I bought the HD version a week ago directly from the Mobapad website. It ships from China and it arrives tomorrow. Can’t wait!
X2
Are you liking It? Just ordered mine and can't wait too!
Thanks for always covering these ur reviews are always very comprehensive. I actually just got the m6 last year after seeing ur review and it exceeded my expectations. Definitely look forward to getting these as well or maybe the hd like u mentioned. Hope to see ur review soon!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the M6, they're great aren't they! Video of the M6 HD is coming this Friday 😁
Got the HD version for about two weeks now and couldn't be happier. It's honestly the best joycon alternative at the moment, in my opinion. I also have the newer NYXI but these are much better. By the way, you can replace the joycon caps with the ones that come with the Chito and M9
You sold me on the Mobapad M6 now you sold me on this too. Seriously wireless AND mechanical buttons? Hell yeah, I'm always a sucker for mechanical buttons. The hall effect joy stick is the icing on the cake. Great review as always! Now I'm gonna wait for the HD review before deciding on which one to get.
Yeah they're awesome! :D Our video of the HD versions is going up on Friday!
Definitely was looking forward to your take on these. I already ordered the HD ones & will likely paint the faceplates or do hydro dipping on them 🤔
I just saw a review for these from another creator and have been looking at them. I trust your reviews and was going to ask you to do one. What perfect timing
Thank you! Our review of the HD versions is coming this Friday! :)
wow the switch is so amazing when it comes to these options !
So they're like Split Pad Compact with more features 😊 On their website I saw they don't have the little feet the Split Pads have to relieve pressure on the Switch's screen, when you lay the Switch down. I hope that won't be a problem
I was checking these out a few days ago and they're really interesting. All the features of a standard joycon in a third party controller! Right now I'm using the Nitro Deck, the Hori compact and the 8bitdo Pro Controller. This is like all of those in one! If only it came in black.
The HD versions come in white but no black sadly. The HD versions are all I'm using now, personally!
@@128KB nice! Looking forward to that review to see what's different. I just might consider the white one and just repaint it
Sooo...
Hey, first of all.
I really liked ur videos recently. I came across ur channel by chance for a joy con alternative that had-hall effect sticks. I searched the net and found out that hall-effect sticks definitely live longer and also had considered buying the Gulikit sticks and came across these alternate joy cons. My question now is:
If the mobapad have magnetic, changeable faceplates, isn't it controversial that the hall-effect sticks are really near the faceplate magnets; like will they automatically activate because of the faceplate magnet?
Thanks in advance.
Hope you and your friends (and definitely this channel) will get more reach : )
Something to note! I just bought these, they are great! But mine came with one circular blue and one circular purple gate out of the box instead of how yours are set up here having the two blue octagonal gates. This is exactly what I wanted and I was going to pop them out and switch them but I didn't have to!
Oh that's very interesting, guess they do it at random, thanks for sharing!
is it possible for you to make a dedicated rumble comparison for these and the HD version? since thats the deciding factor for many including myself! thanks!
I also had problems with the app, have to download it from a link under the video "Effortless Mobapad M6S & M6 HD APP Configuration Tutorial for Seamless Experience!". The pc works probably only on pro controllers (chitu). I am using the android one and it is around 80% in English.
How's the vibration on these? I hope its not like a cheap cell phone like the ones on the nitro deck 😅 and more like the ones on the retroflag or like someone else said like on the gc controller.
One day we'll get a good set of Joycons that are portable, maybe even pocketable... I really wish the Switch had Joycons that made it a clamshell.
@128kb hey sorry did you say in the video that the joycons can only charge while attached to the switch and that they don’t have usb plugs?? I wanted to buy these for use with a gpd win mini pc rather than a switch so that makes my plan a bit more complicated it seems. Do you think they would charge by connecting to a different companies middle piece with a usbc plug like the doyoky ones? Also is this the same for the m6 HD too?
I'll be making a "your questions answered" video update soon, I'll answer this in there!
17:17 this is why I love my mobapad M6 - because of the turbo. Metroid Dread? Done. Diablo 3 skills of cooldown? Easy.
I’m about to pull the trigger on the M6 HD but I await the review. They might be the Joycon I’ve been waiting for…
Friday is when the M6 HD video drops. I loved these but the HD are even better...
