For anybody seeing a mostly white render in Cycles it's because Blender switched to Filmic color space recently and this video was from before that. To fix your render, reduce each light's power by a factor of a thousand. So, the two that were 5000 should be at 5 instead. And the one at 2000 can be at 2. This was just based on trial and error, I tried just setting them to 0, since they were already that close, but it was a tad too dark. 5 and 2 seemed to work well.
Very good tutorials - Very clear, well scripted and (as others have observed) you explain what you are going to do ...and THEN you do it. This is incredibly important and a tip that many other tutors would do well to emulate. As much as I admire the skill of other practitioners, many of them seem to be just "narrating" their process after the fact. I've learned substantially more from the time spent following your channel. Thank you so much for the effort and thought that goes into these.
Only point I have that he is not talking overall but only on this specific hammer. For example "click ctrl + exactly 5 times" or He didn't make clear how the two materials on head will turn out or how it works. I had to get it by myself. But overall brilliant blender tutorial. I was struggling with materials so long because there is lack of good tutorials and 2.8 tutorials xD

Agree. This change everything. There are many tutorials, but most of them will make you feel a miserable being. This tutorial restores self-confidence.
I mean, I just started blender but this is too much, I can see why he wants to show the values and the stuff with the nodes, but like holy! I don't need to see the exact place where you put your light. In my opinion, it's a little bit controlling, I think the best thing you can do for a beginners tutorial, is to show the complicated stuff without insulting the viewer's intelligence with the most simple stuff like moving the light 3 studs.
This channel is so underrated, this is the best blender tutorial I have seen, you go so much into detail about everything and that’s exactly what I needed, thank you!
In my version of Blender (2.80b 2019-05-21) point lights have two parameters: "Power" (in Watts) and "Emission Strength". I was able to get the same results if I use "Power" instead of "Strength" (set Strength to 1.0 and Power to 5000W/2000W)

Thanks for this tutorial. I used Blender about 12 years ago...made some renders...decided to get back into it today and found that although Blender imported the files, a lot was broken. And I've been beating my head against the wall trying to get the textures to apply...let's just say the current documentation is way off. This is dead simple. Thank you again.

Being new to Blender, I have looked at a lot of tutorials, and your tutorials were the first ones I found that actually taught me something. Yours are concise, easy to follow, and each mouse click is well explained without glossing over any of the details us "newbies" often forget.
A note to new visitors: In Release Candidate 2 (July 2019), there is a separate UV Editor that you have to show in the left panel; it's not a mode of the Image Editor anymore.
