- You lead a grand civilization at the height of its influence, but can you save it from collapse? In Empire's End, 2-4 players compete to keep calamity at bay. Empire's End marries the intuitive and elegant mechanism of reverse-bidding with engine-building, long-term planning, and strategic depth.
And better yet, did I like it? Check out my overview and review here!

I just played this game at 3-player, and although I enjoyed it mechanically, I was depressed afterward. Your thoughts are spot on!
Hi, at 6:05 you've mentioned that when you take a disaster card, you have to tuck it in under the destroyed location, but I think you have to put it under an other, healthy location:
"They gain the innovation at the bottom of the disaster card, and assign it underneath a healthy location."
This way, you lose, but also gain an ability, as it can only go to healthy places!
Oh, thanks for the note! It does help with the loss.
Spot on, only played 2 players and we don't really want to revisit it
So the people I played with related to that “negative” sentiment and I agree to some extent though I don’t tend to make as much an emotional connection. My issue was the length. I played 4-player and like you said - there are a TON of disasters you have to contend with. Almost too many in my opinion. Granted, a couple players stared WAY too long at the card before making a decision to pass so that highly factored into game length. Should I revisit, I would like to try either 2 or 3.
Thanks for that perspective!
love 😊the artwork, but don't like serious bidding confrontations (silly party games ok)...wish for a building-phase only version ( multi-player solitaire tableaus like Wingspan) no hate drafting 😅 maybe just house rule it... 🤗
