I was watching it over and over and was trying to see where he messed up. Was it from holding opposite lock for too long so when the front tires started being effective again, they grabbed and shifted the car's weight the other direction?
Then when he locked up the brakes it made it worse, would keeping it floored have helped?
I've been in a similar situation and tapping on the brakes lightly but quickly a few times, saved me and straightened out. I did also point the steering wheel straight in the lane while the car was drifting. Never had a chance to practice this on a closed course yet though 😕
