  • Of all art periods, contemporary art can be particularly challenging for museum visitors to both interpret and enjoy. How can we make contemporary art more accessible, approachable, and understandable?
In her lecture, “Engaging Museum Gowers in Contemporary Art,” Dr. Kristen Galvin (Assistant Professor of Art History, University of Colorado, Colorado Springs) addresses and facilitates discussion on how museum educators can create better interpretative strategies and questions to help promote a shift from reluctance and skepticism to wonder, for thoughtful and transformative engagement.
The annual Barbara Dague Powers Memorial Lecture is offered as part of MAG’s Docent Program and is made possible through the generosity of Randy Powers.
