Big thanks to Flying Eyes for sponsoring the channel! If you want to step up your sunglass game and get 10% off, use the code SPITE at: flyingeyesoptics.com/eyewear/?ref=spitescorner
If it helps at all Spite, Tuareg is pronounced like "trois"reg, but with less French. 😁 edit - ahhh, you was hamming it up a bit at the start, pronunciation is fine.
i can't tell if 36 minutes is too much or not but he definitely puts a lot of efforts in his channel. as for me i am just interested in the bike in the first place.
Everything Aprilia make is special. It's what they do! AF1 racing aren't just any old dealership, they're THE dealership/ parts developer for Aprilia. Incredible score for a partnership Spite. Congrats mate
Dude I'm so happy You're the first american moto youtuber who puts data in the metric system as well. So glad I don't always have to remember how many freedoms per burger a Newtonmeter is. Also I'm really happy that you get such great sponsors. I just had a look and you can actually get a puig windscreen for not a lot of money so I think it could be easily fixed Keep it up man
The Imperial system works better for engine specifications. Horsepower and Foot pounds of torque is way better than Watts/PS or Newtonmeters. Also Human size should be measured in FEET and POUNDS. A 6 foot tall person has a 1 foot long foot, generally. So they are actually 6 feet tall. It's an easy measurement. This is how they do it in Canada, they use some imperial and some metric. But the Metric system should be used for all other things. I want to measure my engines in horses, because that's awesome.
Super glad you've hooked up with a dealer to review their inventory. That is a win win for everyone. Congratulations on getting the sponsor too. This channel is kicking butt. Great Job!!!
Nice review! I took delivery of the first Tuareg in San Francisco, and what was quite possibly the first one delivered to a customer in California. I bought the factory baggage racks, the factory rear rack, the factory engine guard, and the factory fog lights. Since I am only 5'6" tall with a 29-inch inseam, I also bought the lower seat. My observations and experiences thus far for things you did not cover in your review: The Aprilia baggage racks are very specific for the Aprilia aluminum cases, and are too short to mount most soft-sided bags like the Wolfman bags. I ended up designing and welding my own adapters from Home Depot mild steel square tubing to securely strap the Wolfman bags, and my adapters with bags mount on the Aprilia racks. This allows me to have the convenience of removable hard-sided bags while using soft-sided bags. The Aprilia rear rack is as good as anything else on the market, and I mounted an aftermarket $169 20-inch wide aluminum diamond plate ATV box on the back. Works great at much less cost than an official Aprilia top box. On top of the top box I mounted a RotoPax gas can, and I did not feel bad about drilling holes in a $169 top box to mount it. To mount the $250 (per side!) Aprilia fog lights, one must purchase a $599 engine guard, and a $299 Fog Light Installation Kit. So I ended up spending $1400 just to mount Aprilia (Piaggio) fog lights that also fit Moto Guzzi and all sorts of other bikes. Ouch. Part of the problem is that both the dealer and I thought the $250 price for fog lights turned out to be ONE fog light, not both, necessitating another $250 order for the other side fog light. The expensive fog light installation kit is a Piaggio universal kit with a whole bunch of extra parts that are not used on the Tuareg. Finally, the installation instructions for the fog light mounting start by telling you to disassemble the upper fairing, remove the headlight, remove the back side of the instrument cluster, and remove the LEFT side lower fairing to access the fog light connector in the wiring harness. Bullshit. Those instructions are for a Moto Guzzi, and that is not clear in the instructions. For the Tuareg all one has to do is NOT install the engine guard yet, leave the upper fairing/headlight/instrument cluster alone, do not touch the left side lower fairing, and ONLY remove the RIGHT side lower fairing. The fog light connector in the factory harness is easily accessible on the RIGHT side, not the left. The connector also does not look anything like the connector shown in the Piaggio instructions. I ended up taking photos and warning the Aprilia Service Department that the instructions are wrong. If you want fog / driving lights, I recommend that you get aftermarket lights such as Clearwater Lights and mount them on the forks, or spring for the Aprila engine guard and mount the aftermarket lights on it. The factory kit is hideously expensive and comes with incorrect instructions that will totally confuse most dealer mechanics, possibly resulting in a complete and unecessary tear-down of your brand new fairing and instrument cluster. The instructions are also written in English by Italians, so beware. If you have a red or yellow Tuareg, and you order the lower seat, you lose the color coordination. The lower seat only comes in black. The single USB port on the lower left side of the instrument panel will NOT run a Garmin GPS such as the Zumo XT. The Garmin requires a 12-volt power connection, and it will not charge itself from a 5 volt USB unless it knows that it is connected to a computer. So you have to purchase the entire Garmin motorcycle install kit (another $50 to $100) with wires to go back to the motorcycle battery. This GPS install kit does not include a mount for the mounting bar on the Tuareg fairing, so you have to purchae something like the RAM ball-mount kit. Another $70. The Tuareg USB port WILL run a Garmin inReach or a phone. One or the other. I bought a motorcycle-specific Motoport double slot USB charger (off Amazon) and connected it to the Tuareg battery. This allows me to run both the phone and the inReach at the same time. The Motoport charger has an ON/OFF button so you can shut the charger off and not run your motorcycle battery down. Be aware that there are two different recommended tire pressures for the front tire, and three for the rear tire. Depends upon on-road or off-road use, and solo versus two-up riding. The Pirelli Scorpions are great road tires. In the twisties I can almost keep up with my riding buddies on sport bikes and sport tires. Off road they are OK, but as in Spite's review, they are OK on dirt/gravel roads but so-so in technical terrain. I have not tried the Tuareg on highly technical single track. At age 71 I am too old for that sh*t anymore. THIS AIN'T NO LIGHTWEIGHT DIRT BIKE. Especially if you have it loaded with gear. Buy or build an emergency jack for those times when you go down. Again, great review, Spite!
