That’s impressive. I’m a para and pull myself into my van but you are at another level. I use a strap bolted into the top of the door sill with my left hand and use my right to press down on the seat.

Fell in empty river barge where i worked in '91 at age 19, resulting in L1 and L4 burst fractures. Afterwards bought '91 GMC Sierra and had it lowered 3" in front and 2" in back, it was pretty easy to get into. Got a 04 Silverado extended cab already lowered to look like a SS now, love the suicide doors. I use a folding chair and just put it in the back where the seat use to be.

Ok, excited to see this. I just bought a Dodge Ram 4x4 with a 3 inch left. It sits about like yours.
I never thought I would be able to enjoy a truck again. But here I am, about to rock it.
Edit to say, for me, it is easier getting my chair in and out of a vehicle by laying the seat back some. Just a tip you might could try.

@@paraplegiccountryboy3613 Thank you. I was able to get in it using your video yesterday with a small help from my daughter. I really need to stretch my legs and get out of my funk to do it on my own. This is a large motivation to do so. I want you to know you helped me get there.

My daughter is para. She has a sliding door on the second row. Mazda 5. She opens the sliding door, transfers to the driver seat. Reaches back and attaches a hook to the chair. The hook, rope, and pulley are used to pull the chair into the second row. Seat is removed. She can reach the door handle and pull it shut. A power open close kit is available.
What she does can work on a truck with the extended suicide opening doors. A passenger side front lift runs about 10,500 here.

My problem has always been my legs fall over against the seat and I end up fighting them to get into the truck. I have a 350 Chevrolet diesel truck but I put a turney seat in ot, much easier on my shoulder's. I've been a para since 1991

I have been in a chair 13 years and have been wondering if I could get into a lowered f150 2 wheel drive??? You are amazing!

Brother, you are very strong! I'd be worried about getting a skin tear, or skin sheer on my rear end.

I just bought a Honda ridgeline yesterday (my dream truck, besides a charcoal blasting diesel 😂). Thanks for the video because I was really starting to worry because I can’t get in it like I am used to in a car. I was afraid I was going to have to sell my ridgeline.

I wish TH-cam was around in 1985 when I had my accident! They told me I would no longer be able to drive a truck. The next day I checked myself out of rehab and learned the rest at home. We didn't have all these extra cab 4 doors etc. I bought a F 250 4x4 and slid my butt onto the floor. Back then we had drip molding on the top of the cabs. Once my butt was in the seat I grabbed the drip rail with left hand and right hand in the seat and heave ho!

I'm a T12 para and new R leg amputee. I used to use forarm crutches AND manual wheelchair. Now, just the chair. I've driven trucks for the past 10 years and can transfer quite easily. The problem I have is that my 'new' chair gets scratched to bits as it gets dragged on the ground taking off or putting the quick release wheels back on.
OR, the truck gets scratched or the dashboard.
I've seen lots of TH-cam videos of wheelchair transfers to a truck and in all the videos, the chair tends to take a heating.
    Thoughts, ideas or suggestions?

Any good "protection" for the body? I use rino lining on the bottom body of my car so no dents or scratches from my chair being up against it... I'm assuming you could do the same, just curious about protection for the body though with moving the chair around the way you may choose to in order to get it in and out....???

I’m a t2-t3 complete paraplegic and I could never do that, it’s too high for me. I tried it once in my sister’s Range Rover evoque and it wasn’t easy. My car is relatively low but I can mange well.
