this is deadass bittersweet, been around and seeing the grind for years, and appreciated your music taste in R&B and actually giving nostalgia the moment it deserved. i had a feeling something was up, because so many reactors are starting to push away from music reactions because of copyright and the algorithm is a common denominator. currently having that issue with my own videos as a mashup artist and content creator who typically creates R&B, nostalgic mashups. no one watches, and it just screws up your self-worth and makes you question is it worth sharing on a platform that doesn't value you. i did pay for one song request a LONG while ago but i didn't think you did it, but either way, seeing you crank consistent videos, but thank you for listening to good R&B with an open mind and a good ear.

You're not the only one saying that you have generated income on youtube platform and not seen a dime of it. Another subscribed to said they have done everything right and nothing wrong yet this is happening with them as well. They don't even do music reactions. Obviously there is a shift happening. I don't understand but what you haven't seen a dime of you definitely should have and move on. Your reactions have always been top tier just being yourself intelligent, honest. That is awful. I don't understand the record co. stance here. There are new generations that has never ever heard there music. At the most. If I worked with a record co. I'd work a deal to give at least 50% to the reactor. Which sounds like taking the record co. first born, but. Without ppl reacting to this music. How will they make this extra money?
You really can’t spend all day recording, editing etc without getting paid for it, so I understand. I didn’t realise how little reactors were valued by YT. I would expect some of the money would go to the songwriters or record label, but not all. There’s no reason to unsubscribe from your channel. How you (seemingly) enjoyed reacting to new music is amazing, considering you were putting in so much time for so little in return. Know that your followers/ fans do appreciate your reactions because of the way you analyse and notice things we don’t. Well, irrespective of what you decide, it is your decision and I think you’ve laid out a solid argument for shifting the content. I have enjoyed the reaction videos ever since stumbling into your channel years ago and I have stuck with it ever since. I have quite a few of your videos saved in favorites and have liked many more, but you have to do what makes sense for you.
TH-cam is a forever shifting platform and goes where the wind takes it, so to speak. I had no idea you were paying so much to the record labels, etc, but I would similarly feel some type of way about that when breaking it down into the analytics.
Suffice it to say, even with the shift in content, I am not going anywhere. I appreciate whsr you do, and you did it in your own unique way. Additionally, the new content showcases a different side of you and allows us to see you being you-not that the reaction videos did not.
I suppose, in a long-winded way, I’m saying do you, man and I’m not going anywhere. I’ll have to check out your livestreams. I didn’t know you did those.

Your videos were a step above many that I’ve watched because you have a real expertise as far as the music goes that you’re reviewing and you didn’t just stick to
“I like this or I like that”… You gave specific reasons why you liked something and you highlighted what you appreciate about each video, be it a guitar solo, an amazing vocal or just the general vibe of the music.

Everything you say is reasonable, but it's a shame because you're a unique personality. Have you considered doing movie reactions? I've subscribed to many movie reactors because I enjoy those different people, spending time with them for 45 minutes or less. You need to sell your personality it's what will give you that recognition. It has more staying power than me flicking through multiple anonymous people, reacting to one song that I like briefly. That way you can keep your channel, keep your regulars, but also grow it. It's something to consider.

When you changed your channel to viewer requests and it didn't come from yourself I think you lost authenticity. I remember watching you in Covid during a very difficult time they felt so unsettling and unsafe. It was so interesting watching you discover Mariah Carey’s discography.
TH-cam has become very shady in terms of promoting videos, so many creators are talking about how TH-cam will not push their videos anymore.
It’s insane that you don’t get money from reaction videos, it should fall under fair use and criticism. TH-cam will eventually regret their choice, they’re pushing so many creators away from the community and it will be to their own peril longterm.
It is all about the money so get yours. Us old heads just loved the fact that the new school was understanding music. A real job is something you put real effort in for real money. I’d rather see you grow up as a business man than see money go into the hands of the enemy lol. No need to apologize or explain. Keep your head up and keep moving forward

Astute observations and I loved the emphasis on production with him detailing that, say, when the strings came in that that instrumentation alone took a song that was @ 7 to a 10. Ditto for how an outro, on some occasions, saved tunes that were just ok.💯 Jack did that!👏🏾✊🏾
@gabrielmcdonnell8699 I ain't gone lie, this sucks. I think it's starting to sink in on me a little. It was very exciting anticipating a musical reaction. But now I gotta do away with that feeling. Every time a notification popped up, it's like my heart skipped a beat from excitement. Jack definitely reacted to most of my requests, and I was requesting like crazy all the time. Honestly, I don't think he could have ever kept up @ the rate I was requesting. But he tried. I agree, any song, even the lackluster ones sound much better because of Jack's commentary & the energy he brought to it. I wonder if he really knows how good he was at it?🤔

(to borrow my favorite Jack-ism) 😂 Totally on the same page and I forced myself to take a break bc, like you, my requests were coming fast and furious. And I appreciate the mention of requesting lackluster songs bc a few come to mind (Nia Peeples, Wild Orchid) but honestly it was for shits and giggles as well as for the comments section eg Nia is Howard Hewett’s ex, was on “Fame” with Janet, Fergie was in Wild Orchid before BEP etc. 😊✌🏽(he hasn’t reacted to them yet but it’s all good)

Didn't even know reacting to music videos was a thing until I came across your channel. Changed my life. It was your commentary & knowledge for music that grabbed my attention, but it was your genuine passion for music & appreciation that kept me tuning in. I felt understood when I would listen to you react to the soundtrack of my past, present & future. I was like, "Wow, he gets it, but how? He's just a kid." He's going through different decades of music (80s, 90s, 70s, 00s & on....)relating with his words actually emotions & feelings, I felt the first time I heard this track. You quickly became special just because of that & getting glimpses of your personality brought it home for me. The way you understood the joy & pain, the heartbreak & sadness, the beauty & betrayal, the love & spiritual messaging that flowed through the lyrics, the rhythm & the production of different song songs connected me to your channel. I remember some of us would constantly comment how you understood lyrics & you constantly pointed out you're more of a production guy. Okay, you win Jack, lol😁. But you were right.
I learned so much on this channel without trying to. Your music reactions brought joy, positive energy & laughter. It was so much fun.

Been here for a couple of years with ya but i had like 2 diff channels i was subscribed to u on, I've watched u during covid and during that time, i was trying to find spirituality i had crystals.lol I was Into tarot readings during the time watching u. FYI i thought I'd share my personal life while watching u, lol
Time flew on, and i found God, but i always remembered the people who i gravitated towards here on youtube and u were one of them.
And I'm so happy for you jack. Ik things change. This one is a good change. I mean, who wants to sit up and fill their minds with music all day.. Sometimes, it's exhausting, and the lyrics in some songs can def rub u the wrong way. I hope you have a great journey with your channel. I hope you find God in the lord Jesus Christ.
