My dad turned on the TV in my uncle's house over the summer, and was just flipping through channels. Comes across this and left it on just long enough for me to hear, "Tonight I'll burn the lyrics cause every chorus was your name." Looked up the lyrics. Discovered The Avett Brothers. Have been in love with them ever since. Long live real music.
I was on the road trip out of town and flipping through channels that were unfamiliar to me and caught from the middle of the song to the end. It's the human time-machine part that sealed it for me. One of those chance events that I will always remember with a smile.
My girlfriend always listened to this band. I never got into them because i thought they were country and then i actually listened to them. One of my favorite bands, if more music these days could be full of the love and respect and talent that the Avett Brothers have, we would all be a lot happier.
@@kelleysezwoh Façts. At this point they've done it so many times it's just so dialed and they actually recorded it and we get the blessing of hearing it thank you guys you guys sound freaking amazing in this version kicking ass
I fell in love with this song around the same time I fell in love with my husband 8 years ago. This will forever remind me of one of the happiest times of my life
"Tonight I'll burn the lyrics, cause every chorus was your name" Reminds me of my exgirlfriend. I loved her, still do, but I'm moving on. Only way is to not forget, but rather not dwell on those old feelings and find myself the one :)
I reckon I must have watched 300 or so Avett Brothers clips, and never ONCE have I seen a performance where they didn't give their full effort.. or even make the slightest mistake.. absolute professionals and just dedicated, talented artists.. it really is extraordinary.. my favourite band of all time
A young man sent me this video a long time ago, We only knew each other for a night on some harry potter chat room thing but because of this song I'll always have a soft spot for that man that I'll never hear from again.
I always feel like this is my favorite song, ever in the history of music. I hear all of their songs. And I am well versed in all things music. All sounds lead me back here
This version of “laundry room” and the same session version of “ i and love and you” blow the album versions out of the water. What a tight live band. Maybe it’s my preference for guitars rather than piano.
+HippieLady420 the best part about avett brothers music, you can find a similar comment on so many of their videos, they have a great way of connecting to people in very intimate, but different and diverse ways.
that's a great version :) NPR tiny desk concerts is my new favorite TH-cam channel lol. So many great bands and songs on there. Check out Avett Brothers "Down with the Shine" performance Live on Letterman. I think that's their best live version of that song.
Their performances always blow my mind. I've never seen a band with so much energy and passion put in to every song of every performance..even in their little guest appearances. Hands down these men are brilliant, and the Avett Brothers was the best live concert I have, and will ever, see.
I've been listening to these guys all evening, this is by far my favourite video! it's heartwarming how passionate they are about their music! I bloody love them, and I only discovered them today :D
yup for sure....don't know what it is about this version but they absolutely nailed it to 100% perfection....would have loved to be a fly in the wall at that studio!
@JJWoosh2 I agree from the bottom of my heart, I am an old deadhead as well, lol. Toured with them the summer of 88 & 89, was some of the best times of my life. But these guys stir something in my heart & soul I have never experienced with any other band. They just blow me away, every single time I hear them play. Am so proud they are from my neck of the woods in NC, they are a state treasure, no doubt about it. Love it when they are home, the evergy is amazing between them & the crowd.
I truly love this song. Scott looks extra handsome here, he's best with short hair with some facial hair but not alot. :-) Whoever is writing the songs is truly a great poet.
Still dying over this years later. Every split second of this version is perfection.
Kel K. Takes my breath away. Still
@@sydneyyeg same. ugh. ❤

They'e punktry music.
I just can't get over this particular version. It kills me every time. Euphoric.
One of the best videos on TH-cam. I've been watching since 2010, still coming back 2018. It just.. it just does all the things.
Agreed. 100%
My favorite was taken down for some reason. It was from Craig Ferguson. I doubt there's a bad one though!

