I think more than 1cm must be cut from the knuckle. Others have cut almost 2cm off and give better angle. Thanks for the ackermann correction technique 👍 For others attempting this, before welding remove your wheel bearing and preheat the hub. After welding you must not let it cool too fast otherwise it is prone to crack due to the material the hub is made of. (Different thermal expansion coefficient compared to the weld material itself 👍)
Kaip jau kažkas minėjo. Kalbėkit lietuviškai. Titrai padės visada. O blogiausiu atveju vertimą balsu padaryti žmogaus kuris nepriekaištingai kalba angliškai bet nepaisant to. Tikrai laukiam daugiau tokių video ;)
Usually I see guys put some serious heat onto the spindle spot your going to weld. Make it cherry red then weld it . Cool it slowly with a torch. That is how you weld cast steel or those could break. Thanks for showing your Jig setup.
I see people already have expressed their concerns about safety.. lol In all seriousness though, I cut myself in my thumb because the angle grinder grip up and drove itself right up my thumb so I had to go to hospital to have my hand fixed as some joints was cut off. Im happy I was wearing gloves, If I wouldnt, id have a permanently broken thumb. Always use eye protection because the plate can break and throw out projectiles everywhere, perphaps damage your eye if youre unfortunate. So please, get some nice eye protection and some tough gloves when doing this kinda stuff Otherwise, Good video!
whats better for more angle having a tie rod cutting and stock control arms or tie rod giving a lot of toe out and extending lower control arms or they are the same ?
When you steer the car to the left for example, the inside wheel will steer more than the outside wheel because of it has a less distance to travel (the steering circle is smaller), so, will this modification change something around the system that does that?
This is ackerman angle. We change it to zero, so both wheels will always steer the same. It's better at big drifting angles, front wheels won't start slipping.
Hy Guys Great vid! I ready this modify but a litle scarry.. you have experience? no broken this parts? maybe you have a problem during use? i wait you reaply Thx Benjamin
Hey, best is to use 16" or 17" but with low-profile tires, you can easily find rims with ET20 or ET15 ET13 from E34 or E39* *with center ring If you want to use your current wheels, you will have ET13 with 25mm spacers, with low-profile tires it will work!
Good video. What would you recommend though - modified hubs (like in the vid) or 30% adapters? Also what about e46 arms, I'm just looking at every affordable option :)
+Karim Seif A bit late, but "And dont forget to put lower offset rims to the front to avoid tire rubbing into the chassis. So either e34/e32 wheels in the front, or spacers.
Chebra pasidžiaukit o ne kritikuoki ;) Ką gal ir B. Vanagui pradėsit aiškint kokio velnio pradėjo vykdyt tarptautinę komunikaciją. Lietuva yra mažiau nei pusė Londono rinka. Pagalvokit patys. Niekas čia nekalba apie patriotiškumo išdavimą ir panašiai. Mažiau kritikuokit daugiau darykit patys. Good Job norbeFilms, i hope Ignas will improve english skills a lot by creating these videos ;)
Its so cool hearing you guys speak english after watching your videos for years
Trevor Phillips yes it is and the only language i know

This is true. 1cm is not enough. I have done exactly 1cm with good results. But 2cm is better. Dont go more than that if you don't know what you doing
*Says don't forget gloves and safety glasses in the video description.*
*Does all the job without safety gear* you guys are awesome! Great video!
I bet the German Tüv would love to see that :D :D
This was very educating! And thank's for the english! Cheers from Latvia!

Not bad, make more DIY's for e36
Tikrai geriau būtų lietuviškai ir angliški titrai. Ar bent jau apvirksčiai :)

Great video friend, but in need of more light. (The American accent when he said "God Dammit" was hilarious btw)
yeah LOL goddamit hahah
So with a shorter steering arm length, you can turn the wheel more??
What is the cramp like tool at 2:21 & what is its purpose? Thanks.
Nice video guys!!!
Props to have sorted out your english for everyone ^^.
I am not an english native speaker also.
wow precision engineering to the max, love it!
Would this decrease your turning radius at low speeds too? Or would the car just plow?
Awesome video! Keep it up!
whats better for more angle having a tie rod cutting and stock control arms or tie rod giving a lot of toe out and extending lower control arms or they are the same ?

