Rusty, you always manage to find interesting people wherever you go (or they found you). Allen and Gracie are living their dream, and their happiness shows - wonderful smiles and very friendly. They have settled in and have been living this way for a while, so they are a wealth of practical experience for others wanting to retire off grid.
Hi Allen and Gracie. Very nice place. Having a forestry background I love the location in the forests. I could live there. Having a tiny home in town makes it prefect. Fun interview.
Very Nice People !!!!! Here to them making life as they chose!!!! Keep at doing you allen and gracey!!!!! Yep Rusty is smart we only live once so why not live it the way intended!!!!!! Thank you All for shareing.
Been following your adventures for years. Never a dull moment . Your latest place would fit me well so let me know when you get tired of it and wanna sell it. Old Rusty, was born under a wandrin' star.
New Sub here. Wow this was an amazing video. We hope to do exactly what this couple has done We are in the “get rid of it” process this year Next year purchase a rig like theirs (4 season)...then sell house (Bye bye Adios) Sounds like a nice life for these folks! Hope to see another interview sometime of other off-griders Good day to ya Rusty 🍺

Hi Rusty, I enjoyed this video! I enjoyed this couple I also agree with them you should stay in your new home! Lol 😂 Your new home is great and your view is amazing!!
Thanks for this video... I love watching older folks like me not settling for being stuck... their place is beautiful.... I thought about NM, however, when I looked into it, I found out that NM taxes your SS and that's double jeaopardy, and just wrong... I live on a very small SS so that just won't do.... 'Already paid for it; and have no intention of paying for it again!
Can hardly hear anything. I'm trying to boost audio for about 3 minutes. Nobody is talking directly into the microphone. Sounds like a nice place though.
Veru nice interview.......Famous names ....Allen and Gracie (BURNS)......OR are they BONNIE AND CLYDE.....and that is thier hideout?????......Nice people..
I drove through Cloudcroft in 2016 on my way to somewhere.....while driving through i felt IT. I always loved NM but being from NY it's hard to get back out that way these days. Maybe one day.....and the first order of business is to get a gigantic bowl of posole. Take care folks
Hey, Rusty, I liked this interview with Alan and Gracie. Nice set up. How many acres do they have, how did they find it, through a realtor, or word of mouth? I’ve never given much though about who might want to sell acreage at 9,000’ elevation? How do they split their time, what percentage of time do they spend in the mountains and how much in Alamogordo? Does their 4 season trailer keep them warm enough in winter or a snow storm in the mountains? Or do they avoid those times in the mountains. I like their set up, e.g., two homes to accommodate the seasons, but not a far distance between the two. Maybe I didn’t understand this correctly, but it sounded like they take the white water container to town and fill it up, in the back of their truck, and then take it back to the mountain and take the heavy container out of the truck and put it on the ground aside the trailer. How can two elderly people do that? I’m their age or older and I can’t imagine me, and even if it were Sylvester Stallone helping me, being able to do that. Maybe you could film that, not me and Sylvester but Alan and Gracie! Haha. Also, do they ever have explorers driving up their road to their homestead or perhaps they have a gate. I think about that kind of stuff, but if it had a babbling brook or small river, I’d take my chances. Rusty, you should do more interviews like this. It’s interesting and informative to see all kinds of people creating a lifestyle similar to what we all desire to find here. Thanks, Rusty.
@@monnaprovost7294 thanks, Mo. I’m laughing at myself now, that didn’t occur to me at the time. Duh! Thanks for the chuckle and helping me out! Have a nice weekend. Deb in Fort Worth

Might be time to get an appointment with audiologist.
Nice setup and all, but I'm wondering why they don't collect rainwater from that big awning?

Deb, most likely that white container stays in the back of the truck while the water is gravity fed into their big tank. Cheers, Mo in NJ

Nice but 1 mistake I see, the camper slide extends past the shed roof. Easily fixable with a small roof extention.
Beautiful set up.
Perfect set up for golden years.
