    Thanks, even 4 years after you created this clip this still very helpful. So far I used AUM as Mixer and MIDI router but never for recording.

    You make learning AUM such a NOT-overwhelming experience. I was sitting on the fence about buying it but I do need SOMETHING and I think this AUM is the “something” to help me combine the other apps I have in outcomes I can’t even predict right now! 😄😄👍🏼👍🏼

    Great content bro, I am new to AUM and am finding your videos very helpful. I was looking for a way to pull all my different software bits like Korg Module and BeatHawk together so I can use it for live performances and AUM is perfect. I also noticed you commenting on surpassing 200 subs which resonated with me as I remember being there around 2 years ago. We both have similar amounts of subscribers now so let’s hope our channels can keep growing. I’ve just subscribed and all the best buddy.

    Thank you so much for making all these great AUM tutorials. I just got it and coming from Ableton I was completely lost with it. Now I feel like I’m getting somewhere with it.

      Funny, I just got Ableton since I finally have a MacBook that can handle it, so I may need to get some tips from you!

    • @LillySchwartz

      @@MobileMusicMaker oh that’s really cool! When I learned Ableton like 15 years ago it totally blew my mind, because I couldn’t get my head around linear DAWs. Before it was all copy & pasting drum samples on a timeline, which was so tedious! Then Ableton showed up and working with loops got so much easier! The grid view just made it nicer to improvise while still having stuff pre-planned. You can kinda do similar things in AUM with Atom and LK, but it’s definitely a different mindset!
      There is an amazing Ableton course on Skillshare by the way: Ultimate Ableton Live. I always go through his courses when there is a new version, very good instructor! I took a long break from making music and this course was also what got me up to date with the new functions! I’m sure you can get through the course during a skillshare trial!

    Very educational Logan, many thanks ! I have one question.AUM can you use for example ravenscraft and record and use it on the background and then use for example synthesia to play something while recording on AUM? with GarageBand I think this is not possible, you have to stay on GarageBand. A very good tip as well on audioshare !

  • @bobclark5360

    Hi..I can't seem to find the answer anywhere in the manual..all my Audio unit play simultaneously. I want to use my External Keyboard to play individual synths or piano or bass but they all play. I get the idea of midi channels but in a daw all I do is click on the track and ONLY that instrument plays. There's no need to have to set each track to a different midi channel. What am I missing?

    • @MobileMusicMaker
      @MobileMusicMaker  ปีที่แล้ว

      Your keyboard is probably sending midi on all channels. You need to set it to a single channel, then in AUM set the AU you want to be played to that same channel.

      Benjamin DeMers Only during the learning of it. It’s great when you have it under your fingers and develop a workflow that works for you. I just use it as like a glue for my other DAW apps. So it doesn’t effect my creativity because it’s used as a mixer more than a DAW.

      You can create a mix bus that will record in stereo and send all of the outputs to that bus. It’s also handy for adding compression or any other effects you might want to. I go over that in this video: AUM User Guide Part 1- Basics: Channels

    Still lost no sound. It would help if the demo wasn’t demoed on a computer. No finger Action . I think figured out one thing , choosing midi result s no sound routed to the main audio out. It would be nice if step one was ALWAYS tar with an audio track . So you using a mixer and a desktop or laptop yes? V been looking for demo we’re just an iPad Pro and the finger is being used no external gear . Peace Christo👽

    • @MobileMusicMaker
      @MobileMusicMaker  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm a little confused by your comment. This video was created entirely with my iPad, I just have a mouse connected so you can see where I clicked. I think I can solve your problem with no sound, though: a Midi track has to be linked to an audio source to create sound, so for example, if you are creating a sequence with Rozeta Cells, it needs to be connected to an AU of some kind that produces sound, such as Model 15 or Ravenscroft 275. Then the midi will be sent into the synth to create the sound.

    • @christoroppolo8742

      @@MobileMusicMaker sorry my mistake. I just can’t justify AUM . It ruined my experience on the iPad Pro . And now it’s like the go to thing of course .because it’s all over designed now . Interface elegance went out the window with this and euro rack too. Synths and a daw are replaced with this confusing thing . Go figure . But that’s not your fault . Peace 👽
