I love the way your fishing occasionally coincides with everyday life. I mean, your daily agenda could be... going to the store, gonna get some shoe strings, a gallon of milk, some windshield wipers for the truck, get a hair cut, fish the creek next to the Walmart for a couple hours, go home cut the grass........etc... 🤣lol... great video and creek fish!!
I live on a small clear spring-fed creek in central Alabama. You have single-handedly improved my catch ratio of bass to panfish. I catch more 12-16 inch bass than I have in the past after watching your videos and taking your advice. I don't really subscribe to many youtubers, but you've earned mine. Not many people really target these size fish, but I am glad to find a like-minded creek wader & kayaker who targets these creek bass.
Man, I know I said before, but imma always remember you like we family because you got me through quarantine and taught me things. I've been catching fish like crazy off your vids. Never bass fished all my life. Just used to throw in and let sit. But, love yo vids bro. And thanks.
Same as me. These videos re-taught me how to fish and was able to teach my daughter (7) how to fish. We learned on little urban creeks. We were able to learn a sport and have nature as a classroom all through quarantine. He does feel like part of the family now. Fishing got us through it. Take care.
The lure size part makes a perfect point. Depending on the weather, water temps and such, bigger fish aren’t going to waste the energy on smaller baits (most of the time). They will hit bigger stuff so they don’t have to feed as often.
I use your tips and tricks all the time, and today it really paid off at the creek! I went to Wal-Mart and bought a bunch of Rebel baits (namely crickhoppers and craws/wee-craws) and caught 10 fish in under 2 hours. I can confirm the Rebel craw is just absolutely killer for creek smallmouth!
Nice creek, my son and I started creek fishing in the Chicago area and have so far caught a largemouth bass, many green sunfish, and a lot of creek chub.
Once again , a very scenic creek producing unbelievably quality bass in just a bit of water . Thanks John for another informative , entertaining video .
I noticed Catfish really turn on as water raises and starts getting muddy in creeks..Catfish will bite in places you never knew had any catfish.. They come out of the woodwork..I wouldn't believe it if I haven't experienced it!Pretty wild!Awesome vid!
I love seeing that Tennessee has clear water creeks like this, just like my home the hill country area of Texas. These types of creeks are my favorite spots for fishing because you don't need a boat and trailer, and you're typically covered by tree shade, combine that with the fact that you can throw on some crocs and wade along through the creek and it's the best way to beat the heat and enjoy the outdoors during the hot summer months.
I love watching your fishing videos man they are just awesome. I carry a fishing rod and few lures with me everywhere I go no matter if I’m at work or going on vacation or a trip to see family I got at least one rod with me but a lot of time I’ll have 3 to 4 lol you just never know when you’ll come up on some water a pond, creek, river, or lake people will laugh at me cause I’ll stop anywhere I see water that looks like there will be fish in it. Take care and be safe out there and God bless
I like the fact that you're local; you are often fishing the waters all around me (I live in Cleveland), so it's good to see tips relevant to where I fish. I started fishing along the Greenway and I've found some nice spots after watching you do it. The big downside to all that pollution in the urban areas is that it makes the fish highly suspect at best if you want to catch & keep. Still, ANY day fishing is better than...well, whatever other kind of day there is!
Good video! Great instruction and information! John, how about showing and telling us about the different style and size jigheads and hooks you use. We all can learn something. Thanks, Bro.
I agree on having as much or better luck wading downstream. Long casts to the opposite bank makes a difference so far as your sediment. Some lures seem to present better reeled upstream in current, particularly spinning baits but also ned stuff in small rivers and creeks. Sometimes it depends on your access point. There are few hard rules in fishing.
Creek fishing is a blast. I went to a little stream near my house this week, no one fishes there, and it’s just a gorgeous stream. Caught a ton of sunfish and and small mouth bass. Biggest was maybe 7-8 inches but what a blast. Now I can’t to go back and maybe find some bigger smallies
