LET'S PARTY!!! Rabble & Sync (Party Games for You!)
If people have played it wrong in Roll to the Top, that's a bad teach. Never seen that happen
That is interesting. Forty puzzles seems just right.
Uwe is the King.
Ordered Panda Royale on this recommendation and it was a hit at our game night last night.
thanks for suggestions for kids
You're welcome!
We bought Salton Sea and still haven't got it on the table. Devir is fantastic and we have to make time for this one.
Keep one copy of each spell you buy during a game. Put the rest back like normal and take one token for each card you returned. Before starting the next game, spend the tokens buying items from the shop's deck and discard the remaining tokens. I feel like this system makes sense. You build up your character as you progress through each year and get a tiny amount of money to buy a couple items to prepare for the next game
It sounds like a cool way to add an element of character progression!
I do not like the outlook of the game table. Is that handdrawn?
Remember the copy I've used is a prototype version. The artists for the game are many, and they've worked hard on the fantasy vibe!
Thank you so much for your great video :)
i am in.... my kind of game :)
Dubstep lmao
Everyone seems to say that they only play sprawlopolous solo. Is that the same for you?
I like playing it with others, but it's a fun solo puzzle experience.
Great list! How does Panda Royale play at 2 players?..🤔
The clear "steal" dice don't work as well with fewer player count, even with 3. Everything else works well, though.
Wow, I never even HEARD of Panda Royale... guess I need to check this one out!
Very happy to see Salton Sea, I feel like it get overlooked. Really unique and interesting list.
Hi Kimberly and Louis, I really like your list. The ones I have played, I have enjoyed, and I put the others on my list to try out. I do feel a little cheated not getting Louis' whole list. Maybe next time....
Hopefully next time we can do a full list!
Thanks for this review, have ordered panda royale and will definitely check out your other recommendations:)
Thanks for the list. So good to see you and Louis together in this video!!
Thumbs up!
Well. I picked Japan as my number 1 game of the year as well. and we also crossed over on the Cascadia Rolling Series. We must have a thing for AEG games.
Can you have new friends join for the next act? Do characters continue from act 1 to 2? Can someone join just for act 2 and then leave after that finishes?
The characters do carry over with some equipment, but there's nothing keeping you from changing the players.
Have you played Wondrous Creatures yet!? It's my #1 of 2024!
I fell in love with Panda Royale and Let's Go to Japan too! I've enjoyed Middle Ages on BGA but haven't played in person. Still need to get the Cascadia Rolling games and Wyrmspan to the table, but I'm certain I'll have a good time with them. I'm still undecided on if I want Black Forest but I have Rebirth preordered and can't wait for it to arrive!
Such a nice range of games. Heavy, light, dice-rolling, drafting, etc. Definitely will take a look at Black Forest also.
Kim - love your work, always positive and enthusiastic - have a great 2025.
Thanks for this unique list. Would appreciate a shot of the board to reference the gameplay described"
if you bring lewis on, you run the risk of his top 3 eclipsing yours, but as it is you take the Tolson crown! Delve > Forest (but only because of the lousy 2p take that stuff in forest), and Japan > Panda (imo of course) :)
Great lists! I really appreciate that you both talked about the emotions you feel during the games; that's a big factor for me and my wife; We tend to steer away from games that give us negative feelings (even when the game is great!)
Great list of games. I agree with "let's go" I love that game and have such a fun time playing that game. I love the naration part
Between cascadia rolling hills and rivers which would you choose?
Rivers:)
Really enjoyed this video. Haven't played most of these you listed. Thanks for sharing.
Hello guys! Are you playing any war board games? We are looking for a war board game that we can enjoy, if you can advise us any. Thank you and happy new year to both of you 😊
Wings for the Baron isn't a war game, per se, but it is about war and I really like that...I like war games, though. Just don't get them in the table as often:)
I ordered Lure immediately after your review. Can’t wait for it to get here! And I’m pretty sure I need to order Panda Royale now. We have 5 grandkids and are always looking for fun, simple games that allow lots of people to play. It sounds perfect for us! I think our game group at our local store will like it too. Thanks for sharing your top tens!
