The redesigned oil pickup tube is not just a CL thing, it's part of the upgrades to the 360 motor (including cam chain tensioner, and rocker shafts) that happened during its model run. There are punch marks by the serial number if an older motor has been updated.

Thanks for the info... My engine didn't have the punch marks but the tensioner was 'newer', including the top bracket which is the giveaway afaik. I haven't checked the rocker shafts but my engine # is later than the recall date so should be fine - will have a look anyways. Funny that the oil pickup wasn't updated at that point.....