Really great to watch you in "real time" play with the settings and how they affect the ride. What is a bit frustrating as a viewer of ride reviews is the reviewer criticizing a bike's handling or suspension and never once tries any settings. Many reviewers ride bikes with adjustable suspension, criticize the handling, and never touch the clickers or mode settings etc. It doesn't take much spend a few minutes learning what is adjustable, and experimenting with ride modes, suspension adjustments etc. Thanks for that! Knocking on 100k Spite! 🙂
Aprilia makes incredible motorcycles, they just have this magic mix I can’t explain, whoever is designing the bikes and coming up with the ideas is hitting it out of the park.
Spite is such a refreshing person in the motorcycle workd that I sometimes play his videos on the background even if i’m not watching just so his view count increases. Love from the Philippines, Spite!
I just got mine a few weeks ago and love it so far. It’s funny my conclusion is the same as yours: a handful of niggles but overall a fantastic package worth the money. Quick shifter is fantastic, cruise control is a game changer, and the factory crash bars help lessen the anxiety about dropping it off road.
Would love to test ride this beast. I've actually never ridden an Aprilia in 20+ years of riding. Great video Spite, keep up the good work! Don't forget your cruiser boi roots!
Can't say this enough, but you are killing it in the presentation skills, and your research and recall are top notch. Cheers to more growth and staying community focused!
Great video Spite! I bought a Tuareg a few months ago and have put about 2k miles on it. I did have some fuel mapping issues but the last software update has really helped a lot. For any potential buyers; don’t let this being a relatively new bike scare you away. Aprilia seem to be putting in the work to make this a class leading bike. Also, props to AF1. They’re an amazing resource with lots of factory add-ons in stock and ready to ship which is waaaaaay more than my local dealer can deliver. Excellent to see you connecting with some solid partners. I couldn’t be happier for you big man. Keep it up!
Go Spite, another like for this great video. I got the 650 out in the shop right now just pulling the secondary throttles off, had to take a break from the fuel fumes and come watch your newest videos.
Dude, huge props for providing metric units! After years of watching wet weight numbers in Fahrenheit (or whatever) this puts a band aid on my soul. Also, I hope this channel soars in the future. Power to you, man!
One of the best videos on the Tuareg yet! Spite I bought this bike in May (same color!) and you are so right with everything you said! No bike is 100% perfect but there is definitely something special about this motorcycle. Feels like a cross between a sport bike/supermoto and an adventure bike, and like you said for some reason it's always making me happy. I find I've been riding much more than I normally would since owning this bike. I think the flickability of the frame is amazing and it's served me well as a commuter thus far. Keep up the good work!
My initial reaction to the looks was "Oh dear God!", but actually, I think I agree that it's got a 'look'. It's not a pretty or handsome bike, but it is definitely distinctive and is a look that grows on me. Also, one of the best sounding L2 engines I've heard in a long time. Most sound like tractor or lawnmower engines! It's very interesting that it sounds like Aprillia gave it a definite off-road bias but equipped it with Scorpion tyres, which I've always thought of as road-biased dual-sports. Fantastic to see sponsors coming on board, and AF1 supporting you, the channel has got real momentum which is very well deserved.
