooo good on the radio. I just started watching you guys and love the videos. Watching you and the Premier Driver with his wife is just like me and mine flying 😀. I went thru the ATC school in OK city, but stayed with what I know near as a Fisheries Biologist. We have a C421 and a Apache.
Glad you enjoyed it! That's awesome that your wife enjoys flying with you...from what I hear, many don't. Maybe not switching to ATC worked out better...a 421 and Apache...nice!!
Really fun to ride along....If I knew someone who was having a hard time communicating with ATC, I would recommend they watch all of your videos. Also, did not know the little tidbit you mentioned about the tip tanks...I always thought they were designed to be an aerodynamic contributor to the wings. Learn something new everyday....Keep up the great work...Bring on the approach into the Bahama's....
Glad you enjoyed it Jim! I've heard that the tip tanks went from the original tuna type to the modern ones for aerodynamic reasons but think the original design was for the fuel to separate. Excited to start editing the Bahamas part of the trip. :)
Great info session. It is always nice to learn more about you both. I am sure this was one of your earlier videos before I began following you but thanks for doing it.
Hey guys. Hope you enjoyed the Bahamas! Thanks for the background. Makes you feel like part of the family :-) now. If you're ever in or around Lexington KY, let me know and maybe we can take you guys out for a meal. We live about 30 minutes from KLEX airport. Always enjoy your down to earth videos. As someone else commented - your livin' the dream! Bring your little boy up for another video once in a while too. He was so cute and such a good pilot! I can't help but smile whenever TH-cam displays the thumbnail of that video you posted of him flying with you to the avionics shop. Awesome little guy. Makes me miss my grandson down in Florida. Fly safe.
Thanks for the offer Robert! We'll keep it in mind if we ever end up down that way. Glad you enjoyed the video.. I wasn't sure if people would find it boring or if they'd like the insight but we wanted to address common questions posted here. Lil man loves to fly...I don't usually put him out a lot on the internet but we'll get another one posted soon. :)
310 Pilot You know, I hadn't even thought about that but I totally understand. You can't be too careful with your little ones these days. It's a shame this world is so full of sick and depraved people. As far as this video goes, I imagine your subscribers like to learn as much about you as you're willing to share. I for one appreciate what you've shared as I'm as curious as the next person. And owning a 310 has got to be just awesome! After a while, you actually feel like you've become friends with the folks you watch so much. Of course, that can be good and bad ;-) I'm a disabled computer programmer, retired from HP. I used to fly in my younger days but never finished my PPL. I've never lost my love for flying though. My disability is related to my spine and requires I take medication that is NOT on the FAA approved list so I've just had to live my love for flying through watching and following others via Utube. It's almost as good as flying yourself especially when you know you probably will never be able to. Anyway, that's my brief story. I consider myself a grounded retired pilot I guess. I had passed my written and had about 30 hours when things went sideways for my training. Then I got married, had my first child, life just happened and I never got back to it. Always have regretted it tho. Sorry for the long note. Have a great evening Kevin, Bob.
Hello from Perth, Western Australia. Great video and informative Q&A session. Been watching your vids for a few months now and really enjoy seeing what you guys get up to. Well done and keep up the great work om your channel. Cheers...
Well done and very informative as always. Again I'm not a pilot. I'm an AF Retired F-15 jet mechanic. But I'm absorbing all your flying videos like a sponge.
Thanks guys... apart from the Q and A, this video shows what it feels like to just cruise along, the sound of the engines beating a steady rhythm, time to relax and enjoy flying... looking forward to cruising along with you to the Bahamas... 😎
That's cool that you controlled at Phoenix! I'm doing ATC at ASU and our tower and tracon professors both worked Phoenix so we simulate Phoenix for local and tracon. Our enroute professor worked ZLA so we do ZLA for the enroute sim.
I have watched other teams on youtube. And I realize it is personality but you 2 seem to be the most relaxed and "for real" channel. Not to say anything bad about the other ones but they sometimes seem a bit forced with the banter back and forth. But you probably won't read this. According to Jaimes silent "know we don't..." Another example of being for real. thanks
Thanks for sharing and answering the questions. Don't be surprised by the success of your channel, you are likeable down to earth people who have your stuff together and are doing something many wish they could do...and filming it. Recipe for success...
Thank you for the nice comment Arch! Glad you think so. :)
Agree with you, Sir - best possible formula for success.
totally likeable. just nice.
Glad you enjoyed it and you think we have our own little niche. Glad people are enjoying them. :)
Great story and history of you and your wife. Very impressive resume you guys have and obviously you're living the dream !
Thanks for sharing your life and all the aviation related content here. 2 thumbs up to both of you, stay safe and have a great weekend :)

Thank you Doug!!!

