Absolutely Brilliant Song. These guys just keep getting better and better in EVERY FACET. I've seen them 4 times already this year, and I can't wait to make it 5! Seriously, GO SEE THIS BAND NOW.
Of the literally hundreds of Avett Brothers performances I have watched on youtube, this is easily my favorite. Whenever a friend wants to learn more about them, this is the video I direct them to. Simply amazing.
My mouth waters, I get goose-bumps, and I can't stop smiling! Whenever I hear this I end up singing it in my head and even aloud for hours. It just goes to my heart... :0)
I only became an avett fan last year and I've been lucky enough to see them live since, but I would absolutely kill to be at one of these older shows. Awesome performance
Best live version that I’ve heard. Incredible crowd. This song sounds better when it’s not so fast, in my opinion. I like how they only pick it up at the end and fucking rock out.
American musical forms are brilliantly, idiosyncratically bendable, exchangable, mixable and utterly surprising. As long as there are authentic, talented singers, songwriters and musicians, there will always be brilliant music...never give up, it never dies...its just that sometimes you have to look around to find it.
This version of this song goes straight into my 'top ten songs of all time.' Along with 'Visions of Johanna' by Bob Dylan, 'Many Rivers To Cross' by Jimmy Cliff, 'Where is My Mind' by the Pixies and 'Bloody Mother Fuckin' Asshole' by Martha Wainwright. Absolutely superb.
Not sure where you're getting your info but that have said at numerous shows ie Stone Pony, NYC, Bonnaroo that it will be. As well as "St. Joseph's, Tin Man, And it Spread & Murdered in the City"
Saw these guys twice in Dallas and thought they were the best live act I've ever seen. They put everything they have into their music...my favorite band is Kings of Leon but the Avett Bros live act is a tad better I must say.
Their new album is going to be great! I hope this one, and it spread, and a lot of others are on it. Also that song they played at attucks theatre that has no name. This band rocks!
wow, to each his own i guess. January Wedding, Ill With Want, Perfect Space, And it Spread. Its different live than studio, but thats nothing new with the Avetts. Ever seen November Blue played live as it is studio ?They actually slow that down live, its all good though, I really like it.
i 100% agree. i have seen them 11 times now, and the last two (this summer) i felt like something was missing. maybe its just me, because my father enjoyed them, but i felt like there wasn't that energy or power... something was missing
@ffncl i agree. i think the video of them playing it at bonaroo was the most amazing live preformance of this song they will ever do. for some reason they took the vid down?
OH GOD, I LOVE THIS SONG, TOO!! Great job on this vid. something about the killer jam at the end of this song that always gets me no matter where i'm at-i swear one day driving i'm going to rip my steering wheel from the column! these guys are THE best and are like no other!! THANKS for posting!
I think it's referring to the love that "people" say you make, kinda like asking if what the people said was a lie about the love you make. Though it really doesn't matter, this song is still Amazing in every way
Absolutely Brilliant Song.

Soooooo blessed to have been there! 💛💛💛
Same. Incredible night and my first of many many more
Those last 30 seconds seriously might be the greatest thing I've ever seen/heard.
I literally just got chills. I cannot WAIT for Thursday. 6 hours of driving is BEYOND beyond worth it for these boys.

My mouth waters, I get goose-bumps, and I can't stop smiling! Whenever I hear this I end up singing it in my head and even aloud for hours. It just goes to my heart... :0)
I could watch them everyday and still never be any less amazed by them! They are what great is.
I only became an avett fan last year and I've been lucky enough to see them live since, but I would absolutely kill to be at one of these older shows. Awesome performance
this song makes me cry.
i saw it live two nights ago, and it was AMAZING.
Best live version that I’ve heard. Incredible crowd. This song sounds better when it’s not so fast, in my opinion. I like how they only pick it up at the end and fucking rock out.
the avetts are just fantastic, especially this song.
definitely one of the best bands to see live
This may be one of the best versions ive EVER heard of this... And that ending I wish would go on for 10 min.. Absoultely killer!!
I can’t love this more..❤❤❤
I keep coming back to this vid over and over. Thanks so much for posting it!
still the best version of this song. every show they give 100%
Dear God...
Well, now that I know what perfection sounds like... Everything else will seem subpar.
still the greatest version of this song, the last 30sec is amazing
This song just made me fall in love with the avett brothers!
surely one of the greatest endings to a song i've seen in a long time!

