I used prospector mining on Pyro as my wipe recovery plan. Did 5 mining runs and took the refined contents to Orison, almost 300k net. The biggest problem is that I exhausted my starting money paying for refining so for a while I was dead-ass broke.
My wipe recovery always starts with doing salvage in the vulture, then moving to mining once I have a few hundred k in the bank. Though this time I found i was making good fast money with my Connie doing the protect merc missions. 5-10 mins per mission at 50k each.
@@Erad_Prime "Mixed feelings" meaning terrible. 😆 I kind of wanted to mix some mining in but I think 240k minimum for a normal prospector run is where I draw the line. I was hoping an economy rebalance would bring mining up a lot more in line with salvage... Actually it should be more since there is more danger and cost involved, also more skill based and knowledge intensive.
@@Erad_Prime I went to 5 difference places trying to scope them out and wasn't too picky. Also with a stock Prospector too many rocks were impossible. Used the funds to upgrade to a helix and now fewer rocks are impossible and I can be picky about choosing higher value ores. It was about 3 hours of actual gameplay so about 100k per hour.
I played 4.0 first time, I just was flying about not really doing anything and ended up near a cluster, I approached a structure, a turret took my ship out and I EVA’d out and headed towards the structure, took about 5 mins, I found a hatch, opened it and entered the place. I entered and was walking about, weapon drawn, there where NPC’s who seen me took me down and it was all over. This was all unscripted, no loading in, seamless. It was brilliant and a real experience.
The asteroid base missions are cool. Just gotta be careful once you get deeper, the two times i got pretty deep, i got glitched into a bit of terrain and couldnt get out
I did 5 hauling contracts at once last night from Bajini to Riker Memorial. They were all small, I think in total about 75 scu. It took a while to load, because there were about 50 1 scu crates. Made a little over 200k from that. I like the fact that I can get multiple contracts to do this, but they really need to make distance more of a component to payout so there is more incentive to take longer jobs. I don't know what your total will be when you sell all the refined materials, but I would hope it ends up significantly more than what I made for a milk run.
@Ogata123 yeah, I agree, but I think it is a little too good, or, rather, it needs to be updated to put more weight into volume, distance, and danger. Right now, it doesn't seem like there is a good reason to do anything other than the shortest, smallest trips you can stack.
Did a bit of asteroid mining with a prospector in Pyro and it seemed ok. Nothing special for me either but it was plentiful in a few spots. Worth the view for sure and I feel like there's still a lot to learn about mining there. Thanks for the vid!
Great video! We’re seeing folks try out mining in pyro and the new meta has yet to reveal itself. I’ve seen a lot of reports about unscannable rocks on planets but it’s still early days.
I was down on Terminus a few days ago and not a single rock was scannable in my prospector. I've since switched to mining in the asteroid clusters near Terminus with the mole. Decent amounts of Bex, and small amount of Stil.
Havent tried mining because i dont have my prospie anymore, but ive been happy with salvage and very specific hauling missions. Plan on getting a prospie once. Ive gotten the 8 mil i need for all components
Great guide, thanks! How to you get such great zoomed far out shots? Are there any "safe" refineries in Pyro? I'd expect something to be a range ie for refining quant? Thx.
I have had to avoid the asteroid fields in pyro mining. Numerous times I’ve arrived at an asteroid field POI and there was players just chilling there waiting to kill miners. I guess I don’t understand this gameplay? They sit doing nothing then every once in a while pop some miner that can’t fight back. I can’t imagine they gain anything here? Unless maybe they are salvaging what’s left of the ship? It just seems pointless.
I've been wanting to try mining in Pyro as well. I've been making pretty good money doing panel salvage in Pyro with the vulture to give me some breathing room so maybe time to invest in some mining equipment.
Back when I played regularly a few years ago, before refining was a thing... Mining used to be my go-to for making aUEC. Judging by the state of mining... it's not very fun, and you're not going to make a buttload of aUEC doing it and it's going to take DAYS to refine it. So uh, what makes this loop even worth playing now? If base building were a thing and we NEEDED those things to build with, I'd see a point... but with the time vs. earnings... It doesn't seem particularly worthwhile to me. What am I missing here?
@@ivanbluetarski9071 But ya get the chill factor and views with panel salvaging and a lot higher payout per hour from what I can see. I haven't had time to jump into the game yet, but... Panel salvage seems to be the thing to do right now over mining. Just an observation. :) Please correct me if I'm wrong. I picked up a Vulture instead of a Prospector. Looking forward to finally having time to get my sticks set up and jump in to play some. I'll definitely hit up Pyro for some action. I'll be happy when they make the Guardian available in-game to buy, I want to snag one and go do some miner/salvager protection. :) I'll also have to find a group to crew up the Polaris with, maybe an org and go clean up some Rats. I was really hoping Engineering was going to make it for 4.0 though. Strangely, I want to be an engineer on my own Polaris. It looks like a fun bit of gameplay! :)
My aUEC-bought Prospector is due to be erased in 4.0, so no mining for me for a while. Mind you, I'd probably just stay in Stanton if I had a Prospector on my account.
i personally think that its better to buy ships with auec but i recently ccu’d to a prospector because its the most enjoyable way to farm auec atm imo and it takes wayyy to long for be to get auec for a prospector
Painless run, my advice stay far away from 4.0 during peak hours. The amount of issues is just too frustrating. Had my first server error too today. But during off hours, so smooth!
Imagine flying back across Pyro to the Stanton gate, back to Stanton, then all the ass way back to Mic-L2 just to refine. Because (wait for it).......there are refineries in Pyro too.
And the best selling prices are in Stanton… also it is thanks to people like you that pirates have gameplay content in pyro. Please do refine there :) me and the boys will be looking :)

I always say that flying a mole is like flying a bathtub full of water.

300k for 5 runs sounds like mixed feelings. Where did you go and what did you find?

I like the Mole but I feel like the Arrastra is the ship made specifically for Pyro mining. Can't wait for when it releases.
hope you are ready to wait 5-7 yrs for that ship!
@MultiFishslayer i don't own it. I have a CCU. If it comes out, great, if not, I don't care too much.

Mining - One of the more relaxing ways to make money in the verse (and my favorite one).

Once you find a good loop, the hauling is good for stacking.

Thanks for this. I haven't done much Mining since Salvaging was added but it's good to know how it's looking over in Pyro.
i was surprised to see the pyro gateway station having a refinery. not sure which others have one. maybe temporary until the refining ships are in

As an industry player I hope mining is viable in Pyro
Fun watch, I'm both a miner/salvage player AND a fighter pilot- angry logistics I call it
angry Logistics... i dig that :D
THanks for all the videos on 2024. I have enjoyed them. Have a Marry Christmas!
Great guide, thanks! How to you get such great zoomed far out shots? Are there any "safe" refineries in Pyro? I'd expect something to be a range ie for refining quant? Thx.
I would advise against refining in pyro because you’ll be an easy target for pirates
Tnx for the run through, procedures are life.
The jump point experience is awesome, hat`s off to CIG

I really need to go to pyro soon. Another solid video.
Any good guides on refining? I don't really understand all the options!

Dude, really nice interlude with the music and flying. I loved it.
Thanks scorned! All the songs are on Erad Music on TH-cam
Surprised you flew all the way back to Stanton to refine instead of doing it at Pyro, was it more expensive there?
Better sales option in Stanton
I really enjoy mining and your videos :D
Did think they be a lot more expensive amounts in pyro, Thank you for the vid
I have see a raffinery in pyro with a patch... in his name. Look on your star map you have the logo for mining before traveling
If you are refining in pyro, you are asking for trouble
