My dad also died of progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) in October of 1999. He also went through years of incorrect diagnoses (including depression) before finally being diagnosed with PSP. I think that was about six months before his death. My mom paid for someone to come in every day to help take care of him until she finally had to put him in a nursing home. He was a retired Air Force pilot. He was unable to speak for his last few years and was in the fetal position for several months before his death. The day before he died my mom called to tell me that the doctors said the death process had begun. In the same call she said it was just announced that Dudley Moore had PSP. They died a couple of years apart but both died at the age of sixty six. I always loved Dudley Moore but now he always reminds me of my dad and the terrible disease that took both of them.
My grandmother passed from PSP on 12-31-93. At first she was diagnosed with dementia because symptoms she was experienced related to dementia. Then came the numerous falls. She got a confirmed diagnosis of PSP from a doctor in Canada. It was a disease at the time that was very rare and mimics other health issues. It is a horrible disease to watch any person diagnosed with it go day to day to with it. Reading what your father endured is same things my grandma did. They live literally in a shell of a body they no longer are able control with their brain. My grandma unrelated to PSP lost her vision completely too. My grandfather had to hire live in help too.
If a headstone could ever be described as attractive and a great tribute then this would be that. He had some grt friends to help him at the end... Loved Dudley. Thanks
I was a high school senior when Arthur came out. My best friend and I watched it 7 times opening weekend and we went to school Monday quoting the movie. My favorite line is: Susan: it will take a woman to stop your drinking. Arthur: it would take an awfully big woman!
I grew up in NJ and spent some years in Plainfield. As I remember it, Scotch Plains was a beautiful, green suburb. Dudley picked a lovely place to be buried. Thanks for sharing his life story with us. Great job, Jordan, as usual.
Yes! I have lived in Scotch Plains for many years and love it here. Dudley was known to frequent the Charlie Brown's in Scotch Plains with his close friends. I wish I knew Jordan was in town. I would have loved to meet him in person!
My favorite Dudley Moore movie was and still is Arthur. Dudley was very lovable and funny and I was sad when I heard of his passing. I was in Marina Del Rey doing some banking one day when I happen to turn around and Dudley was standing behind me, he smiled because he knew I recognized him and of course I said hello. Great guy!
This was a beautiful tribute Jordan. As an overseas viewer, my first introduction to Dudley was back when he and Peter Cook really took the 60's by storm (I still find the 'Pete and Dud' sketches hilarious). Back then, if ever they appeared on television - the finale would always be Dudley playing the piano. He was one of those exceptionally gifted people, who brought only joy to others. Thank you Jordan for memorializing his many talents, his enthusiasm for life and, most of all, his courage. Tremendous Vlog.
Wow, I had no idea that he was buried in NJ. I live in South Jersey and it wouldn't be too long of a drive to pay my respects to him. He was a treasure. Besides the Arthur movies I loved him in the flick with Natasha Kinski(I know I butchered her last name). I never knew his life story or the particulars of how he spent his last days so thanks for sharing this info as depressing and sad as it may be.
Truly one of my all time favorite actors. I loved Dudley. What a mega talent. His success is more than a true testament to his gifts. Most people don’t succeed even when they have the full support of their parents. Dudley succeeded despite his parents suppression. He was such an extraordinary person. ❤
Jordan you are just such a treasure to watch. Your so sweet and personable your character just shines through. I’ve been watching for years and just wanted to comment.
Jordan that was lovely. I knew Dudley played piano but I didn't know he was such a phenomenal player. He was such a funny guy and it breaks my heart that he went out like that. Please keep up the good work, I enjoy your shows so much. R.I.P. Dudley😥🌹🌸🌼⚘️
I loved Dudley Moore, thank you for doing this video, Dudley, gave us a gift of laughter and sweetness in his Arthur movies. I also loved listening to his interviews. I remember watching "Ten" and "Six Weeks", he played such different characters. RIP Dudley Moore, an amazing and kind person.
I just watched you're piece on Dudley Moore which was awesome it's the 1st I hear about his friend Reyna talk about selfless. But I also watched you're story on Joan Crawford which you also hit outta the park.. always a pleasure watching ur work my friend thank you & take care of yourself.
Loved your video on Dudley’s gravesite. My mother also had this rare disease, PSP. She passed away a few months after Dudley from a fall. Swallowing issues and falls were the usual causes of death for this disease. 😢. Thanks for all of your lovely videos!! We enjoy them so much.
I’m sorry about your Mom. Before he was diagnosed, my Dad fell many, many times. And choked. He survived all that just to spend his last two years in a nursing home. Cruel fate.
