Thank you man appreciate that 👍, happy it's helped someone it drove me nuts taking out the gearbox multiple times haha and buying multiple slave cylinders
For real! Been through tons of videos and have had to separate my engine twice now because of that stupid clip. It didn't click in the first time and now I can't confirm if it did or not
helped me a ton!!! thanks ! my new clutch the keeper fell out and the keeper ring slipped down. because i didnt fully understand how the mechanism worked I reinstalled and tried the clutch...yup the pedal fell straight to the floor.
Thanks a lot man, I’m currently replacing my clutch. Since the mechanic shop I took it to didn’t perform this procedure. Once I took it apart I found that was the issue, plus they didn’t even replace the uneven flywheel they had mention to replace as well. Been doing a lot of homework and just now came across this small tip, as a comment mentioned above, you’re the first one that explains this bracket and C-clip mechanism. Thanks for this extra tip!
Thanks for the explanation i have mi sti 04 and i remanufactured all clutch with new bearing buy NTN and i hey installed it gets out while i was driving and my pedal gets down, maybe i have this problem i will check thx
yeah damn thats annoying lol, how'd they mess that up, i've found good success with the Xtreme clutch kits they always come with everything except flywheel bolts and they clip in solid
@@unclebandice5205 no clue, how much of a gap does the throw out have with the pressure plate when you pull it towards the gearbox side? I’m starting to think my pressure plate is too short as well.
@@unclebandice5205 can this make a noise when you apply the clutch pedal cuz I have a brand new clutch kit from x clutch and I’m having a noise when I apply the pedal I know I have to pull the trans to see the issue but I’m just curious from another gear heads view on it
Kind of hard for me to guess what it could be without hearing the noise, and replicating it myself but i would check/double check these components Slave Cylinder - based on what kind of noise it is, it could be leaking slightly would make a noise like a squirt bottle for example, and along with slave also check Master cyl Throw out Bearing - which is the part in the video, could be worn out/or faulty out of the box, sometimes it either makes a noise non stop or when it first starts to go, as you press the pedal. Spigot/Pilot Bearing - the bearing that goes into the flywheel on Ejs (other cars generally goes into the crank) that the end of the input shaft goes into. and on a side note for noises coming from the bellhousing area - it depends what type of material the clutch is made from if its a 4 puck ceramic for example it may make a constant very faint grindingish noise which is completely normal and also Flywheel if its a dual mass for example it can also make a very faint noise like marbles which again is completely normal lastly the thing I've learnt over the years is never outright assume the new part you bought is working fine and overlook it, things come faulty out of the box even from top quality manufacturers
You are the only person on TH-cam that explains the clip that retains the throw out bearing simplistically. And I love you for that

Engineering defeat for sure
