I’m so glad that you are having a great time in our country with your kids.😊
I liked the way you ordered. Try many different foods and find the dish you like❤. We don’t like to waste food so it’s ok to share with your family 😊
We say “ Itadakimas “ before we eat something. Which means thanks to all the lives we eat and to the cooks who made the meal and workers who supply us the food.
Please enjoy your life in Japan. We are all welcome ❤

You sure picked a fun sushi-train tiny restaurant to take your little ones to. Lucky for you that little Willa seemed eager to try these new foods (and hopefully Miss Noa will follow her elder sister's example). While soy sauce does make food more palatable [and its offered everywhere , please try to use it sparingly as it's almost entirely salt and too much of it can result in speedier thirst and more frequent bathroom visits, etc.
Thanks so much for sharing your views of the cuisine and I'm interested to see how you two deal with traditional (and adapted) Japanese desserts!

Fun to see the family's reactions, and lots more to try 🙂 And you're right there's a wide variety of quality for yakiniku or sushi, so worth comparing different places on Japanese sites like Tabelog (I find Tabelog's review scale is much harsher, where a very good place can be rated a 3.5+ out of 5).
One item that's often overlooked abroad but is a fun favorite I take visitors to is Kushi-katsu, or deep fried skewers (different than Tempura, which is also good of course). There are good and cheap chains like Kushikatsu Tanaka, or more high end ones with more fancy items.

According to the Japanese who love sushi, the sea urchin in the cheap chain sushi restaurant is imported from Chile and is not very tasty. Real Japanese sea urchin is sweet and delicious, so it seems to be completely different from Chilean sea urchin. But it's so expensive that you can only eat it in high-end sushi restaurants.😣

of course it had to be a food video, as announced :D
but before i forget - a quick note about last weeks video, where you were looking at the puppies in that store or whatever. just a horrible way to see how the japanese present and market young puppies in such a tiny cage like area, specially when in the - perhaps - most important phase of their young life, they need to learn as many new things as possible to get socialized; and i'm not talking about "sit" or "lay down" but more like gettin into contact with many different people, other animals, making experiences to walk on different surfaces, riding in a car or the train etc etc.
it was super disappointing and sad to see, how japan use puppies as some sort of "toy" marketing. but that also applies to many other countries. never buy animals from like a supermarket like store, you can be almost 100% sure that they are not treated well and def. dont get the attention they need from the staff. thats my little rant about last weeks content.
as for todays video - some stuff looked tasty indeed. i wonder if the wasabi is real in japan. caus mostly in europe, wasabi is just colored horseradish, since real wasabi is pretty expensive. i'm curious what you gonna explore over the next few months.. i'm also intereted in the cost of living (in comparison to europe and the usa) but that would be too early to break down.
and like last time, i gotta end on a couple of questions for you:
    - what are the rules for the kids when it comes to daycare / kindergarten? is it optional or do you have to find a place for willa - or is even the army base taking care in some shape of form?
    - how is the social security system be like? did you have to get your own specific insurances or are you covered by the us gov. since you're kind of a tourist in some way?
    - are you going to dip into the roasted/dried insects snacks anytime? i guess the audience would like to see you munch on some crickets, bugs, scorpions and whatever they might have there :D
    much love from germany