Love my Tuareg! I agree with the cruise control, I don't like how it blinks at you when it's armed but not set. I have no issue with the front brake as it seems like it'll stop on a dime and give you change. I like the stock seat, I'm 6'1" and I just rode 565 miles and had no pain or discomfort, I tend to slide up and back on the seat to change position every 25 miles or so. I plan to add highway pegs to the Motea crash bars I added as soon as I find a set I like. I did wrap the header pipe with some titanium header wrap back to the right foot peg and it greatly reduced the heat felt on my boot. The intake note sounds GREAT! I also added the quick shifter and I LOVE it. I will also probably add hand warmers as well. The only other dislike I have is I wish the bike had a flip-top gas cap as I don't like the one it has but it is functional. I also have a Leo Vince exhaust can that I will be adding soon. Great video, I love your channel! Keep up the good work!
@@Devastator123 I did add the Leo Vince Carbon Fiber exhaust can and it sounds amazing. I have the baffle removed and it has just the right sound, not too loud but a nice low mellow tome. I give the sound a 10 out of 10 for sure.
Video was great. A huge thing for me is you showed us the bike from many angles. I watch a Yamme noob video on some bike and I only see the bike from the side and maybe riders perspective partially. I wanna see a bike from more angle, up close, see a run from stop to highway speed. Just simple stuff. That’s why this video was one of the best I’ve seen. Very nice
Great review! I own and ride a Tenere 700. I love my T7, but I would argue that the features you get with the Tuareg make it a better value for your money at the increased price. I think the only thing that keeps me from considering the Aprila is that the closest dealership is like a 2 hour haul from me.
My opinion exactly. If aprillia had a more reliable background and larger support for their bikes I would have got one. The t7 and the cp2 will be on the road for decades to come with the amount of cp2 engines yamaha has sold and parts made in support.
Pretty sure if my name were Giovanni, I'd be riding an Italian bike. Heck I'm a Croatian / Belgium mix and ride a Beta. Closest dealer was over 2 hours away but we now have one an hour out. I'd like to see Beta make a small ADV Twin - but the price would be high, no doubt.
I have 1200 miles on mine, absolutely love it and agree with everything you've said here. I had the dealer bleed the brakes during first service and it really improved the brake feel, i dive into corners with confidence now. Also I'm 5’9“ and wear a dual sport helmet and yeah the wind buffeting is pretty annoying with the bill, will be looking into a different windscreen or something despite loving the way it looks.
Ive had my Tuareg since April 2022, and I absolutely love it. I use the TC in 1 offroad and have done a lot of gnarly stuff with it! Great bike. Love the reviews and videos Spite!
Fantastic review. I’ve been patiently waiting for a bike to come around that ticks the boxes I want from a daily motorcycle and this one seems to hit the nail on the head. Every question I had in mind, you answered. Fantastic job and thank you for your dedication to the community!
So glad to see your channel taking off Spite, the value you brought to YM channel is good karma coming back your way. I prefer the Tiger 660 sport but then again I rarely go off road. Keep em coming bud 😎
How about an ongoing list of bikes you’ve ridden in order for their “fun factor”? Because in the end that’s what it’s about, fun. I realize your fun may not be my fun, but it’s a darn good place to start and that list to me would be invaluable.
Awesome, I’m actually considering this bike right now. So I appreciate the review. Also, your channel off to a flying start! Continue to get after it, you’re doing great work here.
Hey Spite, just found your channel and been binge watching it. I am an American living in the Philippines and bought my first ADV here. I’ve always been a fan of ADV’s but my 30in inseam has put most of them out of reach for me. Not sure if the bike I have will be available there but I got a new Moto Morini X-Cape 650 and its a pretty impressive bike for the money. Fully adjustable Marzocchi forks, Brembos front and rear, KYB shock, tubeless spoked wheels, TFT display, Kawasaki licensed EN6 650, LEDS all the way around and an adjustable windshield. Mine came fully loaded with crash bars, 3 piece aluminum pannier kit, and handguards (unfortunately plastic though). If they are available there you might want to do a review on one for a beginner ADV. I’ve owned 24 other bikes in my life and this is definitely becoming one of my favorites.
Nice review. I have a Tuareg (Twah-reg) and have over 2k fun and trouble free miles. The heat you felt is from the cat on the front lower right of the header. I replaced the stocker with a aftermarket option. Heat is all but gone. I have T7 riding buddies, and they like the Tuareg more than their Yamahas. The lack of Aprilia dealers, and the Italian reliability perception are the only negatives holding this bike back from being a top seller.
