Great comparison, been looking for one for ages, finally one in crisp HD and great narration! Thanks.

+Mike R Hi Mike, thanks for the kind words! I've been getting better at tricking the camera phone into staying focused on the foreground watch rather than the base board of my light box. In a month or so, my TH-cam production budget is going to peg the meter, so my video quality should be an order of magnitude better than this.
      Best,
      Tim

I have the 116610 and 216570, and am adding this 116600 to my collection. I think it absolutely looks the part with its 114060-symmetrical look and without the Cyclops. Thanks for the informative video and can't wait to have this great piece in my collection.

Great video! I was on the market for a Deep Sea but ended up with the sweet spot and bought a Sea Dweller. Thank you!

I have a question. Wears the sub 114060 bigger on the wrist then the Sea Dweller 4000? Thanks!

Tim, who do you hold the bracelet while the watches are on your wrist as opposed to just buckling them?

Very nice comparison. Not keen on these maxi-cases, but gorgeous pieces.

Great info! Love the on wrist shots and the dimensions help me compare with my Tag Aquaracer.

Love this comparison. I've been looking for a good comparison of Rolex's dive watches: size, length, height, and general feel. Thank you! On the fence between Submariner and Sea Dweller.

Jsuarez6 : Did you decide? I had the same struggle. Decided on the Sub. It wasn't easy to decide but the thickness of the SD4k was too much for my taste.

Hi Tim, fantastic comparison and great reviews of all 3 watches but every time I think I've decided on what my first Rolex should be, I watch another one of your videos and am torn again lol. I know everyone's opinions are subjective but I'd like to know your thoughts on picking a first Rolex, I'm torn between the SS Daytona with white face / GMT2 batman / submariner or sea dweller / yachtmaster platinum. If you were faced with this decision, which direction would you take? Keep up the great work.
    Regards, Alex.

Wow, good choices, but price differences between a SS Submariner and yacht master platinum, must be huuuge!

Great review, Tim! I had no idea that the DeapSea was that big! I thought it was 42, and not as tall. Holy cow! I really enjoy learning from your channel, the little things, like how the V on the Hulk comes from Verde, the color green. Really cool info, you're one of the best! Wear your watches in good health. Cheers.

+Erik Dahlgren Hi Erick, and thank you! The Deepsea surprised me as well. I knew it was a 44, but I had no idea that it was so much larger than the nominally 44mm Yacht-Master II. The thickness, mass, and lug span of the Deepsea puts it in a size class by itself within the Rolex catalog; only AP and Hublot giants really compare.

I have the DeepSea Blue and Hulk. Both no problem with dress cups and suits. Yet to have any issues despite Deepsea height. I wear it everyday with suits and are bored with the hulk

Hi, thanks so much for your videos, they are some of the best in terms of information. Okay, I have been a big fan of the Submariner, a few people around me own a sub or the explorer. I am not a big fan of the explorer, the sub however is something that I was obsessed with till I saw the new SD4000. I need to make a decision in the next couple of weeks. I don't want to make a purchase, look back and wish I had bought the other. I went through that experience when I bought the seamaster chrono (steel version), I wish I had bought the titanium version which was still available at the store a few years ago. I really love the feel of the new SD4000, I am not too concerned with the thickness. Since I have always wanted a sub, I am a little confused, gotta admit that I am in love with the SD. I know that people have asked you this a million times and it has been discussed in various forums as well. But, I would love to hear your views on it and if I should just go ahead with the SD4000. Thanks in advance!

+prince of beirut I love this one, too. The gradient of the dial is beautiful, and the quality of the treatment stands alongside anything from VC, Patek, or the independent haute horlogerie specialists. For a product from any luxury brand, never mind a conservative mass-market label like Rolex, the D-Blue is charmingly quirky.

No one looks at the milled clasp. It is no better than a stamped clasp as far as durability is concerned. It is the pins that is the weak point with any clasp, whether stamped or milled. As far as I am concerned, a milled clasp does nothing than to add additional weight to the bracelet.

Deep Sea . . . completely unwearable IMO; for anyone with less than an 8.5"wrist, which, err, is most of us!

your wrist is way too thin for these watches ;) even for the submariner
