I picked up the S9 and haven't looked back. I love this camera and can easily work over some it's small short commings. The output/color science I get from it is just spectacular and in the end that is what counts for me. I have used it multiple times for street photography and love it. The Auto focus is awesome and I have not had any problems with it. Honestley this camera does so much more than a lot of other cameras and that is why I bought it and plan to keep it!
This is what Lumix does... almost builds a perfect camera. Look at the GX8. (oh wow I wrote that before finishing the video). I have TWO GX8, and they only needed to do a few things to make that camera perfect. 1. Remove the filter 2. upgrade the autofocus 3. add a usb-c port that allowed you to charge it 4. add headphone and 3.5 mic jack. I really don't understand why Lumix always comes up short. I ended up getting an A7CR, and it is perfect.
@ I take this camera everywhere. It’s like a more portable version of my S5ii. I also use it as my b cam when I shoot interviews. I shot 1 hr and 34 min straight with no overheating. A viewfinder would be nice but I honestly never used the vf that much. I’ve had banding maybe twice in the 2 months I’ve had it with me everyday. Syncroscan works but it does slow down the process. I like the hybrid/crop zoom way more than I thought I would. The mp4 lite is kind of cool too. It’s 95% of the S5ii but you get hybrid zoom and mp4 lite. I actually miss those features when I’m using my S5ii.
@@MarcAdesso Those two both have the battery in the handgrip. If you look at the size of a mechanical shutter on an S5II for example it would need that extra space.. Then you lose the form factor.
@@Metro6am I still don’t think that’s right, I still think it’s likely more about rushed engineering decisions- take the Leica M11 as another example. That said, I also preferred the camera with the Sirui grip, so if making that part of the camera is what’s needed, then I’d be all for it (ala the GX8).
@@MarcAdesso Look at the size of the Leicas that have video. You're back up at S5II dimensions. It does seem like there are a lot of people who will give up a bit of size for those features but would they actually end up buying one over the Sony if that happened?
@@Metro6am what about the Q3? And I hear what you’re saying, but I think Panny provides a superior user experience and better video features than Sony, so this might be the one LUMIX that actually outsells Sony!

Just too many cutbacks. This and the manual F8 lens are just weird. All their firmware etc is amazing, but it's odd how much they took out of this, especially the shutter.
@@MarcAdesso it's such a waste cos with that form factor, just a few less cutbacks, and I'd'v'e got it tbh They really could do with some rangefinder sized lenses though, even with some more artefacts
I guess it really depends on one's needs. I had couple of Fujis, Canon R8, Sony A7C II and it's Panasonic S9 that I have most fun with. Is it limited ? Yes, but they probably cut corners to have something for version 2 when it comes out and to cut some price too. I shoot in ES mode due to silence and I didn't have any problem with rolling shutter with any of cameras that I had and I shoot my running kids all the time. Strangely I also didn't encounter any banding yet and I shot couple times in artificial light with S9. I don't need EVF as I always shoot with LCD and I didn't have any problems shooting in full sun during holiday in Spain. I don't need hot shoe as I won't use flash and I won't use microphone. I want camera to be as compact as it can be. I love LUT option which is a game changer for great SOOC for photo and video. IBIS is second to none. Size with Sigma I series or some manual Voigtlanders is basically the same as my old Fuji X-E4. Colors in my opinion are right behind Fuji, I hated working with Sony, Nikon or even Canon colors. AF is also sufficient for today's standards. I am not a fan of vlogger type screen and build quality could be better but to be honest outside of Fuji , Leica and Nikon Zf everything seems plasticky for me. I also don't get people complaining about lack of joystick. With AF tech on those new bodies tracking knows what to do most of the time and if not single tap on screen is way faster for changing subject than with joystick. So for one this camera is trash but for me it's the most fun camera I had since my Fujis.
@@MrRafalEn nice- it’s always great to find something that really gels, and I agree Panny color science is underrated, their color fidelity is excellent!
Bro, you ended your video asking Panasonic to copy another camera 😂 go buy “those” cameras. I think everyone who wants everything in a camera but doesn’t want to pay the price tag that would match, even when you realize the camera is NOT for you, but still feel a manufacturer should make it and charge as less as possible. And yes you are asking for too much. Set aside $4000.00 & Wait for the SH1 II and call it a day. You knew this camera had no EVF but you bought it anyway. The S9 is impressive just not for your application. The S9 is selling man, don’t be fooled. You really said the quality is not great 😂 this is the same image as the S5 II. I shoot paid work with these cameras and dedicated Photographers should know this camera is not for them yet they get it and complain anyway 😂.
Like I tell everyone this camera is useless garbage. It's a cellphone with removable lenses. I'm a Sony, Fuji and Lumix user so have literally no Bias towards any brand. I was so considering buying this when it was still a rumor but they literally took out all the things that make a camera a camera.
There's 2 creators that I know of, that put their s9 on FB marketplace and they were gifted this on that japan trip. Just goes to show even their creators don't believe in this camera.😅🤣

That’s great that you’re enjoying it so much!
Been shooting since launch and I’m in love. All my RNI and Cobalt presets are in the body and I’m loving it in real use.
I wish there was a way to share photos here so we could see some of those presets at work!

All the things you want would make the S9 much bigger.. you already have that in the S5II