I have to be honest with ya john, if you make another awesome video.....imma watch it to. I am so addicted to your channel. Truly never saw another channel that I could watch every video... then along comes CFA... keep em coming brother. God bless.
My favorite video of yours yet. I really enjoy listening to you explain the set ups you use and why you use them. Really helps some of us to learn and better understand what setups might work better than what we’re currently using.
Was in a tiny creek behind my apartment building maybe a third the size of the one you’re in today and caught a 16-17 incher. Probably between 2-3 lbs. The smallest creeks can hold a good sized bass. Definitely worth checking one out if it’s near you
That is a pretty nice UL arsenal you got there fellow angler friend. I also prefer medium light/light rods for UL creek fishing, of the lures that hellgrammite and the Yum dingers are slayers.
. I've been using a light Jighead with the soft 3"-4" lures in small rivers all summer and also caught all types of fish. My go-to is the Keitech shinners Bait. Thanks for all your tips & sharing. I will certainly use them
At 14:22 the rod you had in your hand My brother had one of those and we was fishing the other day I picked it up bc he had a white 8th ounce rooster tail and I started throwing it I caught 1 bass before a 12.3 pound channel cat grabbed the hook and snapped the rod in 2 And to repay me for letting him snap a rod he clamped down on my thumb and shook his head hard enough he was slinging my blood everywhere
Looks like my "home creek" here in central KY aka Smallie Central. 👍🏻😎 And ditto on those Keitech Easy Shiners. Two fish and done, change 'em up. Lol Picked off some fall crappie on the 3" this morning though. Goin' back tomorrow!
Give a man a fish..you feed him for a day..teach him how to fish..you feed him for life...if you fish for men..you can put God in his life...keep it up ..I love your videos
Great videos for those of us who don’t have bass boats worth thousands of dollars. Great tips for those of us who buy a lot of our equipment from Walmart or Dick’s. Thanks.
The thank you or the tips I am trying them soon but also I was fishing rooster tail and I’m at a new creek I got a bite and. I missed it but also would have been my first creek bass
Several creeksnearme here in West Tn an avereage size would be 2-4 lbs on Largemouth Spots average just a tad smaller...had sevral upwards of 5lbs in a creek maybe 10ft wide at best
Hey man I live in Murfreesboro and was planning on trying out the hellgramites. What kind of hook or jig head do you use with them. Thank you. I love your content
Been checking out creeks near me. Water is so low. Some creeks are almost dry. Most places I have went to aren't even fishable. Hopefully we get some rain in the northeast this fall. I have been going after stripers and bluefish but prefer freshwater.
90 percent of my fishing is at the local creek. Its full of brush and weeds, hard to cast, and has tons of bass. I use 6' rods and texas rig everything
If you have wheelie bin type bin, guees stick couple inch piec of chicken out, once get little whites on there , fly eggs, pop it in a another container, inside the bin. The second container for first time would be 2l bottle with bottom cut off tights and gaffer tape type scenario, so air gets in, they cant escape. But remember dont let em sweat
Super helpful information at the end there. My heart breaks when I see things like that runoff full of trash. I have a pack of those easy shiners, I love them but they are just too soft.
I’m reading the comments and many are giving credit to this channel. So I’ll subscribe, I just bought land with a creek in the back of it. And I don’t know anything about freshwater fishing
My boys and I have recently started bass fishing the creeks here in central Texas. It's been a lot of fun as well as challenging. We have had good success using baby brush hog with watermelon flakes but now that fall has arrived things have slowed down. Does anyone have advice that may help us catch creek bass in the fall?
I wanna see a video where you try a 4 inch Zoom lizard with a 3 gauge hook. It's always worked well for me and I'm curious to see if it works for you too.
Great video as always! Please let me know what kind of wader you are using. As you know most of them are pretty expensive, would like to know some affordable ones.
From 7:10 without the word red.... Ok. John...Have you ever had your phone knocked outa your hand while watching a fishing channel. Well my chick walked in right at the start of 7:10 in your video and didn't hear the word red. 😂😂😂😂😂👍
I have that same set up!! Lol. Really not in love with the rod but that reel is great. I own 4 Lews combos. The carbon fire is a great deal. Hopefully the Lews KVD reel & Rod are available soon @ Dicks. The look Swaeet!