Great review, and special thanks to translate the figures for old European viewers 🙏. Italian bikes and cars are definitely reliable these days:), at least mine.
just came across this video, excellent presentation as always! I actually just traded in an Africa Twin for a Tuareg and I couldn't be happier. Nice to hear you feel the same about the Tuareg vs Africa Twin.
It's good to see your previous experience in this arena is allowing you to thrive in your own space. Geep up the good work buddy. And thanks for the content for us ADV dads 🤠
Damn man! I know this is such a minor thing... but honestly, thank you for that word for the day! Superfluous; I love a good vocabulary addition! Keep up the work! Always been a fan of yours Spite. You're out here making great content. I will continue to support this channel!
BFD about the wind screen. AF1 sells several different brands, heights and tints from $104 to $157. Zero issue. I put a Puig Touring Windscreen (5" taller) on my Tuareg and it abated all wind noise and buffeting. Tuareg rules the middle weight class, including T7.
Literally made a TH-cam account just so I can subscribe your page man. Love seeing the town I work in everyday on here too, so badass of AF1 to let you demo their bikes like that. Keep up the good work 👍
We FN love you Spite, keep living your dream bud. You already helped build a massive audience now this time it's all yours baby. You FN earned all this bud don't ever forget this is your hard work paying off. F Yeah Spite.
I don’t have time to finish the video right now, but I’ve been looking at this for my new bike. I love it. I’ll be upgrading from a beginner bike next spring and this is number one on my list.
Very informative review thanks. On seeing this I visited a dealer and had a good look at the bike in the flesh, it's certainly a good looker and quality looking bike. TFT, cruise control, tubeless tyres, capable looking semi off-road tyres, adjustable long travel suspension, good ground clearance, reasonably lightweight(ish)... yeah - the seat could be a bit wider but it's the perfect size of bike for me at 6 foot 1 1/2" (187cm). It all sounds so perfect. I enquired about servicing costs, First £200 plus parts, Second £325 plus parts, Third just short of £1,000 inc parts 😲
I've seen alot of motorbike reviewers. Man I've gotta say you are the best of the best. You hit all the points and talk about what people want to hear without the fluff. That yammie noob style might work for some, but for me that word salad is too much. Continue with the good work 👍 subscribed
This video review is well done. It covered most of the important points. I would like to see more about the adjustability of the supension. Exactly as it is done (Dave Moss anyone?). Soften the suspension for paved roads, stiffen for dirt roads, and how to do it. From this review, I learned that the seat height is much too high for me at 5' 9", 28" inseam. I insist upon being able to flat foot a bike. I will keep watching until I find a couple bikes where I can flat-foot them.
Great review, been thinking of getting an adventure bike for commuting into work. Will add the Tuareg to the list. On another note, most Italian's I know are below 6 feet and it is an Italian bike.... maybe that's why the wind screen the size it is. Just saying. ;)
Man, I like your reviews! I'm not much of a motorhead and if I want details like that, you know, it's out there. I really like the jump-on-it-and-go approach, Spite. Kinda raw and cool. It is difficult to frame "normal" as a compliment, but your style speaks to me, man. You got me wanting an Aprilia lol
Good review, sounds like a good bike. I have ridden a couple of ADV bikes, and they aren't for me. they are a compromise on the road and in the dirt, which is ok if that's your thing. I have a Yamaha YZ 250 FX and an Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 RR, both are great at one thing and no good at anything else. that works best for me.
you nailed the pronunciation of the tuareg spite no need for google bro good luck and all the best in your further endeavours, respect from Macedonia. and yeah that is how we europeans are pronouncing that famous sahara people

Awesome reviewer + awesome bikes, what more can you want?
Did you add the new exhaust? And how is it?
@@Devastator123 I did add the Leo Vince Carbon Fiber exhaust can and it sounds amazing. I have the baffle removed and it has just the right sound, not too loud but a nice low mellow tome. I give the sound a 10 out of 10 for sure.
@@jsflagstad very nice! Did you add the air filter also? And where did you buy your exhaust through? Thank you also 👍
@@Devastator123 My exhaust was through a Parts-Unlimited dealer and no I have not looked at the air filter.
@@jsflagstad awesome! Thank you! Much appreciated
Spite! The editing in this video is such an amazing progress! I'm glad to see the progress and the new sponsor's! Congrats spite!! We're with you bud.
Great review Spite! It's nice to see how adjusting the bike in real time made the difference in the driving experience.
Af1 rocks. Great asset to the Aprilia community.
Truth
@AF1 Racing is one of the best dealerships! Awesome collaboration. Looking forward to seeing more from this partnership.