Dudley is one of my all-time faves. Years before “Arthur” I loved him with Peter Cook in “Bedazzled”. Also “30 is a Dangerous Age, Cynthia”. He was an extraordinary talent and, from all accounts, a really nice guy. Thanks for sharing his story, Jordan.
Dudley Moore was most certainly known for Arthur, and it's a fantastic movie (Christopher Cross' theme song is actually one of my favorite songs of all-time). But I was introduced to Dudley through the Really Wild Animals VHS series, released by National Geographic. He voiced Spin, the "host"/animated Earth that would tell viewers all about the animals of the world. He, of course, kept up his amazing humor, with Spin making me laugh so many times. They stopped making episodes around 1997, which I think is when his illness really started to take over, and I think it's a real testament to how great he was that National Geographic never re-cast Spin and continued with the series, even though they easily could have done that. I still remember hearing the news that he died; I was 13 years old when it happened, and when they announced it on the radio, I actually yelled "No!" out loud. Thank you, Jordan, for such a great tribute to Dudley Moore.
What a brilliant man... and such Irony with his piano playing.... I cried while watching this. I guess with Matthew Perry dying recently that I'm feeling a little sensitive.... 😢😢 RIP Dudly. Thanks For All The Laughs. ❤
Wow Jordan knows his stuff, he's s one of the most underrated TH-camrs when it comes to presenting a topic, giving us the history and all the relevant info related to it, good job my man. Keep it coming, love it. ❤❤❤
❤Very nice tribute to such a talent. His characters had a sweetness and once I discovered his musical magic I was hooked! Truly my favorite jazz pianist.
Well done Jordan! Heartfelt and well put together! I still like the movie Arthur and the song from it! Thanks for reminding us how Dudley really was one very talented person
Wow, may I just say Jordan.....what a wonderful contribution to a wonderful actor.... I absolutely adored Dudley!!! Lastly, what a breathtaking place to be buried....very peaceful and well maintained!!! Jordan, thank you so much for what you do....WE LOVE YOU!!!!
Love all of Dudley movies. Arthur, Fool Play, Like Father, Like Son and Santa Claus. What an amazing and beautiful human being he was. R.I.P. Mr. Moore. Thank you Jordan for sharing.
Man, this is so sad. Dudley Moore was awesome. I loved his comedic piano playing. Reminded me of Victor Borge. It takes a really good piano player to be able to play that good and goof around at the same time. Loved him in Arthur!
You've seen Victor borga! My parents took me and my sister to see one of his concerts in my hometown - he was a trip! Thanks for the memory - haven't thought about that concert in years! Just his name brought back memories!
Thank you Jordan for your thoughtful and lovely tribute to the great Dudley Moore. I too was such a fan and recall the tragic circumstances that led to his unfortunate passing. He made the world laugh and entertained us with his brilliant piano playing and comic ability. I love any movie with him in it. I enjoy the content of your Vlogs Jordan. You are such a sweet gentleman. ✌🏽
Thank you for this lovely tribute to multitalented Dudley Moore. You have to admire a person who shares his talents and achieves success through his own persistence. For him to die of PSP was a cruel fate. Within 5 years of Dudley Moore's death, I had a family member die of progressive supranuclear palsy, and it was as if he were land being eroded away by a relentless sea. It is a dreadful disease. Thank heavens he had someone to care for him as his ability to participate in life diminished. The cemetery seemed a peaceful place, and that is a gorgeous monument. A much appreciated vlog.
Dudley Moore has such a beautiful grave. He is unforgettable and leaves behind a legacy that we still have today. Rip Dudley Moore, you are as your headstone says cherished. I wasn't aware that he was so gifted as as a musician.
Thanks Jordan! Fan of his since... the sixties! When he was a regular presence on British TV in Not Only... But Also, his show with Peter Cook. For my money, and I think others would agree, one of the all-time great comedy duos. (John Lennon famously made a cameo on that show.) Snippets of their sketches exist and can be found, even though the BBC in its wisdom wiped the actual shows. There was an LP record issued, and they also made an X-rated LP as "Derek and Clive" . They were very funny to listen to as well as watch. Dudley was a major talent on his own - brilliant comedian, comedy-pianist and real pianist, as your clips instantly show - and also as one half of Pete 'n' Dud.
Thanks, Jordan, for the great vlog. What a terrific talent he was! A lot of things you reveal I had no idea about, even though I was a fan of his work. I'm going to search out any videos on YT of Dudley playing the piano. I did know about his expertise in that field, but don't recall hearing much of his music. How wonderful that he had a close friend to love and care for him at the end. May we all be so blessed. And thanks for giving us a snippet of Jah. What a dear little buddy. It's always fun to see him.