I was an Army helicopter crew chief back in the day, maybe I knew your dad! Keep the videos coming, really enjoy them. You guys do a great job.
Thank you for your service Ron! He was a 58 and Huey pilot. Not sure which models you worked on? Glad you are enjoying the channel!!
@@310Pilot I worked on Hueys and Cobras. If he was in Germany between 1977 and 1980 we may have met.
Thank You. Mauricio.
Glad you enjoyed Mauricio!
This was a great video and I love the up close and personal nature of the info you talked about. Keep them coming!
Awesome...thank you George!

Glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks for telling your story about learning to fly for emergencies. We will do the same with Jaime at some point. :)
Thanks for taking the time to help us non pilots understand some of the planes functions. Your background history was also interesting to hear👍 thanks🇺🇸
For me, this is the best channel on TH-cam, hands down. You guys are genuinely enjoying each other and your love of aviation...keep the videos coming!
Wow!! Thanks for the awesome comment Tom...really glad you think so. :) Lot's more coming from the Bahamas and other flights.
Like the Qa. Flew tomcats in the day. Health will not me fly now but live vicariously through your videos ty
Enjoyed! Didn’t know you were an AF vet. Me, 23 years active AF, worked altitude chambers. Happy Veterans Day and have a great trip!
Thanks for your service as well Buck! Happy Veterans Day to you as well. :)
I was an Assistant Air Traffic controller in the RAF for five years and did it as a civilian (in the UK) for over 30 years. It's a great life.
Best job for me, that's for sure Colin! Congrats on your career as well. :)
Kevin, thanks for your service, from an old ex-Navy Corpsman (and a big fan of your videos).
You're welcome David and thank you for your's as well! Glad you are enjoying the videos!
Glad to help keep you away from the TV! :) Congrats on your motovlog! Jaime want's me to get a Harley one day. :)
You guys make me smile. You seem to be a great match, which also makes you personable in your videos. I so enjoy sitting back to watch them; it takes me away from everyday issues. TV is not worth watching any more. These videos are the perfect tonic for me. THANKS !
Thank you Jeff for the nice comment! Glad you are enjoying the channel and I agree about TV. Only turn it on for sports pretty much anymore.
Man that 310 panel is just the definition of cool, nice story too!
Awesome! Glad you like it. There are some really nice 6 figure panels out there but not in our budget. I'm really happy with what we have. :)
7:45 Kevin Thank You for your service God Bless you and your family Sir
Great refresher course. It always takes someone else to remind you not to become complacent. Thanks
You're welcome..glad you enjoyed it!
Both of you do a great job communicating to us the viewers. I really enjoy your adventures and being open with your
Followers. 😅
Thank you James...glad you think so. :)
GREAT Video!!! Always nice to hear show people got started in their chosen / hobbies...
Thanks for sharing more about your aviation backgrounds, aircraft choice, etc.. It adds perspective to what you're doing. Keep having fun!
Glad you enjoyed it Mike!
That's what she needs...thanks Ed! Glad you are enjoying watching the videos to get your mind back up there. :)
Great hearing both your stories. I'm from Anchorage as well. Born and raised, attended UAA aviation program as well. Live in WI now.
Glad you enjoyed it! Jaime said hi...not sure if you guys were at UAA together or not? Do you fly?
You're welcome James...glad you are enjoying the channel and we can help with your love of aviation. :)
Thanks for sharing your stories. You both are obviously qualified to present your story - I love it. The dynamics of your marriage are wonderful! Keep up the great work!
Great video and background information. The reason you like the 310 are the reasons I like them too
Glad you enjoyed it Dave! They are easy planes to fall in love with. :)
Really enjoy your videos. I am a fellow Approach and Tower Controller from Port Elizabeth in South Africa. Keep up the good work guys.
That's awesome Mark! Never met a controller from South Africa. We do plan on visiting down there but probably not flying the 310 all that way. :)
This is a good channel. I love listening to ATC while I'm at work. You guys sound good. Please keep them coming. Gary Houston Texas,
Thanks for the feedback Gary! Glad you're enjoying the channel. :)

