Great video again! I tried the perch bite here where I'm at in NB. I think your video on them here was a few years ago. Its still spot on. My kids and I got them good there the last few weekends. thanks for that video!
So the thing with the mussels is to use a little smaller hook and wrap them around as best you can. Pick a good size one and run the point of your hook between the shell with just the point showing. Sheepshead seem to respond well to chumming with mussels. We are at the southern end of the mussel’s range and the best time to fish with them is around July when there seems to be a natural die off because of high water temps. As the mussel’s slough off structure the sheepshead seem to prefer them over everything else.
I am going to use smaller clumps next time (trim with scissors) to increase hook set and to conserve bait. Probably switch to a smaller hook as well. Thanks for the comment.
smaller clusters seems to work better. try treble hooks also. better yet open mussel and wrap mussel meat in cheese cloth sack, put/tie bag on hook. works in Charleston, sc!
You the man And yes we all enjoy your videos....I'm gonna try the night crawler thing soon , I'll post in one of your videos how they worked me...Keepem coming brudda
Look for "bank" mussels AKA mud mussels. They are the ones that grow in the marshes along the banks. Their shell is ribbed, not smooth like the blue mussels. They grow much bigger. Crack them, open them up. Then get that mussel "snot" goo on your hook best you can. Drop down and be ready they will slam it instantly. Good luck
Enjoy watching all the fish you put in that little skiff. Just purchased an older Carolina J16 skiff. What’s the chance of you showing off that little chair I see in the vids sometimes with your sons. Looks like a homemade rig. Mine is missing the front bench.
You have to wrap black tread around them for it to stay on the hook better....I catch sheepshead with this stuff all the time...make them smaller pieces as well
I wonder if you wrap the clusters of mussels in some ladies hosiery to keep them on the hook better? And I'm another vote for you to try using night crawlers for sheeps in an upcoming video :) Keep the videos coming.
I tried to put some mussels in a mesh bag and they wouldn’t touch them. I even tried smashing them up a bit to release scent and no takers. They are kind of finicky right now.
SECRET WEAPON - Winter Sheepshead Fishing Bait + Underwater GoPro. Sử dụng cần câu xịn quá, chúc kênh ngày càng phát triển.
I'm just staring at my screen like I'm looking at an aquarium full of Sheepshead. Awesome video, Brian! March will be here before we know it!
Look forward to your videos each week! Congrats on that massive sheepshead on a new bait! Hope to get down that way in the next few weeks!
Good to see your channel blowing up! 117,000 views in December is great

Saw a video from another youtuber and he used regular old worms and wore the sheeps out. I will be trying some if I get out anytime soon.
Thanks for sharing. Tight lines my friend.
Old Timers around here wrap em up with black thread !! I love ur chanel!!
Copy that sir, that sounds like a winner.
So many of them. Just awesome.
Wow cool. And caught on 50lb leader. Underwater footage was neat too.

You mean barnacles?
@@normanburns-ko4ro no, small blue mussels. They appear as black patches on ocean rocks and pilings in the intertidal zone.
Excellent underwater camera work! I wonder why shrimp aren't more popular with most of the summer trash fish being absent.

Wow love the Go Pro shots.

Could I suggest you use earth worms for sheepshead? Its a secret but they sure work!!!
Bro. U gotta try nightcrawlers for sheep. I’ve been seeing tons of people catching with em 👊
Hey buddy! Really enjoy your videos! Have learned a lot from you!
Awesome, thank you!

Thanks for the comment, shoot me an email and I will send some pictures of the chair. Yes it is homemade and I love it. offkilterfishing@yahoo.com

Great video. What would be better is to drop your bait near the gopro and see how the sheepies react to it.
👍👍 good vid. 😎
What bridge was that? I am getting ready to head down in five days. I would love to get on some sheepshead, but I do not know how to do it land based.

I did, three times in one day and they were all over 5 pounds. Sea Urchins are magic.
@@offkilterfishing that's awesome and I finally got my pb last week and it was a 20 incher
You can use one one at a time don’t have to waste a whole cluster
Muscles are a secret?
9:05 it's like the Sheephead army coming out of the fog!
Do you drop your GoPro down
Yeah, it's a Hero 7 Black
Nice underwater camera
