I am amazed with that....graf handled 3 different ear with 3 compleatly ddiferent game style....no body can change their game this way.l never seen such a smart player in any field.when ever she felt some change, she took break and came back with a new standard of playing ....its awesome.
Yes and she had lost her last matches to each of them too. 1998 Eastbourne to Kournikova 1999 Sydney to Davenport 1999 Australia to Seles 1999 Tokyo to Hingis which makes it all the sweeter!
She beat the top three ranked players in the world to win her sixth title at the FO. No player had ever done that.....in any major. And that's coming back from being injured most of "97' and "98".
D G she was way past her prime, she beat them in a grand slam and her track record against them shows more wins. Steffi Graf is the greatest female tennis player of all time
@Aurangzeb Ali yes but that's not what we're talking about here. We can't keep saying steffis backhand won't be comparable to today's times just as much as we can't say Billie jean Kings style of play won't match steffis era and Helen connoly won't match billie Jean Kings era! That's not what this is about. A great tennis player is their overall presence in tennis and the impact it has made on the sport. Steffi is not only a record breaker but she is a consummate sportswoman, athlete and role model in tennis
I love this match, I love Steffi but i also like Davenport, cuz shes not Whiny and doesnt make a sound, like players of today, het forehand is next to Steffi in my opinion, when these two play, its a Slugfest😍😍😍
Como estaba el asunto de difícil ,pero Steffi hizo frente a un montón de buenísimas jugadoras y finalmente se llevó el título.Te admiro de aquí al infinito.Steffi Graf 💐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🎾
Steffi Graf a joy to watch. Brilliant court craft and a great mover. Can't think of one player in the current game who moves about the court as well as Steffi did. Would add that apart from beating the top three ranked players in the world, both Venus and Serena were seeded at this tournament. So at one end of the spectrum you had Steffi about to end her career and at the other Venus and Serena just starting out. Not enough data to come to any conclusion how their head to head rivalry would have developed. You can only assume what may or may not have happened.
@@adjaankrah542 Yes, that‘s why Kimiko Date could return and at age 39-43 beat 5 different slam winners of the early/mid-10s in 2010-14…. 😂 What do you think young peak Steffi would have done with today‘s players? Right, she would have completely destroyed those mugs!!
yessss!!! tennis is not the same ever hahahah.. look at that footwork, the elegance of her movement, great service, big forehand and even the slice backhand
People think power and speed makes a champion which is of course Serena Williams but fail to realise it takes an incredibly smart player like Steffi Graf to outlast them. She was on the last leg of her career and she still managed to beat them alongside Hingis and Davenport

Graf won more against Seles at those lost in form period, rather than Seles won more against Graf. During those times...Graf lost more to players other than Seles, but Seles keep winning against them. That's how Seles collect grandslams in 1991-1992....I think.
I personally think Steffi get better from 1993 onwards. Yes Seles gained weight and was a touch slower but Steffi began to hit her forehand much harder
@@gavinjohnson7522 It's amazing how much a knife in the back of your main rival can improve your game. It improves all areas of your game, especially your winning percentage.
@@jm7804 Yes, Steffi was only 65-8 win/loss in 1991 (including 2-0 against Seles) but 80-2 win/loss in the 12 months right after the stabbing. But how exactly was the Seles stabbing responsible for that, you stupid clown?
The sound Steffi's feet make, specially when she moves to a corner. Just beautiful. Impossible to hear today with all that screaming ;)

Steffi Graf had problems with the left knee, muscles and the back. These were the reason for her retirement in August 1999.
Dawn Davenport is eating a meatball sandwich right out in class and she's been passing notes.
In her prime time, the William sisters would definately have lost to Steffi Graf without a shadow of doubt
I remember this match vividly. Graf used her perfect movement and superior abilities on clay to win this one. Davenport got revenge a month later…
The Wimbledon final was a much closer match, though.