just saw them tonight. what a great show! these guys really know how to perform!
this is one of the best videos I've seen of them... thank you for posting this!!!
We missed this concert by two weeks....Shame...boatloads of Shame....
I really NEED this song to be on the new album... Tin Man too.
it amazes me that the album this song is on has not even been released yet, but this video has 53,000 views. jeezzz
first time i ever did see a head banging cellist.... brilliant!!!!!
Great harmonies and musicians-never mind all the big productions of today, this is just real.
Please do not ever remove this !! ❣
now this is the video to watch by this band, the crowd is quiet during the performance so you can hear the band.
Yes, you are absolutely right - I love love love this video! You and I are on the same wavelength!
" is it a lie? " . Greatest version of this for me. Peace.
694 is capacity at this theatre.. I would kill to see them like that now!
Its your boy Iamdynamite and I am back at it again letting everyone know that this is STILL the best version of laundry room. Wait for that last 30sec
Not sure where you're getting your info but that have said at numerous shows ie Stone Pony, NYC, Bonnaroo that it will be. As well as "St. Joseph's, Tin Man, And it Spread & Murdered in the City"
An abundance of talent, energy and good times...
My memories take me back to The Louvin , Willborn ,Everley Bros. AWESOME
Saw these guys twice in Dallas and thought they were the best live act I've ever seen. They put everything they have into their music...my favorite band is Kings of Leon but the Avett Bros live act is a tad better I must say.
this is the best version of this song on the web :)
Best version of the song. Right here. What a performance.
still haven't found a better version of this song
I hope this comes out on The Gleam 2!!! Awesome new song!
I'll be at the show on Nov 12th too--really hope they play this.
beautiful song. i hope it's on their next album.
Their new album is going to be great! I hope this one, and it spread, and a lot of others are on it. Also that song they played at attucks theatre that has no name. This band rocks!
the ending is the greatest thing ive ever heard
only band that can have a pause like that and still pull off a rockin ending
I wish all concerts people were quiet like here... the sing-along is just annoying...
Can't have enough of this video... THANKS
Atlanta 9/10. It will be my first show.
WOOOOO The awesome energy of this performance makes me want to get up and dance or something.
This is my favorite version of this song, I like it even better than the studio version.
one of the most perfect songs! :)
could be one of the best bands living memory
"Tonight I burned the lyrics, cause every chorus was your name." Man, I wish I'd written that.
incredible. beautiful song, amazing ending.
Pretty much can't get enough of this song.

@gilsjeep2000
Then you need to hunt down Live at the Double Door Inn and Smilefest bootlegs! Truely amazing both their new stuff but also the old!
wow, to each his own i guess. January Wedding, Ill With Want, Perfect Space, And it Spread. Its different live than studio, but thats nothing new with the Avetts. Ever seen November Blue played live as it is studio ?They actually slow that down live, its all good though, I really like it.
amazing, last 40sec gave me chills
Came back to elevate..
i 100% agree.
i have seen them 11 times now, and the last two (this summer) i felt like something was missing. maybe its just me, because my father enjoyed them, but i felt like there wasn't that energy or power... something was missing
Best video on TH-cam
@katiediddidwhat I wonder if they played that song at this show too
the videos are so great, but nothing can capture the intensity of being there and clapping and jumping and screaming.
Haha, I don't think the audience really knew what was being said either. One girl shouts "Yes" and another yells out "No," as far as I can tell.
fav song off the new album so far..
@ffncl i agree. i think the video of them playing it at bonaroo was the most amazing live preformance of this song they will ever do. for some reason they took the vid down?
love wrote a letter would be "The Ballad of Love and Hate".
"tonight I'll burn the lyrics, cuz every chorus was your name..."
Awesome song!
Speak for yourself volmon... I'm from NC and these guys are the best thing going.
@ffncl I agree. Go find that TIny Desk NPR version of Laundry Room if your want to see the power potential of this bad boy!!!
Raw, real and makes me want to drink from the tap.
@iamthesilver check out the one from bonnaroo.......i think it has this version beat, just barely.
this is just sooo fricken good
I think it's referring to the love that "people" say you make, kinda like asking if what the people said was a lie about the love you make. Though it really doesn't matter, this song is still Amazing in every way
this is a good version but i like the tiny desk version better. everyone should check it out its awesome!
Send my regards. Thanx.
@phloydrix He is saying, "Is it a lie?" He says it almost every time they perform this song.
it's going to be on their full length, as will tin man.
the best laundry room ever
Incredible.
what does he say after .... teach me how to use the love that people say you make?
Norfolk?!?!?! WHERE WAS I?!?!?!
I wish I'd been there live...
AMAZING!!

@scja170 pretty sure he's saying, "is it a lot?"
Chills at 5:00, I felt it in my soul.

Wow just wow
Miss you so bad Ronnie
@gilsjeep2000
I get chills watching the end
@markaidin
now 6 people don't know a good thing when they hear it.