Bama guy here as well, our creeks and native spotted bass are some of the best creek fisheries around.
Man, I know I said before, but imma always remember you like we family because you got me through quarantine and taught me things. I've been catching fish like crazy off your vids. Never bass fished all my life. Just used to throw in and let sit. But, love yo vids bro. And thanks.

When the water was coming down ketchup pieces! Classic CFA! Stay blessed my friend from San Antonio TX!

Thanks John for taking us fishing in the creek today! Nice bass! Wow! You been pulling in some nice redear and bluegill last few videos.
Really impressed with all the people who love your Video’s
and thank you for teaching them to be better Fisherman.
Love the videos man, I do a lot of fishing in southern Indiana where I live. Lots of similar waters
Hey, Zack. I’m west of Bloomington.
@@dougalexander7204 I’ve done a little bit of fishing at Lake Monroe near there
I noticed Catfish really turn on as water raises and starts getting muddy in creeks..Catfish will bite in places you never knew had any catfish.. They come out of the woodwork..I wouldn't believe it if I haven't experienced it!Pretty wild!Awesome vid!
Wow! That was the biggest creek chub I've ever seen! Thanks! Jonesy

That’s awesome. Sometimes you just got to cast in a place to see what’s in it
Another excellent video and love you like a brother! Keep them coming as I think I can speak for everyone as to we can not get enough!!😁

Thanks again for more tips, Creek fishing can be very challenging. But once the water gets warmer, I love to go wading just shorts and boots.
Have you fished the Z-Man TRD HogZ? The ElaZ-tech baits last forever, Nikko are also great.
yes a couple times
I agree on having as much or better luck wading downstream. Long casts to the opposite bank makes a difference so far as your sediment. thats good stuff
It's almost warm enough for wading!!! Can't wait!

I knew I recognized that bass pro parking lot. I'm in Chattanooga as well. Hitting up Hiawassee for smallies tomorrow.
My favorite video of yours yet. I really enjoy listening to you explain the set ups you use and why you use them. Really helps some of us to learn and better understand what setups might work better than what we’re currently using.
Thanks for giving details at the end I always wonder why light, medium light, medium heavy I think I got a grasp now thanks.
this looks like so much fun. never fished any creeks before
Great advice. I've loved creek fishing all my life. Wish I had gotten your wisdom a long time ago. Thanks, and fish on!
That’s some of the most fun I love fishing creek like that
Nice day fishing. Thank you for the adventure.
8:16. Wow! Awesome slow motion!
i live in upstate NY i live by basically a creek fed by a creek and it's got some bass, sucker fish and a few trout
Was in a tiny creek behind my apartment building maybe a third the size of the one you’re in today and caught a 16-17 incher. Probably between 2-3 lbs. The smallest creeks can hold a good sized bass. Definitely worth checking one out if it’s near you
Nobody is better than you at catching bass in a creek good video

Dude love your vid you inspire me to catch bass
I love those big Redbreast Sunfish. Caught one over a half pound last weekend!
This was such a helpful and insightful video, as I’m brand new to fishing 🎣
NEW subscriber!
Awesome video my friend, nice fish for a creek. Good luck and God bless you
Give a man a fish..you feed him for a day..teach him how to fish..you feed him for life...if you fish for men..you can put God in his life...keep it up ..I love your videos

