Nice video man, I just bought my first atv and needed to see this. Thank you!
That definitely won't work for me. 31 year paraplegic, shoulders shot. Not going to happen
T8 Para here, I wish I could pull myself up like that
My problem has always been my legs fall over against the seat and I end up fighting them to get into the truck. I have a 350 Chevrolet diesel truck but I put a turney seat in ot, much easier on my shoulder's. I've been a para since 1991
Impressive, not easy for a heavier guy to do!
Any good "protection" for the body? I use rino lining on the bottom body of my car so no dents or scratches from my chair being up against it... I'm assuming you could do the same, just curious about protection for the body though with moving the chair around the way you may choose to in order to get it in and out....???
I had solid tires on my wheels that I wanted to switch to pneumatic I tried going down the middle but that was too hard. I cut sideways instead. The hardest part was getting through the metal wire. Then, I could pull off. Is rim tape important? Thanks
Thankyou ,I just got a tall 4wd down here in Australia and I never thought about throwing the legs in first 👍🦘 good call I've always dragged the top half in then legs But your way is great
Glad it was helpful for you!
Thank you so much for your video. I´m in a wheelchair too since 8 years.
Hey man, you are are real inperation for me. I´m in the wheelchair too and my dreamcar is a Toyota truck. i will practice 😄👍
Awesome! You can do it
You had some backside skin showing there brother 😅. I always check mine, always self conscious of that. I'm going to try that transfer to my Dad's ol John Deere Zero Turn. Sure would be nice to gain that independence like you said.
Impressive 💪🏽💯.
I don’t know if you’re still reading comments on this video, but how do you get your chair in and out by yourself?
I have been in a chair 13 years and have been wondering if I could get into a lowered f150 2 wheel drive??? You are amazing!
I got 2010 Chevy Colorado 4x4. I had it lower so can get in easier.
Thank you for the video brother. With you help I installed new tires for my wheelchair with ease. Appreciate you.
Can you do a video of you trying to move your legs and tell us what it feels like wen you try to move your legs I have a project at school
Going to try it on something a little smaller.
What does it feel like wen you try to move your legs sir
Can you move your legs sir
No sir, no feeling from chest down
do you use a Belt or something else to secure feets, legs or Hip ?
No sir I sure don’t, my feet stay secure in the the floorboards and I control by balance by holding on to the handlebars
Yeah transfer voard wpuld nae work that was great
Thats slick very slick
does that roof that is over the ramp have a slight sloop for the snow to run off when it melts? In some of the views it looks flat? I'm going to be showing screen grabs from this video to a contractor we are having come out next week for a estimate & this is what we want to be done out behind our house to replace a old wooden wheelchair ramp that starting to get bad from being exposed to many years of snow, ice & rain. Our current one is also not ADA complaint, way too steep! I can't safely go up or down it with my 21 yr old son who's in a w/c . We get stuck inside when it rains, snows, sleets or freezing rain.
Yes it is slopped so rain and snow comes off
Can you do a video of you trying to move your legs and tell us what it feels like wen you try to move thim Please sir
That's awesome. I'm T1 complete for nearly 3 months now. Bought a new gravely 2 weeks before the injury and your video helped me to get mowing today.
That’s awesome man!
It's always after the transfer when I remember what I left inside. Lol
That’s very true! Lol
Good video Am a wheelchair user and interested in a lawnmower, thanks for making the video
Your welcome!
Hey brother I'm a T-6 Paralyzed Veteran I've watched a lot of your videos man and I've found them very helpful and inspiring! My name i Patrick McNeely and I live in Southern West Virginia, I'd love to pick your brain a little bit on a few things. If you wouldn't mind to make the time to PM me I would appreciate it. I realize you have several young-n's and a pretty lady but it would mean a lot!! God Bless you brother! ✝️Patrick☘️🇺🇲👨🏼🦽
Thanks man! Yeah I’ll answer any questions you got, what’s a good way to contact you?
You're a beast dude
Thanks man! Years of practice lol
THAT! is a STRONG steering wheel!
My daughter is para. She has a sliding door on the second row. Mazda 5. She opens the sliding door, transfers to the driver seat. Reaches back and attaches a hook to the chair. The hook, rope, and pulley are used to pull the chair into the second row. Seat is removed. She can reach the door handle and pull it shut. A power open close kit is available. What she does can work on a truck with the extended suicide opening doors. A passenger side front lift runs about 10,500 here.
I’m a t2-t3 complete paraplegic and I could never do that, it’s too high for me. I tried it once in my sister’s Range Rover evoque and it wasn’t easy. My car is relatively low but I can mange well.
I guess the guard rail is for other people, cuz you'd certainly have more width without it.
I just bought a Honda ridgeline yesterday (my dream truck, besides a charcoal blasting diesel 😂). Thanks for the video because I was really starting to worry because I can’t get in it like I am used to in a car. I was afraid I was going to have to sell my ridgeline.
That’s awesome! I hope you enjoy it
Ok, excited to see this. I just bought a Dodge Ram 4x4 with a 3 inch left. It sits about like yours. I never thought I would be able to enjoy a truck again. But here I am, about to rock it. Edit to say, for me, it is easier getting my chair in and out of a vehicle by laying the seat back some. Just a tip you might could try.
You will definitely enjoy it!
@@paraplegiccountryboy3613 Thank you. I was able to get in it using your video yesterday with a small help from my daughter. I really need to stretch my legs and get out of my funk to do it on my own. This is a large motivation to do so. I want you to know you helped me get there.
I'm a newer T12/L1 partial paraplegic. I've watched a few of the other channels like wheels2walking. I appreciate the content you're pushing out! The ZTR video is super helpful. We are getting ready to build an adaptive house, and we will need a riding mower. I was looking at different brands and trying to figure out which ones would work and what not. I did see that Country Clipper has a step, and railing that can be installed on the front of the floorboard, to make getting on and off easier for elderly people or those of us with disabilities. Keep up the videos, they are helpful, and we appreciate you!
Thanks! I appreciate it, and good luck on the new house
Beast mode! 😮
Cool!
Hey, I’m a paraplegic and I like your videos. I have about two acres and need to spray along the fence lines so this video is really helpful to me. Thank you for taking the time to post!
No problem! Thanks for the comment
That’s impressive. I’m a para and pull myself into my van but you are at another level. I use a strap bolted into the top of the door sill with my left hand and use my right to press down on the seat.
Thanks! I learned a long time how to do it so it second nature now, but it’s getting harder the older I get lol
Very helpful. One thing though plastic tire levers are CHEAP and will save your tire bead
Not to mention the rim of the wheel. I'd never use a screwdriver myself.
Can you move your legs sir
Fellow para here. Thanks for this info. I wish we had beach chair rentals local to me.
Thank you! Really good idea, your design is really nice💙. We have the same home almost, & need to install a ramp. I wanted to be sure I can still have a nice sized porch as well❤️
How do you make sure your toes don’t curl under in the boot?
Is kinda problem with me because my arm dosnt work that graet so yea 🐟
Trying to contact you. Please reach out.