Could be the best song ever written. 32 people went a little too frantic for the like button and missed.
Fuck the haters...sorry if you are from the bible belt.
+Anthony Danes Most retarded comment ever. For one they sing a lot of old church songs, which would make them more liked by the bible belt.
Blake Coffman hey go hug you bible...
I fell in love with this song around the same time I fell in love with my husband 8 years ago. This will forever remind me of one of the happiest times of my life
Tonight I'll burn the lyrics. Cause every chorus was your name. I think My heart just traveled to another dimension.
My all time favourite ❤️ Avett brothers at their best💕

This will never be anything less than amazing.
Jesus is an Avett Brother. That's why they sound so angelic.
This is so good 2022 one of the all time best songs ever.
They ARE the best live show I have ever seen...from an old "dead head", this says it all!
Probably 50th time I’m listening. Excellent musicians collaborating a song that cuts deep.
Collen Hoover Slammed series brought me here. I'm so glad. Their music is so nice!
One of the most beautiful songs ever written
By the time they hit the last note, all I think is "Hell yeah, that was awesome."
I wish I could like this a million more times!
I reckon I must have watched 300 or so Avett Brothers clips, and never ONCE have I seen a performance where they didn't give their full effort.. or even make the slightest mistake.. absolute professionals and just dedicated, talented artists.. it really is extraordinary.. my favourite band of all time
I never thought a band would be so good live till I herd the Avett brothers. WOW THEY ARE AMAZING!!!
I luuuuuuuhv them. Scott is freakin GAWGOUS . Has a beautiful smile. Just got to see them in Columbus. Awesome.
“Keep your clothes on I’ve got all that I can take” sends waves through me
A young man sent me this video a long time ago, We only knew each other for a night on some harry potter chat room thing but because of this song I'll always have a soft spot for that man that I'll never hear from again.

Excellent!
This band is about the only thing in this sour world that gives me hope !
You saved my life, thank you guys. Forever grateful 🙏
There's renewed will to live in these songs, for sure!
A thing of great beauty.
Absolutley love their music. It is just so real, raw, and pure. They give the title of "music artist" its true glory.
The Avett brothers make my weary heart ache even more than it already does...
This makes me cry so hard
Nothing is better than this.
This version is the best.
very true d
Been watching this vid 10 years . Reminds me of good ol times on the mountain .
I thought I lost this version and it devastated me. I’m so glad to have found it again.

if you look up The Avett Brothers: NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert. I think that is the best version of this song. So much passion. No Mics. So beautiful!

+Josh Timmons I agree as well.
+HippieLady420 Agree 100%. It's a video I've used to show people just good the Avetts are.

It only took about 35 years for America to produce an answer to The Beatles. Yeah... I said it. Best songwriting duo since Lennon/McCartney.
I love their lyrics! Music to my soul
This song makes me so dang happy :)
I have family over from America the now staying with me. They got me on to this great band ! Thanks :)
by far the only group that could name a song after a room in a house and make it good!
I to will be there for the NYE show... can not wait!
This is the song that made me an instant fan of Avvett Brothers. =D
My life is passing by so fast and there is absolutely nothing I can do to slow it down.
My mom used to play this in the car and it will forever be a very nostalgic song to me
I love this song so much it's entertained me for 2 hours now.
Do these guys grow hair extremely fast? Everytime I see them they have new hair and beard lengths. haha
Wow... Just Wow...
You can't help but love this. Or at least I can't💙
IT'S BEEN CURED, THANK GOD!!!
Creative genius, using laundry as a metaphor for a love song. Great minds, not to speak of exquisite musicians.
How can you not love the Avett Bros?
Always great! Ave Avett!

Rockin' Jesus.
Saw them live in Weatherford, OK. Absolutely amazing!
The tempo of this song matches exactly the same tempo for perfect love making. Coincidence? I think not.
That was The best version of that song I've heard so far... thanks for posting!
This is the best version of this song
My new fav band, I love those voices, instuments and the fact they play just about every genre, these bros. have great talent.

Love everything about this song, but my favorite part is from 4:25 to the end.
Don’t think we will ever get this version of Avery brothers again. Saw them 3 years ago in key west and it was too late.