Ive bought the pro version of these last month. Got say they are really great. Definitely way better than the Doyoky joycons that came out. Because the mobapad has a better dpad. The app on the Android part is ok. But I was able to access it. Get the back buttons programmed into the joycons also. The hall effects are pretty much the same on the doyoky, nxyi, and rhese. Caused ksilver makes them. Either way these are the best alternative joycons. In my opinion those.
Appreciate the feedback and yeah the pro versions are SO GOOD! Video coming Friday of those!
Is the non-HD rumble like the one on the mobapad purple controller? That one has a toggle for two different rumble styles and I actually prefer the non-HD one, it’s big shakey gamecube style rumble instead of the HD phone notification buzzing. If these have that kind of rumble then they’re my dream joycons.
Yeah this is a way more obvious rumble than the HD rumble for sure, much more noticeable and less subtle
@@128KBThank you for the quick answer! I’ll def pick these up, I love the pastel purple. Thanks for making these videos, you have a great channel.
@@zms330 appreciate your support 😁
They look like pretty sweet joypads..I just beat the POP demo...is that what you were playing?
Yes it is! What're your thoughts? I personally loved it, can't wait to get my physical copy later this week!
Is there any chance that shoulder button is analog? That would be awesome for some of the racing games out there that support it
Nah they're digital with mechanical switches unfortunately!
Are these better and more comfortable than Hyperion Pro?
Mate!!! You just sold me on the nyxi Hyperion…… maybe I’ll get these for my partner! She’ll like the colours
It's so hard to keep up isn't it? I swear there's new joycon alternatives every other week! These are excellent though, don't miss the HD versions too, video up Friday!
@@128KB she only plays animal crossing and Mario party so I think the S should be good aha but I’ll definitely have to think about it! Thanks mate
is there any reason for me to go HD besides the color and 2hr more battery? I like this
The HD also has HD Rumble but if you don't care for that then these are excellent!
@@128KB wow I didn't expect a reply. but what is hd rumble? I have an aftermarket pro controller and the rumble is obnoxious, but man I'm so sold I'm going to buy some hopefully it helps if I click your links!!! I love the colours too and the case travel case
I can't be the only one that's bothered by the shoulder buttons on the left being light gray/white, but the right side they're purple.
Still might get them though lol. My current Doyoky/Binbok slim have a bit of drift, and having back button is really nice cause I find pressing in the sticks to be awkward on pretty much any controller.
Definitely check out the more pro versions of these that are all white everywhere th-cam.com/video/i3yfBXTNt1g/w-d-xo.htmlsi=_QroOwzrYUwl7sYh
Can it be use for pc and other devices?
why don't they sell different colors and colored buttons/ thumb sticks!?? Guess i have to wait
Same problem here😢 with the R button. Otherwise excellent Nintendo controller ever.
the app not entirely chinese, and my M6-HD able to connect it which can update firmware or tune my joycon.
atleast, the basic configuration is in english, including fine-tuning the deadzones and your stick.
Probably the fine tuning of Macro setup since that UI is Chinese but can just use translator app to know what it is.
Also, have you tried on M6-HD to connect the app? I'm not sure if the M6s able to configure it as the app's controller/joycon selection don't have M6s, only the M6-HD.
Oh, and mine already smoothen out the rail, not stiff anymore whenever i tried to slide-in/out the joycon
Oh awesome! Thanks for confirming this, the video I saw showed the app fully in Chinese with English subtitles walking through it. Glad it's in English too, just a shame it's not on the app/play store :(
M6 S works with the app too but annoyingly I couldn't get the app to install so it didn't work with either the S or HD :(
@@128KB Well, I'm using Android so installation is really simple after downloading the app from Mobapad Website. Not sure how iOS and Windows would work.
How long does it take to fully charge?
Are these for both switches
They're definitely a solid upgrade over the official joy-cons, minus the annoyingly loud mouse-clicking effect with nearly every button. The L1/R1 & B,A,X,Y buttons don't feel like the official Pro Controllers either, and instead they lean more towards being on the squishier side which i just can't get on board with. I ended up giving them to my niece and she loves them. :P I played docked 95% of the time anyways and the Pro Controller just feels more premium and tacticle imo.