Madd Morris doesn't E36 have a ton of aftermarket support that you can just buy new ones?
Kaip tik šito ieškojau, manau pavyks pasidaryt, ačiū!
Awesome! Have been wondering about this for a time now....
Taip netyčia užklydau čia, tik užteko 2s jūsų raišlios anglu kalbos, kad pažint sava tautybe. :D bet šaunuoliai vyrai, patiko, suskraibinu.

Hy Guys Great vid!

Thx Benjamin
Will that work in miata too? (NA 1990)
Hello, why do i have to cut that tirerod end shorter? what happens if i dont do it? I am modding ford sierra's parts.
It increases the toe angle of the alignment
hay guys i cant find a wat to get more angle out my w124
how much angle did he earn?
Maladec, dar kaip diff uzvirint galetumet tutoriala padaryt :)
Maladiec, manau reiktu daugiau tokiu klipuku, nes nemazai kas iesko info ir ne visada lengva jos rast apie ivairius mod'us :)
Hi guys,

Thanks
Thierry
Great vid guys :) Best of luck.. and lock as well :D
Did you say this would work on audis?
the name of last song in the video?
Does changing the Ackerman angle to zero effect the turn-in response much?
Not much, but during daily driving you can feel small change.
So I can still use as daily driver?
would you guys have some tips for cheap mods in the opel omega a?
I cut 20mm off but have lots of tyre rub on body, i have 17x7.5 et38.......will 25mm wheel spacers be enough? Thanks.
Hey, best is to use 16" or 17" but with low-profile tires, you can easily find rims with ET20 or ET15 ET13 from E34 or E39*

Kavinsky in the soundtrack, awesome!
Let me know if this will work on e30 IX?
i thought you had to pre heat cast iron before welding?
how about a supra mk4? same thing to do?
Kokius suvirinimo aparatus naudojate?
has this ever gave any trouble after this modification
just welding not thought enough as casting, cause welding not fill the snap point
Jack Snype you can always pre heat the cast steel to around 300 degrees f if you're concerned about cracks from welding cast
dudes, you can not weld cats iron I just wondered where did you guys get that idea?
Good video. What would you recommend though - modified hubs (like in the vid) or 30% adapters? Also what about e46 arms, I'm just looking at every affordable option :)
This is cheaper than adapters. E46 arms are not necessary.
Good tires for winter, Ignas :D
Thx this realy help me out :D Awesome you speak english now

at 7:30
Karim Seif and will i need wheel spacers after doing this steering lock or not ???
+Karim Seif A bit late, but "And dont forget to put lower offset rims to the front to avoid tire rubbing into the chassis.
So either e34/e32 wheels in the front, or spacers.
Lower offset wheels
will this work on e39 ???

love it!, shame for me that i cant do it myself
make more DYI videos !
Gerai varo angliskai
normaliai, tik tas ryškus rytų europos akcentas visad yra
Kipper del to reik stengtis sneket britisk uakcentu ir su britiskom R raidem nes amerikonu akcenta ne visiems ivaldyt sekasi
+x19Julius92x Hahaha, Kuris is Britu akcentu tau ryskiausias??? Amerikosu akcentas yra lengviausias is visu angliskai kalbanciu saliu.
+Kipper Kokiu akcentu jie turi sneket? Pietu afrikos?
E30 knuckles cant be cut.. you gotta fab some blocks to move the mounting points... Also.. rack spacers
Net google beveik ne vieno zodzio nesupranta. Vistiek jei kurs toliau, turetu tik geret jo kalba. Prasikalbes laikui begant ;D
