I like most of the TVR's, Not so keen on the wedge though. I remember in the days of Ed China on 'Wheeler Dealers' he replaced the chassis on a TVR, quite a difficult job as I recall even for him! Not to be undertaken lightly. The new car could be interesting, let's hope that one day it arrives. Thanks Rick for another collection.👍👍
Excellent collection. I have always thought that the Chimera and Cerbera are one hell of a sexy car especially when finished in the pearlescent purple or blue.
As an owner of a Griffith 500HC, I can tell you they are fantastic fun to drive. Mine hasn't broken down during an outing. Yes, wiring isn't the best ever but 99% of any issues are easily fixed.
thankyou for this fantastic video,.. i’m formally a porsche nut and have owned one since age 17 ( yes a proper porsche nut ) saved hard and bought a 944 at 17,.. absolutely love them,.. have my favourite 944 turbo heavily modified and a lovely 986 … However … i have been longing to buy my first TVR and am searching for a nice Sv8 or a S3c in burgundy or racing green ,… originally fancied a chimera but i live older cars and there lines and dashes ect , and thibk i will continue the hunt for a S3c or SV8 in the colour combo that does it for me … i love both these colours with that beutifall toffee / beige interia with the piping to match the body colour and silver handbrake and gear knob….. just find these stunning to look at and can’t wait to experience the the source and drive of one one day hopefully 🤞…… wish i looked at these years ago now ,.. feel like i’ve missed out on such unique sports cars look forward to watching more of yr vids … i have subscribed atb Daniel
Nice to see all the cars, great looking machines. Point of note in reference to the yellow convertible M, they were actually an S variant called the 3000S and very desirable….
Another heart warming video . I don't ever remember seeing a 100E in such pristine condition back in the day. I learnt how to recognise a pre war Riley by it's windows so that was good. Your Dad's Connie was lovely and so good he got it back after all those years. It reminded me of back in the 60s our junior school was under the glide path to Northolt airport. And I remember seeing Constellations regularly. I can still see an Indian Airforce Connie sitting on the tarmac in my mind's eye. So thanks for that. Looking forward to the next video.
Back in the early 1960s when I was about to take my driving test I remember seeing only one TVR around my home town and that was a Grantura - and I bought a road test magazine that featured lots of sports cars including the Grantura and E-Type Jag and even a Facel Vega. But one thing that made me do a double-take was reading the spec of the Grantura I spotted the Ground- clearance was 1½" Yes one and a quarter inches and I thought at the time - I wonder how many cracked their sump going over rough bits of road? There were no speed bumps back then but I imagine if that was a true close to ground measurement cars like that would ground out now and be stranded on the top!! TVRs were for the rich - I was in the 50 quid old banger class!! I dreamed !
In the late 1950s my elder bother worked at Odham's Press and in his spare time built go cart kits for his daughters, this caught on with friends and neighbors. Plus he's a selft taught motor mechanic. Local lads would call by for a tune up at his house garage, one day a lad with a Ford Special open sports car complete with cable brakes called by to have it hotted up. Brother refused as he could make it faster but stopping was the problem. Ken suggested the lad Martin get a Lotus 7 kit and that he's build it for him. Lads' dad came by and lond story short dad bought the kit and also happened to have a vacant lock up garage. Ken started a tuning shop. Took on a TVR dealership Martin left engineering college and wanted a TVR, Ken knew they were in trouble, So Martins dad bought TVR out. The last time I saw Martin was at Brands Hatch with a V8 model, hacking the wheel arches out to fit wet tyres. Ken was entering an Elva BMW, as he now built Elvas Couriers for export as a sub-contractor to Trojan.
Enjoyable video thank you. Although I'm not a sports car person , I did enjoy driving a mates 1974 E Type Jag down the M3 in 1989, but I just stayed on the inside lane lol 😂 He purchased it new and still owns it to this day. A Daimler Dart I wouldn't mind, other than that I'll stick to my Ford Granada 2.8 Ghia X Estate so practical. I know I'm boring 😂
@@oldclassiccarUK They sure are like most estates they were used as vans really by say painter and decorators etc. Many destroyed by the banger racers including all Granada meets. I can't take mine and leave it anywhere as it would be gone. This would happen with Rover P4s , Austin Cambridge and the like. So many destroyed by banger racers. And they pay good money for them.
I am well stricken in years, so I remember a report that said that TVR brand was the most unreliable car, ever, on British roads...or something like that. Anyone? Peace be unto you.

HS TVR ever made an ugly car. I think not. My favourites are the 60-70's cars. Very nice.
