Actually, this song came out during the summer of 1990. The song went all the way to hit the #1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. This song is a definitely banger indeed!!!
I heard that it came Out in 89 as a single But it didnt Blow Up so they did a Second Release in 90 and the Rest ist History.
Nkotb is my first boy band crush. Still go to their concerts. They were created by Maurice Star. The same guy that put New Edition together. They are from Boston. Mark Wahlberg is in the video holding the basketball. Guy on motorcycle is his brother Donnie and is also an actor. He's on Blue Bloods tv series. He helped Mark get started in entertainment.

should check it out too. They both had the same producer at the height of their fame.
My favorite boyband! This song came out in 1990....the group was formed back in 1986....they were pretty big in the late 80's and early 90's. They split up in 94 and did their own thing for awhile...and reunited in 2008 and are still together and touring. I saw them in concert back in 2019 and again last year. They have so many great songs.

You should see New Kids On The Block now. They are all in their 50's. They still perform live. Donnie Walberg is a lead actor on Blue Bloods. He plays Danny on the show, but in the early 90s, he was a member of NKOTB.
This came out in Spring 1990. 5 members: Danny Wood (Step 1), Donnie Wahlberg (Step 2-lead vocals / rapper), Jordan Knight (Step 3-lead vocals on most tracks), Joe McIntyre (Step 4-lead vocals), and Jonathan Knight (Step 5). They had the same producer as New Edition-Maurice Starr. Their 1st run a a group was from ‘84-‘94. They reunited in ‘08 and are touring to this day.
Also, Jordan (step 3) & Jonathan (step 5) brothers.
Maurice Starr wanted a white version of New Edition, and he got it with these fellas. They grew up a neighborhood away from where New Edition did. They are legends just like New Edition.
They were huge in Brazil at the time! A big success!

Yeah, you can hear a new jack swing because both NE AND NKOB were both produced by the same guy, Maurice Starr. In fact, Starr purposely looked for white kids that could sing and dance. BTW, at the time "Step by Step," was out, Mark Wahlberg was known as "MARKIE MARK." He had a backup band known as,"THE FUNKY BUNCH." And they had a track out called, "Good Vibrations."😂
This current generation is not producing the level of talent we grew up with. So sad. Most of the singers/groups/bands of the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s consisted of people with God given talents. I'm so glad I grew up during some of these decades!! I'm going to be 64 on June 14th and I'm still dancing to beat🤗🤗😍😍💃💃

Spot on Jack! Late 80s early 90s. They (IMO) started the boy band phase of the 90s (i.e. BSB & Nsync). All the girls loved them. Everyone had their favorite (Joey McIntyre was it for me). All the guys hated them. LOL HS boys, ya know how insecure that time is. lol I hope they all look back now and laugh.
This was my band I grew up with back in Boston where I'm from. My sister was dating Danny back in the lates 80's and early 90's and I got to be around them a decent amount of times. Went to 7 of their concerts for free thanks to my sister

That's Danny with the hat on sideways. He's the guy my sister was dating. Jordan was the lead for this song. Joey is lead singer on a couple of my favorite songs of theirs but they all can sing. There is 5 in the group

Boy bands get a bad rep - but New Kids, Backstreet Boys, 98 degrees, and NSYNC all work very hard of their music and produce some amazing songs with fantastic harmonies. Their choreography is amazing as well. Huge New Kids fan - and I was excited to see this by one of my favourite reactors :) Cheers from Canada. BTW Jordan (lead singer on this) - and Donnie with the apple do most of the leads. Jordan and Jonathan (who did Step 5) are brothers.

This is the boy band to end all boy bands. They’re one of the best bands to see live. They toured with Backstreet Boys back in 2012 and I almost felt bad for Backstreet Boys because NKOTB whipped their ass performance wise.
"Please don't go girl" is a slow jam that sounds very R&B ... different lead singer... Back Street Boys came after New Kids, can't you tell?

They were my childhood in the 90's. They were our version of what N'Sync and The Backstreet Boys were in the early 2000's. Just as huge too. Every girl in school had all their merch on. The t-shirts, backpacks, pencils. Anything NKOTB had, you had to get it. They were so popular and still are. They're also pretty tight with New Edition, reason they have a bit of a hip hop vibe.
Another classic group. I remember when they first came out the scene Girls would go crazy for Nkotb. Even came out with nkotb dolls & there own cartoon. I remember them days. Thay have really good classic songs. They also have a song that made them popular it was call Pkease don't go girl. Another good classic song & sentimental. Again thx for the good memories Again. This was definitely 1990. The Same guy that produced New Edition, produced NKOTB a few years later. The motorcycle guy Donnie Walhlberg, is big brother to Mark Wahlberg who is cameos around the end of the video.
My favorite NKOTB song! Jordan Knight (the lead on this song) has a great solo album. Robin Thicke did a lot of production (hit: "Lost Without You"). New Edition's "Where It All Started From" was about other groups "biting" their style. **cough** New Kids on the Block **cough**

NKOTB r the shit, if u noticed The A-list actor Mark Whalberg in there towards the end, his brother is 1 of the members he's the 1 on the bike, also no they r not twins but r brothers...they have a hip hip vibe because of the producer Maurice star originally wanted them to be white kids whondo hip hop but no one would accept them until one guy in Florida played one song "please don't go girl" on his station and the phones lit up, that's when they realized they wernt hip hop they were pop and made the change ..and the rest is history ❤
They are the suburban answer to New Edition. Same manager. They change lead singers. I love them but New Edition is still my favorite.
