I grew up with this track as a kid even though I was born in the 80s and this is the best live version I have come across, theres also a good message at the end
Funk+ Rock+ musicianship+Singalong fantastic!!! An absolute fucking classic!! And Tom...Such a witty entertaining perceptive artist! Thanks all concerned👍😁❤ Btw loved the "Here comes the Sun" ref😉👍
Still remember his band playing this on an after school kids show on British TV. I was knocked for six & bought it that weekend with my paper round money! (RIP Danny!)
TOM ROBINSON AND BAND Playing Undercover Festival V on Friday 8th September @Dreamland Margate And his show at Undercover is apparently the only show in the South East for 2017. We are so looking forward to the Friday headline band at Undercover Festival this year - this is Tom and the Band at Glastonbury last year and now they will be at Undercover - gonna be awesome
He's still got it, but it could do with a bit more enthusiasm and energy. The whole idea of this one is that it's a bit crazy and somewhat unpredictable - that's what makes it exciting. At least Tom does his best to be chatty and engaging. It's probably that he's played 10,000. You can't expect something that's fresh in 1978 to sound the same 38 years later.
@@neilcam No, the original guitarist was the phenomenal Danny Kustow. He died in 2019, at the age of 63. He played Les Pauls, but this guy did a pretty good job of it with his Strat.
Whenever I hear this, I'm 17 again. Fearless hero, Tom Robinson.
I met Danny Kustow's sister at the Veterinary Course at Glasgow in 1977. She was very proud of her brother the lead Guitarist.
im 12 again
Jolly Boys Outing OFAH :), that's what it make think of
@@evadarkangel5399 That was so awesome!

Rock’n’Roll hero ! Tx
Why were the Tom Robinson Band on the Introducing stage?
Cause people don't appreciate good music nowadays, really is a shame
That isn't really relevant or correct... Million of people, presumably including you, appreciate good music.
tom is heavily involved with bbc introducing
A perfect pop song.
whaldies on stage, class!
What are they doing on the Introducing stage? and they deserve a bigger crowd.
@Paul Yoxall I’m 16 and I agree they deserve so much better if u can’t hear that your deaf

It’s the better looking Andy Treacey!! Dream team! 😊
I think The Proclaimers owe Tom a few quid for their massive 500 Miles song, it’s basically this only down one click 😂😂😂

Wish danny was playing so sad
who's danny?
Danny kustow the original guitarist in the tom Robinson band his playing is brilliant very underrated guitarist

Danny Kustow, what a brilliant guitar player he was...
This song should be played on a Les Paul..
It could be that they're just introducing them to a new bunch of people that may never have heard their music, not a bad thing..

I was waiting expectedly for the amazing guitar solo to come in, like on the original and then.....oh :(
I was about to ask if it's the original guitarist playing - it does look like him (with many years on him).