I found your channel during the covid shutdown..I've been hooked ever since every episode is amazing no matter what the content is about just love the story telling and your love for you sidekick Jah ...Thanks Jordan be safe on your journeys .. PEACE ✌️
Jordan you were in Pennsylvania...my neck of the woods! Grew up loving Dudley. Arthur was brilliant! One of my old favorite movies. My favorite part was when Susan's father was beating him up in the church. Linda offering to make him a tuna fish sandwich and his grandmother saves them. RIP to a true entertainer.
Very talented man Very funny. Didn't know all this about him. Loved Arthur. Thanks for sharing this found it very interesting love from West Yorkshire UK 🇬🇧 💙 💚
First movie I saw him in was "Like Father Like Son" when I was little and also "Santa Claus". I always loved Dudley Moore in every movie! Thanks for this I always wondered what happened to him.
Great actor for sure! Totally hilarious in Arthur♥️😂 Just a few weeks ago I was looking to rewatch Arthur and couldn’t find it on any of my many movie apps😭 Thank you for highlighting Dudley today🥰
Another great one. Jordan it's so great how passionate you are when doing all these stories. You really make it great to watch. Keep uo the great work and I just love watching you. Can't wait for more. (No pun intended😂).
Another great share. Thank you. When my cousin was married in the 80s, after the church ceremony him and his wife were driven off in the White 1956 Rolls Royce (in both Arthur films). Today I learn-ed/earnt/found out () that Dudley Moore was an incredible Pianist 🎹.
I always thought he was so hysterical I never knew he was a piano player and it seems like he was excellent at it!! My favorite movie he played in was "Santa Claus...the movie"..... I absolutely loved that as a child!!! But sad this talented & funny man lost his life in such a way😢...... **RIP Dudley 🙏💜😢💕🙏
You absolutely hit the nail on the head. That’s exactly how I feel, like I knew him. Such a loveable man. Didn’t realise it has been so long since his passing. ❤️Jodie 🇦🇺
I fell in love with Dudley Moore’s acting back in the day. I could not get enough of his movies …he always cracked me up. Great, funny man. Rest in Peace my friend 🙏
Jordan, what a lovely tribute to Dudley, very well done. His movies were fantastic, my all time favorite is Six Weeks, it is a heavy subject but Dudley's dramatic performance is refreshing to watch. Micky & Maude is hysterical, I loved when it came out & still do (eating monkey brains 🤢). Arthur is what he will always be best known for, in my opinion. I will always enjoy his voice work in the movie Milo & Otis...to my children growing up it was one of they're favorites! I saw Dudley play the piano on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson...blew me away!!! Sorry I wrote a book, but I obviously loved & appreciated his work, thank you for such a beautiful video! Rest In Peace, Dudley.🌹
@karenleemallonee684, I couldn’t agree with you more about ‘Six Weeks.’ I’m still upset that film has never been released on DVD or BluRay. And his score for the film was absolutely beautiful! And, of course, nothing beats ‘Arthur.’ May he rest in peace!
Hi Jordan! I grew up not far from Dudley’s and Whitney’s buried spots. I was on an elevator with Dudley once in Boston he kept starring at me but I didn’t speak to him, I regret I didn’t. I did an ultrasound test on Whitney’s mom she said call me sissy everyone else does. We had a conversation regarding Elvis. A friend of mine had an Aunt who was one of the Rockettes in NYC and a publicity date. What a small world!
Two of my favorite movies with Dudley are Foul Play and Santa Claus... the Movie. I always thought he was good looking. So sad that he had to suffer through a horrible disease. I'm sure he's in heaven playing piano. R.I.P sir.
YES! “Foul Play” with Goldie Hawn and Chevy Chase. Dudley-baby with his swinging bachelor pad. He was hilarious as a supporting actor in that film. And don’t forget Burgess Meredith as the 😎 karate-chopping landlord!
Fantastic vlog!! Loved his acting & his movies! So multi talented!! The world lost a great star. Thank you for taking us along and for remembering Dudley!! Maybe he felt at peace where he's buried vs the chaotic world of Hollyweird. ;) RIP Dudley. 📿✝
I saw Arthur many, many years ago. In the clips that you showed, I laughed because I think Captain Jack Sparrow sounds a lot like him! I'm gonna have to find Arthur and watch it again. Great video, Jordan 👍
Jordan, your subject matter hit right in the Saturday matinee movie sweet spot! When I think of a rainy Saturday afternoon, I think of The Toy, Brewster Millions, and Arthur! Great stuff!
met him, or at least saw him, in Kanss city once around 1993. walking down the street and passed him. my friend goes "wasn't that Dudley Moore?!" and i look and it sure was
Hi Jordan love your vlogs. One fabulous movie where his comic genius was demonstrated as the 1978 comedy with Goldie Hawn and Chevy Chase called Fouls Play! It was a favourite of mine!
