I just discovered this video today, years after you posted. I thoroughly enjoyed it and compliment you on this nice cover. I'll look for more of your videos. If you see this, what is the make and model of the hammered dulcimer you played in the video. I am shopping for one now. Thank you.
Thank you so much! This is a chromatic hammered dulcimer, called 'Salzburger Hackbrett', a version of the dulcimer which is very common in the Alps/Austria/Bavaria. Mine was built by Harald Teller, but I'm not sure whether he still sells them, as I bought mine over 17 years ago. It has a range of G3-D6 if that's helpful.
@@TheEadgyth Thank you for your reply. I haven't seen this particular hammered dulcimer offered in the US and would love to try one in person. Since I posted, I found a few of your You Tube videos. I look forward to hearing them. Stay well.
Thanks a lot. It's always a lot of fun showing people my instrument, as even some of my friends didn't know what a hammered dulcimer was until I introduced them to it. By the way, how did you find my videos? Right now I'm kind of overwhelmed how many people seem to discover my channel today.
+TheEadgyth There was a video on Facebook of a guy called Ted Yoder who also plays the hammered dulcimer, playing Everybody Wants to Rule The World by Tears for Fears. Instantly loved the sound and came here to TH-cam to look for more videos, came across your various Coldplay covers as Clocks was one of the covers near the top of the search list I saw someone mention Adventure of a Lifetime, can we expect an upload soon? :D
Ted Yoder, he commented on my Misty Mountains Cold. Yes, I've seen that video too. Adventure of a Lifetime. I really like this song. So many requests and so few time. I'll try my best. But as I'm kind of a perfectionist it could take a while.
+TheEadgyth Are you into any metal? I'd love to see some metal covered on this instrument, can't find many videos on TH-cam, probably quite hard to replicate a metal song on this, but you play well so I guess its doable! Just asking on the offchance, I'm sure you have had plenty of requests and I don't want to inundate you further! I've subscribed so I'll be following your uploads from now on Cheers!
Awesome
Have you ever considered writing a book with your hackbrett sheet music? Because I would definitely buy it! :D
