Onemix is a newer chinese brand that used to be a subcontractor for Nike. They have pretty good quality and quality control as well. Obviously they're not up to the performances of some of the major brands but they're a really good budget option. Other chinese brands like Li-Ning and 361 degrees really made a lot of improvement in the last few years.
As does Health brand make a very good shoe as well being the brand contracted for the Olympic/World teams for the unsponsored runners who make the team or are unsponsored in the elite level of training. The shoes with a full carbon in sole and have a thicker Pabax midsole are more expensive, but they do have a few racing flats using same technology as a super shoe, a style used by smaller runners or those who do not like maximal shoes and carbon fiber plates are smaller/more for torsional stability and some super shoes using other cheaper very light foams but a real carbon fiber plate. also Health makes super spikes for the track as well.
Li-Ning have always been good (and expensive) though. It just feels like recently they started to try to venture into wider range of sports with their products.
@@Homobikerus Li-Ning still offers some crazy good value. I'm currently running mostly in Superlight 21 and I think it's insane that you can get a shoe like this (200g) for like 65 USD$/90CAD$.
The cheaper shoe is a knock off of “361 degrees furious future” carbon racing shoes, 361 is a legit Chinese brand. I paid roughly ¥1000=$160 USD for them.
I got a pair of 361 Flame RS a couple of weeks ago for $120AUD ($80US). No idea why they were so cheap but was from a reputable retailer and they seem solid.
Pity there was not a decent running review of the £ 49 shoes instead of wasting time on what was clearly a junk pair of shoes - this 'review ' video is rather like the £ 12 shoes - not worth the effort watching
you should try ortuseight hypersonic from Indonesia shoes maker, its only about 50 pounds or so, with real carbon and a proper running shoe from reputable Indonesia's brand
Onemix pacebeam have out lived my alphafly2 which had an air pod burst at 140 miles the onemix are at 240 miles and still look new 🤣 The yellow ones in the video have seen me run a 17min 5k 🤣🙌👌🙌

The one from China I have now is 361 Flame 3.0 to replace my Deviate Nitro 2 and it blew me away. I mean I've used better ones but for the price I paid for these, cheaper than a Pegasus or mainstream daily trainers yet I can race in these. I'm eyeing some from Xtep as well.. I've only tried a basketball shoe from Anta and a cross training shoe from Li Ning but that was way back when they weren't really well known and were very cheap to buy and ship here in the Philippines. Now that they've improved on performance and quality, become known, signed NBA stars, they're starting to get pricier. I'd get excited knowing more brands like Qiadan (brand that Micheal Jordan sued) and Camel (they got what looks like copies of Hoka Cliftons). Not sure with Onemix though and glad you tried them out.
You guys should try the first ever 100% Brazilian super shoe, Olympikus Corre Supra. Cheaper than the usual super shoe, a brand that gives Brazilians pride for how well made it is, and you’ll really be surprised with it. Also, the plate has a graphene coating for extra durability
one mix, 361, rigorer and etc are actual shoe companies so it's no surprise that shoe is actually a performer for NOT 200 ridiculous dollars. looks fantastic too
Such a good idea to review these onemix shoes. I have been a road, MTB and track cyclist since the 70's and haven't run since boarding school (I'm 62). I started running a year ago to mix up my training and was using ASICS gel which were ok but a little hard on my legs. These shoes were cheap on Ali Express. Much easier on muscles and joints and my 7 km runs have an average heart rate (around 148 bpm) with an improvement from 44 minutes (Assics) down to 41 minutes (Onemix) alternating my shoes over the last week. Thanks for the heads up I was thinking about some expensive high-end shoes, but I have exactly what I need, may try a Parkrun soon.
the trouble with these tests they don't really do what an average runner would do; we need to know yes how they feel but also how long do they feel like that in weeks later ?/ how quick do they deteriorate
That's awesome. I hope Mark does get another pair of those yellow ones and does another vid. I got a running hydration vest from ol aliexpress and actually I like it maybe a little better than my Solomon in some ways and wear it often. $15 !!!! Shipped!! There is some good stuff there.
Avoid the Chinses brand bladders and most of the bottles from Chinese brands as I have heard about them leaking non toxic just slightly bad plastic in the water/sports drinks. The packs themselves are fine As I have a clone of the old Camelback Marathoner from a brand that was going to discontinue making the model design and was last maker of said model as the better one stopped in 2022. I however wanted a backup of my Camelback Marathoner pack should I have my marathoner model die on me for some reason.
Good point. I did not get bottles or a bladder with my $15 vest. I use Ultimate Direction bottles and a Hydrapak bladder. But the vest is really good. Pockets just where i want them, fits comfortably and is more breathable than the Solomon i have. So i like it for hot days.
@@jlore6344 One I have bottle pockets are a bit small only able to fit my 10 oz waist pack Fuel Belt bottles but is able to fit my Marathoner CamelBak model of pack and should fit others of similar size. I only got becuse my CamelBak Marathoner has Velcro adjustment in the pack straps and is the major weak point. The copy is slightly smaller but for me works fine as I am small anyhow.
Honestly, if you are looking for a performance shoe at entry level price... The yellow one is impressive. But if you are a beginner, get a shoe with more cushioning/support that matches your weight/pace/stride. But one conclusion is that a Chinese brand with ambition, consistency and not willing to race to the botten could put out some great value shoes. Only thing is that would we westerners know how to spot a One Mix vs Rave Road on Aliexpress? 😅

I purchased a pair of these Onemix shoes and thankfully Aliexpress has said they will refund me. I used them for about a week. I did a couple of short 2km runs to get accustommised with them and then did a Park Run 5km and my feet were hurting at the end of the run. The shoes are totally terrible. The build quality seems quite good (on short use) but the design is a disaster. They feel like you are running in high heels. The sole at the back is very narrow, maybe I could have got a size up and I do have wide feel but my feet were literally folding over the edges of the shoe and sliding forward. As my feel slid forward then I think I was running on the front or end of the carbon plate which was digging into my foot. The shoes don't even feel nice to walk in. I am a little confused as to why GTN (tentatively) endorsed these shoes. Yes I knew there was a risk they were going to be bad. Please do not buy these shoes as they are a complete waste of money.
Here only to watch them fail running at the lower cost shoes and after the video, I went and bought myself a pair. Either it will be the best cheap super shoe investment or the worse one. Time will tell. Thank mark for making me spend more money 🤣
I think the new mens sports sneakers are a fake copy of the 361° future furious, and it's around 130£. Try chatting with Ben claridge to get some real ones. He's a sponsored 361° athlete from the uk. I've heard a lot of good reviews about 361° from their two racing shoes.
World Athletics Shoe Rules, para 10.6.1: ‘…must not contain more than one rigid structure (e.g. plate, blade etc.) whether that structure runs the full length of the shoe or only part of the length of the shoe’. And World Triathlon follows those shoe rules. So yes, Mark is right, the second rule would make the shoes illegal in pro races. Whether anyone would care in in amateur races is another matter, but technically they likely would still remain illegal. So Mark shouldn't really race in them!