He's a real comic genius I loved him in the film Arthur but also in the film 10 and lovesick where he played a psychiatrist. I think the best part of Dudley is the basically the music that he left behind he cherished it playing the piano and stuff it was sad seeing the last interview that he did from 2020 with Barbara Walters may he rest in peace and I hope to go up to New Jersey soon to make my own video for my TH-cam channel thank you so much in making this video a big fan here of Dudley❤ thanks so much Maria Rose love your Channel
I loved this memorial to Dudley Moore. I never knew Dudley played the piano. I remember him from a movie, "Wholly Moses!" I remember it being very funny and laughing a lot. I liked it better than I did "Author." I love his headstone. It captures and celebrates the real him. Thank you for this video, Jordan.
HEY,.. JORDAN & JAH. Thank you For doing this Video because I Was never sure What he passed Away from. And Also that He was such an Awesome piano player as Well As an Actor YA ! Dudley Moore Had quite a few Good movies that I had seen but I Think The Arthur movies were my Favorite films by Him Ok you and Jah please take Care and stay safe

Add the movie called Foul Play, with Chevy Chase, Goldie Hawn, Dudley Moore, he played a orchestra conductor, with a naughty side .
That's one of my girlfriends favorite movies of his!
I love that movie!!!! 😊
Great movie!!! Kojak, bang bang!!!😂😂😂
Love that movie!
Micki & Maude
If a headstone could ever be described as attractive and a great tribute then this would be that. He had some grt friends to help him at the end... Loved Dudley. Thanks
I'm surprised that he's buried in NJ though, until I saw the part here after 16 minutes in and Jordan explains why...
I was a high school senior when Arthur came out. My best friend and I watched it 7 times opening weekend and we went to school Monday quoting the movie. My favorite line is:
Susan: it will take a woman to stop your drinking.
Arthur: it would take an awfully big woman!
Hahaha! I love that line! Those movies were so good!!
I grew up in edison he lived in south plainfield.
@@DazewithJordantheLionI need to tell you about my meeting with Catherine last wknd. Spoke highly of you.

Miss him. Sounds like a form of ALS. Thank you for keeping the memories alive.
Wow, I had no idea that he was buried in NJ. I live in South Jersey and it wouldn't be too long of a drive to pay my respects to him. He was a treasure. “Unfaithfully Yours (1984)” great movie

@karenleemallonee684, I couldn’t agree with you more about ‘Six Weeks.’ I’m still upset that film has never been released on DVD or BluRay. And his score for the film was absolutely beautiful!
And, of course, nothing beats ‘Arthur.’
May he rest in peace!
A lovely tribute to Dudley Moore, thank you Jordan. He was an amazing talent. His early comedy was very clever.
My favorite movie!!!!!!! Loved it! Thanks Jordan. ❤
What a thoughtful tribute. Thank you.
Well done Jordan! Thank you ✌🏽
Have a good weekend 🎼 🎶 🎵
Thank you, Jordan! Well researched video, great job! Very sad end for him, indeed... 😢
Nice tribute vlog Jordan! I always liked Dudley Moore growing up and watching his films. He always made me laugh and a great piano player.
Thanks Jordan, great vlog! Was thinking about him recently. Really liked him in "Unfaithfully Yours". So funny! 😂❤ RIP Dudley Moore
Great video! He and Roddy McDowell are my top two favorite actors of all time.
I saw Arthur many, many years ago. In the clips that you showed, I laughed because I think Captain Jack Sparrow sounds a lot like him! I'm gonna have to find Arthur and watch it again. Great video, Jordan 👍
Thank You for all your videos! They are heartfelt! 🤍🙏🤍
Jordan, your subject matter hit right in the Saturday matinee movie sweet spot! When I think of a rainy Saturday afternoon, I think of The Toy, Brewster Millions, and Arthur! Great stuff!
Arthur was one of my favorite movies!❤❤🐾🐾. Another great one Jordan!
met him, or at least saw him, in Kanss city once around 1993. walking down the street and passed him. my friend goes "wasn't that Dudley Moore?!" and i look and it sure was
Great video. Thanks much. I got my Jahs shirt now i can wear it while i watch.. Take care
Thanks again for sharing Jordan and Jah
Loved Dudley Moore an incredible actor lived his humor, didn’t know about the piano, what an artist, so sad for such a great guy😿😎🎶
I love the way you do videos. Frist class over the top.
Arthur, was a great movie! One of his best films.
Such an amazing talent. Dudley Moore remains one of my favorites. ❤
Jordan- great story. I loved Dudley was so funny and a great man.
I had no idea that Dudley was that good on the piano! Loved the Arthur movies, but never really knew much about him.
Thanks for the video. Dudley Miore was such a good actor. 👍
