Just so you know hantengu is no where near to Akaza's strength. There are some big gaps in power in the uppermoons, akaza way stronger than hantenu, douma way stronger then akaza and kokushibo demolishes everyone.

It took three marked slayers and genya to get him to that point, two of which died and the rest got crippling injuries. Douma was defeated only because Shinobu capitalized on his weaknesses and basically suicide bombed him. Most of his fight was him playing with his food until the poison kicked in, and after that he wasn't in prime shape. Without that, he could have regenerated his head easily.
Nezuko living in the sun isn’t just pointless plot armor, it is the first instance of a demon surviving in the sun, and that causes Muzan to start hunting her personally (Yes, the plot from now on is Michael Jackson hunting a little girl) which is the only way for them to actually find him and start the fight

It was total concentration breathing to a higher degree, so you can actively send blood to any part of the body to strengthen it. focusing the blood and sending it all to the leg muscles is what enable thunder breathers to be so fast. also he does implement it into his training. besides, thunder breathing is designed to be a one shot kill, moving at insane speeds to destroy your enemy with one strike. It would be nothing without strength and accuracy, which Tanjiro already has due to his sun breathing.

I like the idea of Nezuko eventually surviving the sun bc she's never killed anyone and refuses to drink blood so she's never sinned, but it's SOOOOOO early into the series! You can't ride the emotional roller coaster with Tanjiro if you don't get invested in Nezuko's death first. It would have diminished the scene significantly to watch Tanjiro handling his duty immediately following her sacrifice if we weren't as convinced as he was that she _was_ sacrificed.

The thing is that Upper Rank 1, The Mysterious Swordsman with the Earrings, and Sumiyoshi who was talking to that guy, none are Tanjiro's Dad. Tanjiro's father first came in Season 1, then again in the Mugen Movie, he has an orange checkers haori unlike Tanjiro and Sumiyoshi's green.

@@juub5171 It is explicitly stated that Gyutaro only cares for his sister, and thus has never pushed for a higher rank. It’s also mentioned that his sister is what keeps Gyutaro stuck at rank 6, because she is weak compared to him.
The thing about season 3 is we have a lot of questions and so many “plot armors” but these things have explanations in the later seasons. The explanations will help in making this season more fun as per my experience rereading this after the manga ended

Nezuko is still a mostly unexplained anomaly, with the only key difference in her being her refusal to succumb to the weakness which every other demon has. Namely, the desire to eat human flesh, which is not actually necessary for demons to survive, but can allow them to grow stronger, and the sun. It's likely that her first decision to reject her demonic instincts lead to her evolution, which eventually ended up in her conquering the sun. Most demons run away from their problems. They eat humans, they run away from the sun. Nezuko never ate humans, so her body would have been rapidly evolving since the beginning of the series, due to that one fact. Evolving to conquer weaknesses rather than working around them. That would be the most logical answer. Nezuko is quite literally just built different.

Tbh I like that Nezuko lived because it makes Muzan's plan even scarier. Now it involves capturing and killing Nezuko so he could conquer the sun. It makes his evil plan more personal towards Tanjiro. I feel like this season should've swapped places with the Entertainment District arc in terms of stakes. I definitely agree that Upper 6 was way more threatening than 4 and 5 combined, so it would've narratively made more sense for it to come after.
Daki + Gyuutaro >> Hantengu + Gyokko The first pair was methodically threatening, capturing , eating people and they were super scary . Daki wasn't weak at all , she was just dumb , and she was nerfed to give the kids great moments ( that one time she flew to the sky and dropped the manager to the ground, and then proceeded to fight the DS corps by standing on a roof , wtf?) ; Gyuutaro almost succeeded in killing everyone with poison regardless of his own death , until Nezuko somehow extracted the poison . The brothel siblings even have a more compelling backstory. That was the time when three Hashira should've succeeded with the help of three kids to slay two really strong yet tragic demons, not without getting mutilated. That should have been the time when those two would be forced into sunlight along with Nezuko ; we find two dying siblings lamenting and Tanjiro crying over Nezuko , but she comes back ; Muzan should've seen it through the demon siblings' eyes and set his eyes upon Nezuko. Now , Tanjiro understanding the threat , should've went to the Swordsmith village to gain a new blade and learn more about Sun breathing. Muzan now sends two demons to capture Nezuko .And in this Gyokko + Hantengu fight , the 3 boys, Genya and Kanao should have been given a chance to shine , showing that they're now ready to face the rest of the upper moons . That would be the perfect set up for them to now barge in and kill Douma , Akaza , Kokushibo and Muzan with great combined effort and a lot of sacrifices.