I've just ordered the NYXI Hyperion Pros, is it worth cancelling my order and going for the MOBAPADs instead?
I would say yes. NYXI quality is nowhere near as good as these
definitely, mobapad m6s literally what official joycon upgrade or pro version should have been or Hori Split pad Pro/Compact should have, only exception is dont have IR camera (which utilized very rarely) and regular rumble (which you can go opt for HD variant if you want HD rumble).
probably some would say it doesn't have halleffect analog trigger etc but thats not needed as almost no switch game requires analog trigger except...Grid autosport? but thats just one of the niche ported game to switch that still retains their analog function for the trigger
Let's just say these new MOBAPAD M6 are living on my Switch now (especially the HD version, video this Friday). These are the best I've ever tested. I'll make a comparison video soon comparing the NYXI to these.
How do they compare size-wise to the Hori Compacts? Would they likely fit in the same case?
Similar in size but the bottoms kick out more, the compacts are the same top/bottom, these are wider at the bottom. Without testing I'd say they might fit Compact cases but I'm not at the studio to test currently!
I'd also be interested to know this. They do sell a case for these though that looks very good and fits the form perfectly, without being larger than it needs to be. Probably just gonna get that
@@128KBWanna know this as well, I'm planning to buy a Hori Split Pad Compact Case if MOBAPAD M6-HD will fit it as well...😁
I think the joystick gates are interchangeable so either color can have smooth or gated joysticks
Yes they are!
Can anyone tell me the difference between the standard vs HD version? Do they really different apart?
Full video on the HD ones coming Friday. The HD ones have 2 hours more battery, OMRON mechanical switches and HD rumble.
Any idea how to adjust the vibration?
You can't as far as I'm aware 🤔 possibly in the app? I haven't been able to get the app installed so can't check yet 😭
6:36 why didn't you try? This would be a much more important feature to test than another 4 minute demo of TURBO and MACRO, which we've seen many times because it's the same in every gamepad/joycon review.
100% slipped my mind as I never play like this, apologies. I held them about 10 seconds later for independent comfort though, they're more comfortable than the JoyCons. I always cover turbo/macro etc. in case someone is watching for the first time and don't understand these features.
btw, you can use the official joycon wrist strap comes to have ease access on SL+SR
Could someone tell me what is the point of taking the joysticks of if they don't sell replacements? Or there is any somewhere and I don't know :P
The iPhone app is in English. It even has a language setting.
😱
Would you say these are better than the Nyxi Hyperion Pro? If so, by how much? Pros and cons?
Wait for my video coming this Monday! I've got a comparison against the hyperion pro (or if you become a channel member you can view it right now but no pressure!)
@@128KB oh, nice, will look forward to that! My old Hyperion, which has served me a year, just had it's right Dpad button stop working, so I'm looking for a replacement, this will help me decide!
Comparison here th-cam.com/video/zyblfMceIfc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=U4fwx1egQzvhGGZ9
Between this and nitro deck which one is more comfortable to hold?
100% these, the right stick placement on these is perfect whereas the Nitro Deck's right stick placement isn't
yes, this is actually my favorite oart on mobapad, the right stick not obstructing on my thumb anymore on facebutton.
They have similar Pro Controller layout for their button+sticks. Most of the 3rd party joycon has their right stick moved but its not much different on official joycon, still close under the facebutton specially the "B" button, not to mention facebuttons also still bit small like official one.
Afaik, Hori split Pro/Compact the only joycon that has Pro Controller layout/size but lacks features.
Can you take off the upper part of the Joysticks?
its removable, you can use the thumbstick of mobapad Chitu or M9.
Mobapad plans to release aftermarket accessories, probably they might sell thumbstick and faceplate. For now, they have Carrying case for it.
Yes the joystick caps are removable as Zrxl said!
I’m not seeing a discount from the link
Hmmm will check that out
Just checked - you have to click more payment options on product page for discount to auto apply ;)
@@128KB ok I see now. But it doesn’t work with trying to purchase the carrying case with it. I tried the code separately when trying to add the carrying case.
Do you prefer these or the original joycons witch the Satisfye grip?
These due to the larger hall effect joysticks, assignable back paddles and mechanical switches in the buttons/triggers etc!
@@128KB and for comfort/grip?
