This DA increase for central Government Employees is applicable. But the condition is so funny. Unless the arrears is considered only when it touches above 50%. At any given point of time if the DA is not more than arrears are forgotten. It is a variable factor.

The retired person has no benefit। They never get Increment, HRA, and other allowance।
employees have higher basic pay & pensioners have lesser vasic pay.
hence dearness relief should be at least twice of dearness allowance ..

Already budget announced by central government but why the DA his carry forward in the month of March'2024. Regular DA announce in the month of January '2024. Why to delay the DA carry forward to all central government employees and Pensioners in the month of March '2024 ?
Generally, the DA will be announced after the implementation of new yearly budget and will be paid in April which is due to fund allotment. Moreover the calculation would be finalised properly only in the end of Feb or March only

If 50% D.A merged with basic pension what is the benefit to the pensioners. As we are not eligible for any allowances, the benifit to the pensioner is only in hundreds.
No benefits to pensioner due to increase of DA 50%. If merger taken place there is a chance of increase in the pension. But it will not happen now
As long as OROP is there C. G servants are happy. But in Private sectors thay never happens. Please for example my company name Not disclosing salary during my time was 700 rupees per month. But the same company pays today 54000 rupees per month. Assume after retirement he gets a pension od 25000 minimum. No OROP. But in Central Services that is not so.
No OROP for central pensioners. It is for the defence. Still it is not implemented fully there also. More ambiguity. We cannot compare with others
Central Government employees are far better placed only after retirement. But where as the exempted organizations as Employees earne far better salary iand good perks. But after retirement mist of us get not more than 2500. As for our Government any increase I'd unpruductive so they will never agree. Worst comes those who retired prior to 2003 September may also be brought into the NPS scheme.

As for P&T is concerned very funny rule was in place. My brother was in Postal Audit services A subsidy of P&T. Actually at the time of entry he was in P&T omly. Then transferred to this Audit. One. What is funny is if hundred lromotion vacancies come o nly10% @ten pists are only for Audit. Suppose every gear thrre are omly nine vacancies tgen Audit dept. Gets nothing as, 9 is less than one. So like that if every year not more than ten comes they never get any promotion. Kerala court turned down and my brother got promotion and huge arrears also.
my father retired from P&T Audit long ago & used to get less salary & less pension :(
after he expired, my mother had also got less family pension for a long time until about 2 years ago ..
of course, she is getting good amount from last 2 years or so, still inadequate for our living :(

Sir, first of all, a million thanks for your simple, comprehensible elaboration of the extent of D A increase from 01.01.2024 for CG employees and the other consequential benefits thereof. But, looking at the progress of increase in the AICPIN (Base=2016), aren't you compelled to suspect the genuineness of the computation? For November 2023 it is supposed to be 139.1, which gives a paltry average increase of 4.88% which is far from credible. Doesn't this point towards some deliberate manipulation of the index numbers by the government just to suppress the inflation and economise on salary expenditure on Govt staff?
That is there. I have challenged the same when I was holding the post of General Secretary in the Postal Union. I know all these gimmacks