Gyotaru was sixth because his sister Daki made him weak and slowed him down so that’s why Gyokko was in fifth because nothing made him lag behind and he could fight more easily without caring for anything else
It's just a guess but I think it's for the final two arcs. They should need a lot of time to deliver the infinity castle arc as it is just comprised of fight scenes
Nah bro that was the biggest scandal the whole season, nezukos fake death was already terrible but Tanjiro used so many cop outs this season. Not to mention all the injury he sustained from Hantengu and the other demons and after all that he had to steal Zenitsus one and only move that took him years to master and even had a random flashback with Zenitsu 😭
@PotatoChip21 Just to clarify, Tanjiro didn't master Thunder Breathing. He just learned the basics of it, but Zen'Itsu is still far far more efficient with it than Tanjiro. He just managed to use it because he's a Sun Breather & we know every breath style come from Sun Breathing

Tanjiro as a character simply would never take a different direction. Even if his sister died, even if he grieved for a while. He would move forward, to kill Kibutsuji Muzan. To prevent this tragedy from ever happening again. And then once he dies, he would go and visit his family in the afterlife. And they would be happy again. Tanjiro might be a little less bright, but he would get over it eventually. And he would keep fighting to protect others. To kill Muzan.
Hantengu overall was actually nuts No hashira could have beaten him due to him being practically impossible to find aswell as zohakuten just being a menace alone took so much team work just to have a chance to beat him

This video was perfect every last piece of it, i laughed so hard (and nutted) and there were a lot of hype moments, but, dont say they have plot armor until seeing infinity castle arc, the fourth arc was so fucking entertaining and when its gonna be animated im gonna watch it the second its comes out❤
a lot of the destruction in the entertainment district was from tengen as well tho, not just gyutaro. not that im defending the anime with the whole "stronger demon less destruction", but im just saying, tengen was throwing those bombs everywhere for his breathing techniques and that had to have caused some of the destroyed buildings lol
Personally I think the highlights of this season were when Tanjiro uses Sun halo dragon head dance, and the final episode was also very good. I do agree with the fact that season 2 is probably better, but I did not dislike season 3 I still thought it was good.

I agree with much of what was said in this video. Just because something makes sense doesn't mean it was good storytelling. Yes the upper moons seemed weaker because multiple slayers used their marks. Yes tanjiro used thunder breathing because zenitsu told him how to do it and he has sun breathing the ancestors of all forms. Yes there were hints about nezuko reveal in the final episode throughout the season. I understand why all these things make sense and what purpose they serve but that doesn't mean i 100% enjoyed all of them. Still really liked this season though

anyone complaining about tanjiro using 'thunder breathing' just doesn't understand the power system....they don't have power, it's just sword techniques. they specialize in specific breaths that fit their capabilities/abilities best (hence why mitsuri and shinobu branched off from flame & flower respectively to create love & insect breathing, better suited for them specfically) thunder breathing is a first gen branch, coming from sun breathing. Tanjiro knows sun breathing and at this point has mastered 12/13 forms of it, why wouldn't he be able to use TC&F? I mean sun breathing literally has a form that's the same as water wheel....it's makes sense. and that's not even talking about how they're again, just sword techniques, knowing specific forms/moves with a sword doesn't mean you couldn't just use a new one if you know the basics
Yeah i agree with that theory, that they are all sword and breathing techniques and via the logic of the show tanjiro can perform another style. But i have seen a bit of a debate over wether they actually are just techniques or if they are real. For example despite what the author said there is evidence to disprove that theory, like how rengoku fifth form actually threw a projectile ( flaming tiger), or how tanjiro actually hears thunder when zenitsu uses his form, or how nezuko through the sun breathing being in their family conquered the sun. I am not sure where i stand on this argument but it's nowhere near enough to ruin thee show ffor me.

