I'm a revert too and I'm learning about Islam and I also don't know much about these things but whenever I am confronted by anyone about the prophet, it always makes sense to me to defend him with all my might because only a man with the best of character could possibly be blessed with such a miraculous Quran. The Quran is not a normal book and therefore could not have been bestowed onto any Joe Shmoe.
The funny part is that even as a new Muslim, in my real life, I've only heard attacks on the prophet made by weak or fake Muslims. I've only had to defend the prophet to so called Muslims. The only other people I've talked to have been family, friends and co-workers. And even if they believe him to be a false prophet, they have never dared to insult him in my presence. I don't know why only Muslims around me have had the guts because I have never been rude to anyone or intimidated anyone to scare them straight. On the contrary, I try my best to have patience and mercy towards ignorance.
But anyway, my point is this. It seems to me that born Muslims are being replaced with Reverts to represent Islam correctly. My advice, and I'm learning too, is to be the New Ansar, by arming yourself with knowledge. Allah, in truth, will never let us down.

Abosulutely agree ... so when it states that the "He is created frm a gushing fluid that issued between the loins and ribs" (86:7), that is of course an impecably correct description o fhuman biology, right ?
or is it that Allah does not seem to know that semen is genereted in the testicles ?
or is it that, this book reflects no more than what people knew 1500 years ago (and that is how we know it is written by man)..
      what you think ?
In my opinion, for an omniscient omnipoten god that revealed the asolute truth in a book that is for all eternity and that is easy to understand (Maryam ayat-97), even an iota of doubt and need for human interpretation should cause us to abandon it.
We must hold it to the highest standard of evidemce, right ?

As salaam alaikum. We are skirting around the issue here. We should be clear and not fearful to offend.
There was such a thing as indebted servitude BEFORE Islam and Slavery.
But let's not confuse the two. Let's not confuse the way captives of war or people wear taken and forced into the most brutual violent slavery that occured in the transatlantic slave trade.
This is outright impermissible and forbidden in numerous clear hadith which give so many rights to the person who is called a "slave".
They are to be looked after, fed properly, clothed, housed and to be treated with the respect and educated. They are allowed to lead the salah. A slave leading the prayer in the transatlantic slave trade, would be hung from a tree. If he was teaching or reading he would be executed.
The Quran and hadith are clear when it talks about one of the most noble deeds being the freeing slaves.
But we cannot state that the Islam forbade taking captives of war.
It is a right upon the one defending their lives against the aggressor to take them into bondage.
The permissible of having sexual relations with female slaves captured during war is clear.
This was the case before Islam and after in all nations.
The difference is that Islam gave rights to the slave, and any children born of the woman became the fathers child with full rights to inheritance and freed.
This would NEVER happen in any other nation. The child born from such relations is rejected and thrown into slavery.

In Islam you are not allowed to make slaves. Period. Prophet Mohammad ﷺ used to set the slaves free as well as Sahaba Karam. They don't used to make people their slaves after wars except at the case of treason of Banu Quraiza. Please don't spread the wrong information. Check the authentic reference from the Quran.
    Reference: SURAH MUHAMMAD AYAT 4
    Translation by ABUL ALA MAUDUDI:
"When you meet the unbelievers (in battle), smite their necks until you have crushed them, then bind your captives firmly; thereafter (you are entitled to) set them free, either by an act of grace, or against ransom, until the war ends. That is for you to do. If Allah had so willed, He would have Himself exacted retribution from them. (But He did not do so) that He may test some of you by means of others. As for those who are slain in the way of Allah, He shall never let their works go to waste."

@@Mohamed--AdenYour problem is you're thinking everything happened in a blink of an eye, for instance the Quran came to Prophet through Angel Jibril and then boom! It's done, finish, there's nothing in between, there's no duration or process. This is a common mistake of people who look at history and historical events without comprehension, hence rejecting the sequel of events.
To understand Islam, you must understand the history and sequence of events in it, not just throwing verses after verses or Hadith without any understanding of when it actually happened.

    • @Mohamed--Aden
      @Mohamed--Aden 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@@nutzhazel Islam is not thirsty for the blood of prisoners, nor is it eager to enslave them.
“And such of your slaves as seek a writing (of emancipation), give them such writing, if you find that there is good and honesty in them. And give them something (yourselves) out of the wealth of Allah which He has bestowed upon you.” [al-Nur 24:33]
Allah in general terms like above and specific terms (like for forgiveness for various sins) recommends we free slaves.(which scholars believe to be Mustahab or even Obligatory in the case they are good like in the above ayah)
Even the buying of a slave in order to free them and the allocation of zakah funds in order to free slaves.
And they have the right to free themselves at any point if they choose to buy their freedom.
Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “They are your brothers whom Allah has put under your authority, so if Allah has put a person’s brother under his authority, let him feed him from what he eats and clothe him from what he wears, and let him not overburden him with work, and if he does overburden him with work, then let him help him.” Narrated by al-Bukhari (6050).
They were by law meant to be treated very well and tried to be free but it was definitely allowed and still is if in the context of prisoners of war (if the war is open between both sides and done correctly not just any extremist)
So denying the ayah in Ahzab can constitute kufr which is another ayah mentioned in Ahzab
Allah says: “And it is not possible for a believer when Allah and his Rasool have deciding something to have a choice (whether he should accept it or not).”
Do you see why I was correcting them?

    Slavery in islam
this context, it is not so much what Islam says about slavery, but what slavery says about contemporary Islamic societies where slavery is prevalent. (As I mentioned, slavery is a commonplace human institution and occurs even in non-Islamic societies to this day: Modern Slavery Facts - Walk Free) The real question is that despite so many textual admonitions against slavery, why have they been ignored by so many for so long? Why did Islamic societies after a period of great expansion and intellectual stimulation, slow down and seem to want to stop progressing in nearly every aspect of civilization? Unfortunately, this is not the quick or easy answer that some people want to hear: some want to hear, “The Qu’ran is an evil book”. Consider that the the Old Testament is far more approving (What the Old Testament says about slavery) of slavery than the Qu’ran. In my view, the Qu’ran is as good or evil as any other religious text: it all really depends on the sincerity of the believer. But taken as a whole, the Qu’ran is anti-slavery.

@@AmirKhan-pm8cb no issue u we’re saying this had no basis so I gave u earliest source.
That one page describes what happened to safiyas father how her husband kinana was burnt on his chest to try to make him give
Up his treasure he eventually passed away from this and then also the life of her brother was taken. First safiya was Muhammad soldiers share of the war booty when Muhammad heard how beautiful she was he took her from him. And took her to bed same night he did that to his father.
I’m not saying whether this is right or wrong I’m just describing what that page says (u can read it as well if u want it’s free online to read it)
And that there is basis for this.

@@sarahkhan443 so, the rules of the waiting period do not apply in cases like that of Safiyya(r.a). Waiting Period (‘iddah) is an implication of a marriage valid in the eyes of Islamic law i.e for 4 months. Whereas Safiyya(r.a) had been taken as a captive after a conquest, her marriage was rendered nullified because her husband had not come along.

@@sarahkhan443 So in this case, therefore, the relevant rule was not of ‘iddah (waiting period) but rather that of istibra’. Istibra’ (lit. to free) means to assure that the womb of a woman is empty. This assurance could be reached through one menses as well which authentic reports(abu dawood 2995) say did happen in the case of Safiyya(r.a)
