    Thanks. I have tiered my emergency funds that can cover up to 2 year of expenses as follows: Savings Account, Liquid Funds, Money market Funds, Arbitrage Funds, Conservative Hybrid Funds, Multi-Asset Funds, Index Fund. The last two takes on risk but would be the last to go to for emergency.

      The last four actually ... They all goes into equities ... Arbitrage may not sound buy technically they are into buying and selling equities

    Thanks a bunch. I've been reading through dozens of articles talking about emergency funds, so a lot of the things mentioned here were familiar.
    But this essay allowed me to organize all that data in a cohesive manner. 👍

    1. Savings account - with sweep in.
    2. Corporate Debt Funds
    3. Liquid Funds

    What about ELSS MF to keep emergency fund..i started in oct 2019 with 20% of my salary and keep invested till oct 2021 in mirai asset elss. Today it has given me good return on my invested amount and as per current value it is my 20 month Emergengy fund and it will still go upside.

      So your returns must be High

    • @bluepurplepink
      @bluepurplepink 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      ELSS MF are not good for emergency fund because of the 3 year lock in. Ideally an FD or Liquid/Debt Fund is better. Or you can also mix in some gold to diversify your emergency fund. The crucial thing is that it should not be too complicated and almost instantly redeemable. Plus it should survive through a severe recession like 2008 or COVID

    Agar life itni Agar se chalti toh Emergency Fund ki shayad zarurat hi na pade.
    Kyunki Agar Mein Kabhi bimar na padu.
    Agar meri job kabhi layoff na kare.
    I do admit we should have Emergency Funds but I was watching this video to get a better way of saving funds. Not dependent on Agar!!!!

    Currently I am spending like 10-15k per month as I am living with my parents(wfh)
    My annual take away salary post tds is 18-21 lakh(up and down due to bonus and conveyance)
    I do not have any liability so far. Not sure how much I would consider as an Emergency fund.
