Very cool! I was gonna say that koala is already a beast on its own when it comes to resampling, but yeah if you want to introduce things from other apps, combining it with AUM is perfect! Nice!
Thank you greatly Pete fir this excellent tutorial on resampling / sounds creation using your voice with Koala and Aum! Greatly appreciated to this ol’ synth programmer! 😃👏🏻👏🏽✌🏻🖖🏽🇨🇦
Fantastic workflow ideas. This solved one of my biggest challenges with Koala which is resampling easily with effects back into the app. Great tutorial!
one way i resample on ios is just screen record while playing with apps , then extract the audio using a video editor app like Luma Fusion . i have AUM and i know its great from all the vids ive seen people using it , its just so deep that i find it hard to learn and i already have some hardware that has big learning curves so ive never dove into AUM yet . one of these days i probably will , but for ease the screen record then extract audio trick is handy . after extracting audio you send it to files or audioshare or whatever file manager you use to import to apps.
Awesome stuff! You’ve given me a variety of things to try in my next AUM session.. wow, koala + AUM are an amazing pair..Aren’t we a lucky bunch to have such creative apps on our iDevices? Thanks for sharing your workflow.. 🙏
My pleasure! Yes, absolutely - combining Koala and AUM genuinely does provide an almost limitless workflow and one which I regular use on an iPhone 6s which, secondhand, is pretty much the most affordable, yet absurdly powerful, music production suite imaginable
@@PeteSasqwax for sure. And the more I dig into this, the less other gear I feel I need. Been playing with the FRMS granular app this evening and it's proper awesome. Hooked up my Bass Station 2 as a voice and a midi controller, plus a drum machine and Vector Sequencer all going into AUM and it feels a really coherent setup.
@@Jimantronic that's the key thing I'm currently wrangling with, funnily enough: finding the most effective way to combine all the devices I have into one coherent setup. I've got a few hardware synths, outboard effects and old iOS devices, all of which offer amazing potential for a unified studio. I can't quite decide on the sequencing element as yet, particularly as I'm keen to use it with some kind of hardware interface, but I'm sure I'll have it nailed soon enough
@@PeteSasqwax It's the eternal challenge! 🙂It does feel like I'm closer than ever though. Right now I'm using the Five12 Vector for note sequencing plus a Perkons Drum Machine. I've just ordered a Hapax though. The current plan is Bass Station 2 and Moog Sirin, Mic with a Perform VE pedal for realtime harmonising via midi control, extra input for a guitar, Perkons or maybe TR-6s on drums. AUM or Loopy Pro as the central mixer/effects/looper via an Arturia Audiofuse Studio. I also have a Tasty Chips GR-1, but wondering if I should just do granular on the ipad with FRMS or similar.
@@Jimantronic oh, man - the Sirin is the only piece of gear I've sold and really regretted. I had a Grandmother as well at the time and decided that both was overkill... then realised (after I'd sold it) that I just didn't have enough space to accommodate the GM. Granular was the one thing that brought me closest to going down the modular rabbithole but iOS handles that for me these days and I have a couple of old docked iPads dedicated to exactly that. Of all the things that tested my resolve, MN Morphagene was the hardest to resist! I'm attempting to convince myself that I'm not jealous of your Perkons - that thing is insanely beautiful in all senses of the word!

Come for the resampling, stay for the unicycles. Crystal clear explanation mate, nicely done!
Thank you, mate, that's a huge relief to hear!

Thanks Pete! Another awesome tutorial!
Thank you, mate!
I stayed for the sound Design, unexpected 💎
Just a joy to watch and hear Pete, thank you! ❤

Excellent tutorial, AUM definitely takes Koala to another level, not just for getting sounds out of (multi-out), but back in 👍🏻🐨😎
Thanks, mate. Yeah, AUM - and this workflow especially - literally transformed the way I make music.
Love the new tutsday concept you guys got started there! 🎉
Ha! I'm just riding Danny's coattails 😉
Nice workflow man.
Thanks, mate - hope it's useful
@@PeteSasqwax Im literally getting into video editing and going to drop some of my koala stuff soon so will defo holla you.
@@thegroove2000 quality - looking forward to it
@@PeteSasqwax I have just bought AUM. Oh my. Its essential.
@@thegroove2000 shit yeah!
absolut great job, sir
Thank you, mate - glad it's of some use!
Cheers Pete. What a great self-contained sound design playground 🙂
Honestly, mate, I've never had a workflow that could touch this, either in terms of speed or flexibility
