Working with Meredith and performing with her and in front of her has been one of the most joyous experiences in my careeras a singer. She honored me and my Pacific Mozart Ensemble every time she came into our rehearsal hall or studio. Like Charles Ives once said, "Open your ears and listen like a man!!! " Or woman hehehe).
Remarkable! That something like this, requiring nothing remotely like instrumental or vocal technique, or genuine musical invention, can be accorded such professional regard, celebrity and status in the world of "fine and performing arts"! This is not only a different kind of music, but an altogether different notion of what music is. To appreciate it, one has to abandon all pre-conceptions about what constitutes music and musicianship. Liszt, Paganini, Chopin, Mozart, Bach -- they would have no place in this musical universe, because they have too much technique. Well, this ensemble's intonation is pretty good. They're great with pedal points.
