Cluny Women’s College marked its Silver Jubilee with grandeur on April 6, 2024. The celebration unfolded in two phases. Mr. Balasubramaniam T, the District Magistrate of Kalimpong, graced the event as the chief guest, alongside notable guests such as Bishop Stephen Lepcha and Sister Edel Rai, along with provincial authorities from North India and Nepal, among others. The initial phase, steered by Bishop Stephen Lepcha, began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Sister Edel Rai. To commemorate twenty-five years, Sister Edel Rai, Principal Sister Dr. Pushpa Michael, and Chairperson of the College Management Committee Sister Dr. Binita Rai joyously cut the 25th year celebration cake and the Principal Sister Dr. Pushpa Michael delivered a warm welcome speech, followed by impassioned addresses from special guests and attendees. In the subsequent phase, Principal Sister Dr. Pushpa Michael, Sister Dr. Binita Rai, and IQAC Coordinator Prof. Amalan Lahiri felicitated main and special guests. The program featured welcome songs, dances, fusion performances, and the play “Mero uthne palo,” penned and directed by Arun Prakash Rai, a faculty member at Cluny, which centered on women’s empowerment. Additionally, a documentary highlighting the educational journey, challenges, and accomplishments of the college over the past twenty-five years was screened. The fusion dance conveyed a message of national and international unity. Chief guest Mr. Balasubramaniam T addressed the audience, and Sister Madeline Singh extended gratitude, while Professor Payal P. Sinha led the overall management of the program, from inception to conclusion.