You can't ride the emotional roller coaster with Tanjiro if you don't get invested in Nezuko's death first. It would have diminished the scene significantly to watch Tanjiro handling his duty immediately following her sacrifice if we weren't as convinced as he was that she _was_ sacrificed.

Nezuko is still a mostly unexplained anomaly, with the only key difference in her being her refusal to succumb to the weakness which every other demon has.
Namely, the desire to eat human flesh, which is not actually necessary for demons to survive, but can allow them to grow stronger, and the sun.
It's likely that her first decision to reject her demonic instincts lead to her evolution, which eventually ended up in her conquering the sun.
Most demons run away from their problems. They eat humans, they run away from the sun.
Nezuko never ate humans, so her body would have been rapidly evolving since the beginning of the series, due to that one fact.
Evolving to conquer weaknesses rather than working around them.
That would be the most logical answer.
Nezuko is quite literally just built different.

Tbh I like that Nezuko lived because it makes Muzan's plan even scarier. Now it involves capturing and killing Nezuko so he could conquer the sun. It makes his evil plan more personal towards Tanjiro. I feel like this season should've swapped places with the Entertainment District arc in terms of stakes. I definitely agree that Upper 6 was way more threatening than 4 and 5 combined, so it would've narratively made more sense for it to come after.
Daki + Gyuutaro >> Hantengu + Gyokko
The first pair was methodically threatening, capturing , eating people and they were super scary . Daki wasn't weak at all , she was just dumb , and she was nerfed to give the kids great moments ( that one time she flew to the sky and dropped the manager to the ground, and then proceeded to fight the DS corps by standing on a roof , wtf?) ; Gyuutaro almost succeeded in killing everyone with poison regardless of his own death , until Nezuko somehow extracted the poison . The brothel siblings even have a more compelling backstory. That was the time when three Hashira should've succeeded with the help of three kids to slay two really strong yet tragic demons, not without getting mutilated. That should have been the time when those two would be forced into sunlight along with Nezuko ; we find two dying siblings lamenting and Tanjiro crying over Nezuko , but she comes back ; Muzan should've seen it through the demon siblings' eyes and set his eyes upon Nezuko.
Now , Tanjiro understanding the threat , should've went to the Swordsmith village to gain a new blade and learn more about Sun breathing. Muzan now sends two demons to capture Nezuko .And in this Gyokko + Hantengu fight , the 3 boys, Genya and Kanao should have been given a chance to shine , showing that they're now ready to face the rest of the upper moons .
That would be the perfect set up for them to now barge in and kill Douma , Akaza , Kokushibo and Muzan with great combined effort and a lot of sacrifices.

I agree with much of what was said in this video. Just because something makes sense doesn't mean it was good storytelling. Yes the upper moons seemed weaker because multiple slayers used their marks. Yes tanjiro used thunder breathing because zenitsu told him how to do it and he has sun breathing the ancestors of all forms. Yes there were hints about nezuko reveal in the final episode throughout the season. I understand why all these things make sense and what purpose they serve but that doesn't mean i 100% enjoyed all of them. Still really liked this season though

anyone complaining about tanjiro using 'thunder breathing' just doesn't understand the power system....they don't have power, it's just sword techniques. they specialize in specific breaths that fit their capabilities/abilities best (hence why mitsuri and shinobu branched off from flame & flower respectively to create love & insect breathing, better suited for them specfically) thunder breathing is a first gen branch, coming from sun breathing. Tanjiro knows sun breathing and at this point has mastered 12/13 forms of it, why wouldn't he be able to use TC&F? I mean sun breathing literally has a form that's the same as water wheel....it's makes sense. and that's not even talking about how they're again, just sword techniques, knowing specific forms/moves with a sword doesn't mean you couldn't just use a new one if you know the basics
Yeah i agree with that theory, that they are all sword and breathing techniques and via the logic of the show tanjiro can perform another style. But i have seen a bit of a debate over wether they actually are just techniques or if they are real. For example despite what the author said there is evidence to disprove that theory, like how rengoku fifth form actually threw a projectile ( flaming tiger), or how tanjiro actually hears thunder when zenitsu uses his form, or how nezuko through the sun breathing being in their family conquered the sun. I am not sure where i stand on this argument but it's nowhere near enough to ruin thee show ffor me.
