- Today presented us with a unique set of circumstances. We had a cold North East wind (average morning temperature was 38 degrees) and a slow and very timid fish bite. We challenged ourselves to land at least one 25" Black Drum or a 16" fork length Sheepshead. This was not an easy task, but we did manage to get the job done. It all comes down to "HOW BAD YOU WANT IT"! We could have easily thrown in the towel. Get out there and be somebody!

Fresh bait matters. Catch Mud Crabs under "stuff", below the high tide line (Wear Gloves, oyster cuts are nasty). The purple crabs with spots and striped legs are stone crabs and are illegal to possess.

Slow day with a couple nice fish/. Enjoyed watching till I can go try. There was some nice sheeps swimming down there. One really large one. TY.
Thank you for the little doses of being on the water. Helps hold me over til I can make it down there next.
Nice boat brother! Been waiting to see it. Another great video.
We're heading down tomorrow to see if we can scare up some Tog. Got 3 bags of sandfleas and shrimp to feed to them, lol.
Hey man. How heavy and what hook size were those banana jigs?
That was a 1 ounce with a 2/0 hook Jawbreaker Jig
@@offkilterfishing is a 2/0 your favorite size? I used the 3/0 Gamakatsu hooks you recommended last week and they worked great. I’m wondering if I need the 3/0 hooks now on the banana jigs. Thoughts?
@@LowCountryFishing I go back and forth honestly and don't really have a preference. Try both and see what works best for you. I do prefer smaller hooks in the winter and bigger hooks in the summer. Good Luck sir!
Keep them videos coming !! Tight Lines Captain !!
It's been hard over here in Palacios tx also
Tons of fish down there but they got the lockjaw! Is that your boat or your buddy's?
This is Josef’s boat, luxurious ride.
@@offkilterfishing Nice skiff. I keep thinking about all those Sheepies down there. Oh well, you'll get em next time!
I like being the thumbnail occasionally
Been looking at getting a jon boat to fish that area. Do you think it is doable in a 1436 or not? Just wanting something easy to take down since I live closer to the mountains. I have a bass boat just worried about the salt on it
I maybe over looking it but have you done clean and cook videos? I do love your videos.O what brand and model of fish net do you use I really like it?
Bottom sweepers are terrible for bent points too. Lost many nice sheeps to bent points.
Wow it’s crazy how many fish are on the GoPro
I've been working on our 14 footer and looking forward to changing it up from kayak fishing this spring and summer.
Get after it, see you on the water!
How is the Clearwater boat? Looks solid
Good to see you on the water. You are in a different boat this time and a depth finder. Do you trade coats . Tight lines my friend 😊
That must not be the bridge at Newport River, unless they switched the wood with metal.
Man you use green crabs are mud crabs 🦀 great video man
Went out to the pivers bridge during that north easterly and got totally skunked
Hard fishing this time of year, keep at it...
@@offkilterfishing is the fishing better on Warmer days? Or does that just make it more comfortable
@@mwcubed. I have had good and bad with both, I fish when I can. It is more comfortable on warm days though.
