credit scores are such bullshit. my FICO score was 735. didn't use my Discover and AMEX card for almost 4 months and my score lowered 10 points. I get docked for not using my allocated debt. our system is so broken.

Their paycheck from the government is probably one of the smallest income streams they receive...

As someone who works in the government nothing frustrates me more than government spend downs each year. The idea that we have spend all our budget each year on stupid wasteful purchases or we lose funding needs to change. We need to implement some sort of incentive savings program for each and every sector/unit where the funds can be pooled together and used when we actually need them. But until then the deficit will only get worse.

I’m middle class and would be far better off if they completely cut Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid if it means reducing my tax bill. I’d have far more retirement income if I could’ve invested those SS deductions from each paycheck and an open market insurance or total government run medical option would be cheaper than this half assed hybrid system now.

As you have described so well, our society is going straight to hell if the problem isn't dealt with post haste.
I never got a student loan forgiveness. I worked my butt off, returned from a deployment, and then paid off my student loan. A family member went through a foreclosure back in 2008 and no one helped them out, they lived and learned. No more bailouts for choices made by people, banks, or companies.
We give way more to foreign countries and bailing out large companies than student loan forgiveness. It should be dischargable in bankruptcy and the government should stop backing loans.

I must pay my debts or I lose my home or my car. The US needs to get this under control at any cost. They should be expected to balance the budget. We can not continue to fund special projects, send money to other countries and spend more than we bring in.
