Very impressive. I'm always amazed when "garbage" can be turned into something to cherish. Thanks for sharing and for the endless possibilities we should all be open to.
Excelente trabajo, una buena forma de reciclar madera que quien sabe la historia detrás de este leño y termina en una obra de arte. Mis respeto y admiración, felicitaciones maestro, gracias por compartir su trabajo.
Burned edges and bug holes--makes for a great piece. You can't buy wood like that! LOL I'll need to keep my eyes open the next time I'm at the beach. Great job Jon.
I really like your approach to the videos, telling the whole story and the 'taking it back' - I completely get that. Speaking as someone else that likes to make something beautiful from the kind of material that most people wouldn't even pick up, seeing your beautiful work is really inspiring and nourishing. Thank you. I'll keep watching 🙂
John, a beautiful combination of great videography and wood turning. Love the style of your film making. I’ve just started turning! Very inspiring. Best wishes - Jim
Hi Barry. I used extra virgin olive oil finished with pure beeswax. I left the olive oil in the vase overnight, so it really sunk into the wood. It's a lovely deep finish I think and cheap and nice to use.

Beautifully done Jon. Fabulous grain pattern...
Thanks David. Yes the grain is very special isn't it - willow seems to do that when it is left a bit.

Love the lack of pretentiousness about this vessel. It doesn't pretend anything and the fusion of rough and smooth is beautiful.