Very nice
I got to say, I think you doing your own thing was a huge blessing in disguise. I really liked this video. Keep up the good work.
Great review! I own and ride a Tenere 700. I love my T7, but I would argue that the features you get with the Tuareg make it a better value for your money at the increased price. I think the only thing that keeps me from considering the Aprila is that the closest dealership is like a 2 hour haul from me.
cruise control and tubeless tyres alone make it a worth considering vs the T7
My opinion exactly. If aprillia had a more reliable background and larger support for their bikes I would have got one. The t7 and the cp2 will be on the road for decades to come with the amount of cp2 engines yamaha has sold and parts made in support.
Pretty sure if my name were Giovanni, I'd be riding an Italian bike. Heck I'm a Croatian / Belgium mix and ride a Beta. Closest dealer was over 2 hours away but we now have one an hour out. I'd like to see Beta make a small ADV Twin - but the price would be high, no doubt.
Great job AF1!!! Love to see yall supporting local riders!! Spite you're killing it bro.
82k! Keep going baby! Good for you Spite
I just ordered the Puig smoke touring screen! Hopefully it helps a lot
Hell yeah glad you got ahold of this one! Keep up the great work. Another excellent quality video.
So glad to see your channel taking off Spite, the value you brought to YM channel is good karma coming back your way.
I prefer the Tiger 660 sport but then again I rarely go off road.
Keep em coming bud 😎
Woah great review! So happy to see you already have sponsors 🙏
Spite you are doing a phenomenal job! Love how your channel is growing! Keep up the good work!
Lets gooooo, sponsor and dealer connection! Killin it my guy
Thanks. I'm excited too. I've been driving the Tuareg for a year and I'm having a lot of fun with it. Best regards from Germany.
Sponsorships, your becoming a big-time youtuber mate :) Hats off.
I gotta say, i love that you involve metric specs aswell. Bigup, love your stuff!
GREAT review and congrats on the channel! (I'm late to the party) This definitely helped me make my decision to purchase one.
The guys at AF1 are top notch. Extremely helpful with my Tuono build.
Thank you Flying Eyes for hooking up with Spite
2 years on my Tuareg and I absolutely love it!
Loving this day in the saddle series. Looking forward to more!
BIG CONGRATS ON THE SPONSORSHIP BUDDY!!!
Love this style of pure first impression video showing genuine excitement for the bike. Hope you keep growing and I look forward to seeing more.
Great review, and special thanks to translate the figures for old European viewers 🙏. Italian bikes and cars are definitely reliable these days:), at least mine.
It's awesome to have videos with so much actual content and information. Almost feel like i test rode it myself. Keep up the good work
Good to hear you’re working with AF1 Spite! I’ve had Guzzis and Aprilia’s and they’re thee name for anything in the Piaggio group. Congrats!
just came across this video, excellent presentation as always!
Spite, great vids. Your laughs remind me of my childhood friend Morley. You have the exact same laughter. Thank you for existing on here.
Damn man! I know this is such a minor thing... but honestly, thank you for that word for the day! Superfluous; I love a good vocabulary addition! Keep up the work! Always been a fan of yours Spite. You're out here making great content. I will continue to support this channel!
Really cool to hear the audio difference when talking about the windscreen issue.
Great video Spite, I think I’m going to need to test ride one of these!
Keep up the good work 👍
Let’s hope Spite will create a rumble account and copies his videos there.
Really need to get away from this algorithm nonsense on TH-cam.
It warms my heart comparing your refent average views compared to… your peer’s channels! Keep it up 👍
Would be so stoked to see you do the T7! I think IT IS as good as they say!
If I can get my hands on one, I'll put together a video
@@spitescorner Come to Seattle and we've got a spare bed to sleep on and a T7 to make a video with!!

We FN love you Spite, keep living your dream bud. You already helped build a massive audience now this time it's all yours baby.
You FN earned all this bud don't ever forget this is your hard work paying off.
F Yeah Spite.
It's great that the kicking you took didn't phase you much. Loving the content and thanks.
Glad you’re getting lots of attention to your channel Spite. Always enjoyed you’re content and opinion. Keep up the great work. 👍
Great review! So happy to see your channel grow. Well deserved
Kudos for adding metric values, keep up the good work Spite!
Excellent!!! So glad u figured out a way to get access to more bikes!!! Brilliant move!!!
Dang, this guy is good at this.
Glad to see the channel growth! Great review, keep it up! 🤙🏼

Excellent videos, you're doing great work. It's nice to see tbe quick rise in subscribers
Just saying. ;)
Good looking bike 👍 Italians are usually good at aesthetics if nothing else
