These guys look and play like a pack of wolves. So primal and angry. I love their theatrics. Man, definitely in top 10 dci lines of this decade. CMFC!
People are gonna remember this group for a long time. 2018 is the year Crown Drums turned the corner.
They've been on the up since 2015. I think they turned the corner in 2016 and just kept going.

Pretty sure 13 is the only "bad" line theyve had and they weren't even that bad. 2009 is a pretty solid year imho
I was literally about to say have you never watched 2009’s line? Sheesh. This line is just as good but nowhere near as powerful as that one (you can partially blame that on beddis’ line’s technique involving so much mf downstroking lmfao)
I will say I have been impressed by how clean they’ve been the last few years. Hannum has stepped it tf up.

This drumline was by far my fave to watch this summer. The intent of every note, the clarity in every ping, gawk, shot, and just the overall clarity of some brilliant writing. Not too mention the overall just "beastly" approach.
One of those books that strikes the balance of notes perfectly. You can tell the difference when every note feels purposeful. And can we talk about how good the tuning is across the board
Personally not a fan of the tuning but the book is nice

Lmao no sir, tuning is not great, especially quads. Was impressed with the hands though
I'm reasonably young but I thought the tuning sounded beefy. Can see why you'd dislike it it's obviously not standard. To each his own I guess. Not sure how well the tuning would cut through the mix though
The rim clicks are so crisp and I love what they did with the feature there as well with the choreo. These guys are T O P.
One thing I am certain of watching this fabulous performance is that You All Have Motorcycling Experience Too!!!!!!

IMO the best part of the Crown package this year.
Such a unique book with great vibes. Not the most technical, but I'm amazed by the energy they carry through the entire thing and the fact they the are playing clean rolls while dancing the entire time! I normally sleep on Crown drumline (although I know it's always been good), but damn this year they really came out on top for me. They really sold the feel of this book.

As a huge BD fan, I absolutely love crown. Their style and tuning is just amazing.
They redeemed their self’s in 2015, they brought it home this year, past years they haven’t been very clean.

Fletcher Myhre late reply but, yeah they’re pretty much crown indoor. Their etudes are the same for the most part and a ton of the current performers on this line were in mason the indoor season prior to this summer.
yes they are. Center 2 quads, 4 of the snares, and bottom 3 basses all marched GMU.

Pretty sure they got custom sticks from Vic Firth (Beast sticks) to get as much sound as possible

great job keeping together when playing especially at those choppy parts, keep your sustained doubles together, and keep your visual movement together, another thing that can make a huge difference is when you are finished playing, don't immediately fall apart and put your sticks away on your time, it should go freeze, sticks down/ behind the back, into one hand then away, freeze then it's on your own time. or a variant of that concept.
