Those late cold war Soviet subs were darn fine looking boats. They had their issues, some worse than others, but they did look darn mean.
The only thing better than playing Sea Power, is watching a new Wolfpack video about Sea Power.
Attu Island... Aleutinians, the Arctic... that's a theater of operations where it's really hard to operate.

On an unrelated note, I'd like to be able to control the speed of my aircraft when they are engaging other aircraft.... for some reason when you engage, the aircraft automatically go to max speed. This is bad especially when I have the range advantage because I can't turn away as most long range AAMs have to be manually guided by radar to the target, so the only way I can keep my range advantage is to slow down.
Your addiction to EMCON keeps getting your ships sunk. When are you going to stop clinging to EMCON even when being under attack?
Seriously. If you’re the big swinging dick in terms of force projection you can run radar. Even if you don’t have a reading on where missiles come from you should see them at their boost phase and fire towards that if you have your air search enabled.
As a cat lady I totally broke up when you said it was like herding cats when you're trying to get your AI Harriers on track. Great stuff!😅❤

Those tail gunners in the bears are uber deadly. Ive seen them shoot down anything in range in other creator videos. Perhaps the devs over did their shooting abilities and need to tone them down a bit.

I've been having A LOT of fun with the game - hope the next update they do is for a load/save feature. Some of the scenarios are stupidly long and we're going to need the load/save feature sooner than later.
I did the "Stawberries Can Kill (Red Side)" and I was doing the scenario for 10 hours 😂
Still I LOVE the game & I'm having A LOT of fun with it.
Running carrier ops with the Orel Class aircraft carrier is probably my favorite thing to do.
Hold CTRL to drop the sonobuoy pattern from the Sea Sprite. Figured it out by accident....

Damn, these are some of the most incompetent pilots I've ever seen in a video game. They would be right at home with the Russian Second Pacific Squadron.
Yeah we now see why the anti missile defenses are so bad, all the guidance went into the radar guided bullets of that bear's tail gunner.

Wow.
I don't know if in sea power that we can control the angle of attack on aircraft. Because usually intercepting fighters in engaging bombers like the TU-95 and Early versions of B-52s have tail guns. And they usually attack above those bombers on a higher angle to avoid being hit by those guns. I guess attacking them from their six o'clock is the last thing they want to do, as those guns can engage those fighters, and those are radar guided guns too.

I dont know how underwater acoustics and sonar is modeled in the game but normally you deploy the towed array of the rear ship above the layer and the one in the front below

I love your content, wolf, that shot of the Cobras heading in was beautiful, but I have to be honest; I keep seeing you make silly mistakes and it's rather frustrating. Not personally, of course, you're awesome, but your gameplay could be improved slightly. I have some humble suggestions, but I'm just a lowly scrub, so ignore all this at your leisure...
So we know that the missiles that sank USS Nicholson came from missile boats, but had they come from a sub...
1) Identify the missile type so that you get a minimum and a maximum range, that gives you a good idea of where to start a search for subs, as you have a known line of bearing.
2) The sonobuoy search pattern you used assumes that the sub is moving underwater at 100 knots! When you have a timestamp for the missile detection, and you know when your helo will get to a previously established min or max range, figure out the time difference, then assume the sub moved away at 10 knots for that amount time, you now have a *probable* search area for the sub, instead of dropping at random.
3) Drop sonobuoys around the suspected last know position of the sub, it can't have gone far unless it went so fast you could hear it regardless, so drop a 10nm diameter circle pattern and you've probably got the sub boxed in. Keep the helo at 20ft for a chance at a MAD detection.
4) If a surface group doesn't have an airborne radar, you need at least one surface radar transmitting. EMCON only works if you have another source of ISR.
5) 17:15 One bearing on your RWR is not much help, having two separate flights up allows for quick and easy triangulation. Harriers with a SEAD loadout can specifically target radars. Those anti-radiation missiles you mentioned would have given you standoff capability against the Soviet radars.
6) 18:49 "When the enemy is in range, so are you."
This last one is role-playing only, and not important; but why target land based fuel tanks, and radars, when you plan to recapture the island? Wouldn't it be better to keep them intact so that you can use them on subsequent missions?

Does this actually model compartments in ships/subs and flooding or is it just a hit-point system?

Question wolf. I'm playing war on the sea and I can't land a hit in surface battles. Meanwhile the computer is getting hits on the 3rd or 4th volley. Any tips?

This games pretty fun but I have had a lot of trouble getting fighters to dogfight. Specifically the phantoms don’t want to chase MiGs or fire missiles at them if they’re close. Anyone know how to get around this?
If your aircraft are set to Weapons Tight, they will not fire unless you manually tell them to. If you don't want to manually tell them to fire then set them to Weapons Free. Also note that Semi-Active Radar Guided Missiles (Fox 1s) have to be guided by your aircraft to the target, meaning that they will not fire and will focus on guiding the missile to the target.

First
