The former is just a straight 4 mana reanimate anything without needing to foretell. Sorry if it sounded mean, I know you usually don't like comments like this but in this case I feel its justified because that card is just strictly better (since you dont run elves) :)
BTW a maybe an even more effective route for Raffine is the Tempo plan. Get Raffine and like two other critters out that alone makes a huge threat and filters through the deck to get the counterspells like crazy. Currently 82% winrate with 22 games played...
It seems like they usually do the meta shifts in historic brawl when a set releases, so I expect raffine to see higher tier commanders when baldurs gate releases.

decided to try out 4 color (white/blue/black/green) super friends with all the heavy hitters and the fight rigging/shake down heavy to cheat out....crazy results, also have brutal cathars early game to keep some things from getting out of control...also have invoke despair/titan of industry for alternate rig hits
Historic Brawl content, particularly non hell queue variety, has been refreshing. I also frequently get kind of stale on b01 standard and need to mix up what/how I'm playing. The play queue doesn't do it for me since it's basically just the same thing...but no incentive/stakes for winning. I usually ended up just spamming Standard Events for the sake of making gold/picking up a card or two/getting some vault progress. That is less the case now because of the increased entry cost and break even now being 5 wins rather than 4. Historic Brawl has kinda been where its at. A different "meta" of sorts....and not having to play against a tight population of 4 ofs over and over. Any interest in taking suggestions/requests for Commanders to use/build around? I have a lot of fun with Kenrith as well as a "steal your wincons" grixis deck with 7 mana Nicol Bolas. Currently working on a version of Dimir - Tezzeret, Master of the Bridge "artifacts matter" deck.
Cool build! Highly recommend Archfiend of Ifnir in any Raffine deck, though. That card is a machine gun with connive against any deck that tries to go wide and people never see it so it gets underestimated and not dealt with until it's too late.
I try to play a re-animator as grixis in standard, which works fine when it does but man if I win 2 matches back to back I get paired against agro decks for 10 matches straight where I either miss a land drop, don't get any cards to discard, don't get a re-animor don't get a board wipe or all of them at the same times. Too much misery for a couple games of fun.
kaya, the inexorable is unfortunately also part of the hell que. i wish she wasn't but for whatever reason she is. i know this because she is my favorite kaya planeswalker version and iv been paired against golos and god tree at least 50% of the time. my deck has like a 30 to 40% win rate because of the fights i am paired wtih -_-
I'll say this and probably get shit on, but the reason why I dropped off magic in general a while ago and why I don't play any non-rotating format now that I am back is the color blue. No, I am not salty because I dislike control (I like it) and I do not think the cards are broken (they are not), it's just that it is so painfully unfun to play against. Blue is the color that makes Magic feel as exciting as watching a lecture in most sets and combinations. Yes, I know that stuff like Ninja and Zombies is not like that, but 90% of blue decks are, specially at a competitive level, so it is simply not worth it, even if I win in the end.
My type of deck. Love it. On the state of reanimator: isn't Esper reanimator a Tier 1 deck in BO1 Historic? Feels like it squashes me whenever I run into it on ladder
The reason that Reanimator hasn't felt that good in Historic is because the best thing that a reanimator deck can do is bring back Sphinx and use it to combo kill with Eerie Ultimatum, and that doesn't feel very reanimator-ish when most traditional reanimator decks kill with just the creatures. EDIT: wait, Esper Reanimator was a legit strategy in Historic for awhile after Serra's Emissary entered the format.
My Raffine HBrawl gets put in hell queue 🥲 Also nothing but blue counter deck like Chief of Complience and Teferi. What I'd give to play the decks you played against 😂😭
@CGB I really like your content, and watch a lot :) One thing that could improve your viedos would be less scooping. I would have loved to see the Bolas deck in action. Just a suggestion.

Lazotep Chancellor and Archfiend of Ifnir are 2 great discard value cards for Raffine.
You should look into Mardu sagas using spirit sister's call and jamming Kami War. I play this in standard and I get a decent win rate