Nice bass . You keep me wanting to go fishing . Thanks
Thanks for the advice, I'm hoping to get in a creek in a couple days! Great video!!
Good info thanks, been looking at the lews combos .
Several creeksnearme here in West Tn an avereage size would be 2-4 lbs on Largemouth Spots average just a tad smaller...had sevral upwards of 5lbs in a creek maybe 10ft wide at best
Lots of good info here. Thank you. For the helgrammite, do you rig the hook under or up top?
Great vid brother John! Had to share it to Facebook!!
Thanks for that!
those were some MONSTER bass in that bass pro shops tank
Thanks for the tips! This is going to help my fishing game tremendously!! God bless you brother!!!
I've caught alot of bass on the baby strike king crankbait.
My top 3 picks for creeks is rebel popr. Rebel craw and zoom speed craw weightless
Hey man I live in Murfreesboro and was planning on trying out the hellgramites. What kind of hook or jig head do you use with them. Thank you. I love your content
Nice job talking about what works and why
OK John if you had to pick one lure to use for the rest of your days what would it be? Only pick one.
He's gonna say hellgrammite!
hellgrammite, it can be used so many ways or even cut down for smaller fish
Been checking out creeks near me. Water is so low. Some creeks are almost dry. Most places I have went to aren't even fishable. Hopefully we get some rain in the northeast this fall. I have been going after stripers and bluefish but prefer freshwater.
My local river used to have spots up to 20ft deep everywhere
now your lucky to find a 3 or 4 ft deep hole
90 percent of my fishing is at the local creek. Its full of brush and weeds, hard to cast, and has tons of bass. I use 6' rods and texas rig everything
Just got my new sweat shirt. Very nice!
Love that setup
John are you using a hair tie or plastic o ring with your wacky rig. You won't lose the worm so easy.
i forgot to bring them
Thanks for making this video, John! I’m hoping to get into more and more creek/river fishing this fall! Great video as well! Have a great night!
Great info John - Thanks man!
A great illustration of non point source pollution and it can affect the fish.
Love all your videos & I know your big on bass fishing , but it would be awesome to see some more catfish videos
well i have ben trying unsuccessfully the last 5 times i have tried recently
If you have wheelie bin type bin, guees stick couple inch piec of chicken out, once get little whites on there , fly eggs, pop it in a another container, inside the bin. The second container for first time would be 2l bottle with bottom cut off tights and gaffer tape type scenario, so air gets in, they cant escape. But remember dont let em sweat
If you added food colouring it will take on that colouring
God bless brother.. Stay safe out there.. And I like that reel you used in this video. How can I find one like that and do you know how much they cost
i put a link in the video description
Super helpful information at the end there. My heart breaks when I see things like that runoff full of trash. I have a pack of those easy shiners, I love them but they are just too soft.
Great video and the scripture at the end matches.👍🏽
I’m reading the comments and many are giving credit to this channel. So I’ll subscribe, I just bought land with a creek in the back of it. And I don’t know anything about freshwater fishing

We have had good success using baby brush hog with watermelon flakes but now that fall has arrived things have slowed down. Does anyone have advice that may help us catch creek bass in the fall?
i have to fish slower and usually on the bottom to get more bites as it cools down
I wanna see a video where you try a 4 inch Zoom lizard with a 3 gauge hook. It's always worked well for me and I'm curious to see if it works for you too.
Great video man.
I'm going bass fishing in creek tonight!
Awesome tips man, love the content!
thanks for the tips! good information
Great small creek fishing adventure, John! Blessings!
Love your Channel everyday God bless you buddy
Man, I wish I have creek like yours in where I'm living at.... So far I had been dock fishing and caught more via bobber fishing... ☹️
Great video as always! Please let me know what kind of wader you are using. As you know most of them are pretty expensive, would like to know some affordable ones.
Sometimes the rain 🌧️ turns the bite On! 🎣
Awsome video and good advice👍
From 7:10 without the word red.... Ok. John...Have you ever had your phone knocked outa your hand while watching a fishing channel. Well my chick walked in right at the start of 7:10 in your video and didn't hear the word red. 😂😂😂😂😂👍
Great advice. Thanks 👍🏻
I can always tell when you post a video and show the lures... My local store is always out.
New to your channel. Love the content man. Good work.
How would you compare that reel to the one that comes on the xfinity combo? I’m thinkin about getting one.
its better for sure
What size hook are you using on the swim baits? Love the videos! Keep em coming brother!
i think its like a size 1/0
Bookmarked for later. Clicked "like" now anyway. In your face!
I have that same set up!! Lol. Really not in love with the rod but that reel is great. I own 4 Lews combos. The carbon fire is a great deal. Hopefully the Lews KVD reel & Rod are available soon @ Dicks. The look Swaeet!