I love that Lure is on your list! I’ll have to check out Panda Royale.
Just played Dorf-r at xmas 2024. It is a good interpretation of the computer game, the card decks are fun. We played 1 round, got enough points to open box 1! More tiles...more tiles!!!
follwing along while looking at the Boradgamegeek pictures... Rebirth and Lets GO! Japan 'look' the best to me! Cascadia is always great.
Game of the year? I am surprised. I'm just happy I was able to order a copy. I am really looking forward to it. It looks like my kind of game. The last time I had strong vibes about a game was Tir na nog and I still love it. I think I'm even more excited about Andromeda's Edge but it's taking so long to get here. Happy gaming!
great list. I am excited to try my copy of Black Forest.
This woman is more beautiful and amazing than my wife and I need to leave my wife for her.
Panda Royale seems like it could have been made by an AI😂
I hope you had a happy new year!
Thanks for your content!
We always hand out a Finite to one of the players when we pkay year 5 or above or any of the expansions. If you're unlucky you won't get a card that takes away skulls from the locations for many, many turns, making a loss basically inevitable. Having just one care that takes away skulls guaranteed from the beginning makes the game much more balanced, we've found (and yes, we still lose about half the time so it doesnt feel like cheating).
Nice!
Is there any distinction/difference on the box that says 2nd Edition to look out for when purchasing?
Not that I can tell, but there aren't any new copies of 1st edition (sold out). Only 2nd is available. If you're buying a used copy, make sure to verify the edition.
Thanks for the overview, seems like Rabble/Monikers/Times Up are all basically the same game (Fishbowl), and small variations like separate team decks can always be introduced as a house rule with any given game. It seems to me the main distinction is the cards included in the deck which have to be guessed. Would be interesting to see a direct comparison of representative cards, Monikers seems to have more complicated and perhaps generation/culture specific cards to guess?
Yes, the main difference is the cards themselves.
I like the idea of individual stacks in the 6 market place locations (2,3,4,5,6,7+), coupled with a one shot wipeout of the initial villains if they’re too strong to begin with. I don’t think I’d do the weak to strong villain pile. :)
Just got this for my Christmas gift from a local game store! So glad you reviewed the updates.
Hmm... I'm not so sure about Jalape-No!, but Vampire Queen looks like a game I could really get my teeth into. It's a pity it's just after Christmas and money's a wee bit tight, but come next payday and I might go hunting for it! Great review of both games, but you really sold Vampire Queen to me.
Awesome!
I had been looking at this game for a while now since both my kids are musicians, bit it has been running around USD 100. I went to my FLGS annual sidewalk sale a couple of months ago to look for this game in particular and they had one copy for 50% off so I snagged it. A few minutes after we picked it up, someone else came out looking for it saying that he had been indecisive and then decided to get it. He was very nice about it and wished us the best with the game. We are trying to get it to the table over the holidays. Thank you for the fabulous review. Love the multiple paths to victory and the great solo mode. It really helped us decide to get the game. You were fantastic as always, Kimberly!!
I'm so glad you were able to get it at a great price! It's an awesome game.
I'm late finding this video, but what a clever way you ranked your Roll & Writes, using your tops was genius. I too really like Octodice, and the Clever games are super fun. I might have put the Clever 4Ever in that green pile, but the ones you selected are perfectly fine. I'd also have to add Long Shot: TDG to the green pile, a great game which I play at every possible opportunity/excuse! But I do have to ask you a question, I hope you will take a few seconds to answer a comment in a three year old video. Over your shoulder I see Crypt. I really love this game, everything about it just hits all the right buttons for me, and I'd really be curious to know your opinion of it.
Crypt is a clever, press your luck game that is fun to play. Big thumbs up here:) Thanks for the comments!