You're welcome Brian and thank you for your service as well!
@@310Pilot I do enjoy riding along.
Watched your Bahama adventure series. I was a few years ahead of you with your AF career, 1966-1970. Also used this skill to find my way to SFO, NLC, and PHX TRACON. Great videos and enjoy the ATC. Thanks, Fired PATCO Controller.
Glad you enjoyed it David and thanks for your service as well! You got to work at some cool places...it's a shame what happened to ya'll.
Also a member of the Class of '81. I was fortunate enough to win my appeal and after 20 months was reinstated to ZAU.
LRod Peterson glad to hear. I knew a few PATCO controllers that were rehired. I wasn’t as fortunate but all is good.
Yes you're going to be a pilot!!! Jaime we want to see you solo!!! You have the best instructor on your left.
I have watch many of your videos, very much enjoy them keep up the great work. And be safe.
Thank you Jimmy...glad you are enjoying them!
I like the large squared off windows. Seems like great visibility for everyone on board 👍
George, the windows do provide great visibility in a 310. Not a bad seat in the house. :)
@@310Pilot Have a great weekend!
Glad you are enjoying them Jeff! Wish I had my A&P...especially at annual time. :)
Great Q&A video! Will be a good one to refer people to when these questions come up again in the future.
Thought it would be helpful to list the questions with time stamps in the description. Below is my suggestion; feel free to embellish at your discretion:
0:52 How did Jamie become an air traffic controller?
Thank you!! Glad you enjoyed it. :)
Great Q&A. Thank you for sharing your love of flying. Your videos are extremely informative. You’re an awesome team.
Thank you very much...glad you enjoyed it!
310 Pilot Agreed. Love a twin Cessna ! Great channel, you guys are the best !

Can't wait!
I happily found your channel recently, was immediately hooked, & subscribed. This Q&A is golden, I feel like I know you much better. Bravo! (Charlie)

Glad you enjoyed it and thank you! Happy to bring back fun memories. :)
Thanks again Kevin......really enjoyed seeing how much fun you guys have on every trip!!
You're welcome Bruce...glad you enjoyed it!
The 310 has always been my dream airplane! Thanks for the videos! Please share as much of your 310 knowledge as you want. Hope to own one someday!
Ha ha.. It was always mine as well. Finally decided you only live once and made it happen. Good luck in your quest as well. :)
Bradley Ahern Buy a 64-thru-Q model w a 430 WAAS and you’ll be good. The additional room over a Baron is noticeable.
The nice thing about the Beechcraft Bonanza V35 tip tanks is that there are separate gauges. Each tip tank has their own gauge. I like that.
Glad you are enjoying them Jeff! I obviously say go for it. Never met a pilot that regretted it!
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the pirep on the BAS harnesses! For sure going on in a couple months at annual.
Enjoyed the history. You guys are great for each other.
Thanks for sharing your story. And congrats on your success, which I know you both worked very hard for. Go Dawgs!
Thank you!! It's been a fun journey for sure. Go Dawgs!!
Thanks for another great video,I’m not a pilot but was an aircraft engine mechanic in the Canadian Air Force
Glad you enjoyed it Don! Thanks for your allied service!
Hey 310 went to West Ga too! Also worked for Delta. Rut is very slow here in Wayne. Hope you're having better luck than we are. Enjoyed the video.
Very cool Mark! Rut is in full swing here...just need to get out in the woods! Glad you enjoyed it. :)
Love watching your videos. Thank you for your service.
You're welcome Gene...glad you are enjoying the channel!
I agree Ben...I still love just tooling around in them. And I can actually land at my buddy's farm in them. :)
Of course she says flying is boring and sleeps most of the time except when dodging thunderstorms. The green ones are the best to get her attention 😀
thanks for your service my dad served 4 yrs Air Guard. Im Navy Vet served 7 yrs 4 of which on Carrier. my cousins ex husband is ATC super now
Thank you for your service as well Robert!
Great video! It's great to hear where you come from. I have really enjoyed watching you all in your travels. Keep bringing the videos...
Awesome..thanks Mike! Glad you enjoyed it. :)
Thank you and glad you thought so! I may have mentioned before but my Uncle was an F15E driver from Seymour-Johnson.
Enjoyed hearing your back-stories. Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it Don!
Thanks guys... apart from the Q and A, this video shows what it feels like to just cruise along, the sound of the engines beating a steady rhythm, time to relax and enjoy flying... looking forward to cruising along with you to the Bahamas... 😎
You're welcome Gilles, I'm excited to start editing the island hopping part!
That's cool that you controlled at Phoenix! I'm doing ATC at ASU and our tower and tracon professors both worked Phoenix so we simulate Phoenix for local and tracon. Our enroute professor worked ZLA so we do ZLA for the enroute sim.
Good luck in your ATC future! It's a great career. :)
I travel out to Dekalb a lot and it's cool to see you guys flying over!
Small world. One of these videos ended with me there as a snow band came across Aurora and we couldn't get in.
I’ll have to watch them all now!
I have watched other teams on youtube. And I realize it is personality but you 2 seem to be the most relaxed and "for real" channel. Not to say anything bad about the other ones but they sometimes seem a bit forced with the banter back and forth. But you probably won't read this. According to Jaimes silent "know we don't..." Another example of being for real. thanks
