Brilliant vlog as always. Lovely location a few miles just down the road from me. Never stayed over though. On a great cycle route, can cycle from where I live in Derby into the centre of Nottingham along that route, mostly off road. It gets really busy in summer, especially at the weekend, rammed would be a better description. Used to take my children there back in the early 00s, with their rods and nets, watch the narrows boats and have a drink whilst relaxing the afternoon away. The tea room has been there a long time and if I rightly remember isn’t very big inside so possibly why they don’t allow dogs inside. Looking forward to your next trip vlog.
Nice video guys. Looks a great place to stopover. Love seeing how you are getting on with your Sven. We're only a few weeks from getting our MAN back from the converters so getting our final accessories together. Interested in how well the DryRobe seat covers fit, as thinking of getting a set. Also like the look of your window shades.
Lovely spot and the pub better than imagined. The tea room is also good, petite and Victorian. Good walking and cycling with Beeston, E, Sawley W, and Long Eaton N Thanks for the app tip, useful
It was called the Navigation year's ago. It's been a long while since I went and it's been improved a great deal. Trent Lock is a nice place, especially in the summer. There are great walks and cycling in both directions. Shardlow, which is a bit further west, has some great old pubs around the canal basin. The railway is a freight only line and it's not heavily used. The mainline to London from Derby is a little further away to the east.. I ought to go more often, as it's only a couple of miles west along the Trent from where i live. Great video!
Hi Will, hi Sarah and hi Roxy 😊. I very much enjoy your videos and find them well made, very informative and fun. You always manage to choose pertinent topics which makes a watch always useful. I do have one question, apologies if it has already been asked elsewhere, what is the make and model of your Campervan chairs and side table please? We are looking to buy new ones and struggling to select given the large number of choices available so are interested to know what you chose? Many thanks and all the best!
Hi! They are Isabella Loke chairs and the table is by Brunner, an Axia 4 one. We're very happy with both of these and they seem to suit our needs well. Happy travels !
We asked as we were worried too - but wasn't busy when we were there and the pub were very helpful / good about it. We also wanted to make sure everyone else in the car park could get in/out of the spaces around us too which might have been more of a struggle if we'd have parked in one space 'normally'.
Great video, looks a fab place to stay. The tea room might reconsider it's future business potential when dog owners can get a great brunch and coffee in the very welcoming pub😊. Just wondering about the transverse bed, how disruptive is it if the person sleeping nearest the rear doors gets up in the night for the facilities?😊❤🚐🐾 xx
Good question about the bed - yes it is disruptive. Sarah sleeps next to the doors but I tend to get up earlier than her anyway so it works for us. I'm older and have to get up in the night more than her !
Oooh that's a smashing looking pub!
We ordered our first campervan at the show and I can't wait for our first pub stop!
Thanks for sharing!
We life just down the road in Beeston and wasn’t aware that the pub was under new management.Looks great and will check it out 😀

We live just up m1 from Trent lock. It’s a lovely pub. I go canoeing from there and it’s a very nice walk or bike ride down to beston marina

@ that’s great, thank you 👍
Loving the cabs screens any chance of a short video on them?
I'm sure we can do something on them :)
That's not far from us. We live near Ripley in Derbyshire. Went there not long ago.
Where did you purchase your seat covers from love your vlogs 😊
We bought them from Anns Surf Cottage in Truro, as they happened to have two black ones in stock.
I take it you were hangry for food in the tea room. lol.
You bet!!
Where do you find your pub stopovers? I've looked at Britstop but doesn't seem like that many locally
We tend to use the search4sites website. Really good for just plonking on a map and filtering to pub stopovers - nice and easy (and free!)
There’s a good Facebook group with loads of recommendations
Fascinated you've used 3? Spaces in that car park. Did you ask or did you just assume?
