@Macs212 that's ace! I'm definitely trying that. I don't know if that says something about me that I'd sacrifice being able to see properly just to not have to get out of my seat virtually 😅
I keep meaning to go back and check out elite. I played it the month it was released but moved on and never found the time to go back. Sadly even now I don't have the time either! What's elite like nowadays?
@BattleChickenYT well i stopped playing a couple of years ago when the devs outright stated that they would be halting support on consoles, which was what i was using. Last i checked in back then, they were kind of doing what pyro is, so it might be in a useable state by now. Alternatively, there was alot of contempt with the company in regards to updates making silly changes that no one wanted. just watched a couple of new guides and i think i might give it enough shot, on pc this time.
If using the Zeus CL, the right copilot seat has the remote tractor beam. It's arguably one of the best ship mounted tractors in the game! Makes moving them boxes way easier!
Agree it's the best ine I've used so far. I just wish it could be accessed from the pilot seat. I know you can fly from the co pilot seat but it just feels wrong 😆
There always are 6 starter missions for 50k each (from station to planet). If I need fast money I just accept them. It can be done within an hour, so easy 300k.
Yeah that did work but then ran into another problem... even with my helmet off I ended up throwing hot dogs across the hangar instead of eating then 🤣
New Babbage is a no go zone right now! I don't recommend landing at NBIS if you're in a medium ship. 9/10 the hanger doors will bug for you and you will be stuck! Not sure how long until a fix will be released. Just a little tip! 😁 Merry Christmas!! 🎄
At one point I wanted to trade commodities without missions (because missions as a whole were broken lol), but you're betting your credits on no crashes or severe bugs happening (bad investment). With contracts, at least you don't invest anything at the start and unless you "abandon" it (better to "submit" it empty), no rep loss.
I had also intended to do commodities too at some point. I love the idea of doing large illegal cargo runs with an escort from pyro to stanton but now I've heard that in top of everything being broken, gasping weevil eggs are worth 20% of their original value? Every time I feel like I've found some actual fun, it dies 🤣
You are usually good with crashes now. I have not lost anything in my ship during crashes. Not saying it never happens, but not nearly as common. I did not know that about rep with submitting an empty instead of abandoning. Thanks for that tip.
Depending on if you have help loading and unloading in a smaller medium sized ship. It seems to he about on par as scrapping panels in the vulture. Looking forward to these hauling missions with the Tarus
Yeah I actually think for a time to profit ratio I think this is better if you fall lucky with the contracts. I still love salvaging though for quiet times. Oh absolutely in the taurus this will be a dream!
The awkward cargo bay and slow speed compared to the C1 is why i didn't upgrade. So my alt smuggler uses the C1 and a Taurus. Best bang for buck ships right now.
Yeah that didn't work either sadly. Neither did dropping it on the ground and picking it up as when I did pick it up from the ground, I just kept hurling it across my hangar instead of drinking 🤣
I've had my share of problems with 4.0 lost 2.5 million creds in rmc when my Reclaimer glitched in a qt jump and crashed through Yela - but like everyone I enjoy the Verse and keep coming back for more
That is absolutely brutal! We are definitely gluttons for punishment. Despites it's flaws star citizen still has more content 5 many fully released games IMO
@@BattleChickenYT That wasn't counting the other 1.5 million I lost on Christmas due to the black screen because the shard I was on crashed- but you know we just gotta keep pushing forward. The bugs just give us that extra pucker factor.
Hahahahahaha the pucker factor is real! That feeling of rolling the dice every time you QT to a location on the other side of a planet. "Will I go around or through the planet? Let's find out!"
Awesome! I actually didn't loke it when I first got it and immediately upgraded to the Connie but after coming back to it, i actually really like it! Except, as you say, the cargo grid and hatch haha
The Zeus cockpit looks a lot like the cart cockpit. Minimizing your trips will have devastating affects when you get above the junior level. Failing a mission has dire consequences on, so you would be much better off thinking about not combining missions.
Hauling with the starlancer is top tier. Honestly if you don't have an ATLS yet I'd highly recommend one. I would take that thing over a ship tractor beam any day and it's super cheap. 75k credits if I remember correctly?
With a bit more finagling the 1 high scu boxes should fit above the 8 scu's. Also I haven't had a problem with carrying cargo off-grid in the zeus, though I have yet to try it in 3.24 so can't be too sure of that now
There was a Shubin outpost (SAL-2) freight manager was locked in the top and bottom and I could not deliver and collect the freight I was supposed to do. I ultimately abandoned the hauling mission and lost reputation. So disappointed in the 4.0_PREVIEW.
I really love this loop but the amount of bugs just extremely downgrades the hauling for me 1) Planetside freight elevators are often broken 2) Some boxes are not recognized by freight elevator and they are not accepted by it 3) Some boxes will be accepted by elevator but won't register completed contract 4) Some boxes will be accepted but will register only partial delivery 5) Some boxes will be accepted but stored in outpost/station inventory instead of being delivered After many hours I'd say that the contract completion rate is about 30-40% for me, but it's still a good money
@@BattleChickenYT Feels like it's getting better each day though. I've made yesteday about 400k quite easily doing hauling and every single contract worked. I was taking small contracts from Seraphim to L1,L4 and L5 stations around and I tried not to mix up any resources from other missions (I think they have some kind of mission ID or something) so the game has less space for failing read out on cargo inputs and also clicking Submit helps a lot if the mission gets stuck at the end (sometimes it takes up to 5-10 minutes to work, just try clicking SUBMIT from time to time if mission is stuck). Very relaxing and fun loop, loving it so far Also you've got a cool paint, I have the same one :D
So the best routes so far are from the space stations to the space ports. In Arc corp had 6 missions with 78 scu and made over 500,000 currency in one run. Lots of 1 scu boxes though.
That's insane! Think I had a bad roll with the contracts and only these showed up for me at the time. I don't mind it all being 1scu if I have an atls, makes a huge difference
@ Well it did have a bad start, my Argo Lift launched me across the hangar killing me. But I think it’s mostly luck getting multiple mission at one place.
I tried that as well on the day too. I could pick it up but then I would end up launching a bottle across my hangar 😆 The dropping on the floor method just started working for me last night thankfully. No more running to the med bay!
@kalzaeth that is my most hated bug in the game. Literally powerless to do anything. At least with new Babbage you should be able to get out on the ground if you're playing with someone to get away maybe?
@sicecko it's amazing if you use it right, assuming it hasn't changed in 4.0. You can stand at an angle and use freelook to aim at a box, click it then point where you want it to go and it flings it there automatically. It was roughly 70k last time I bought it, I think 🤔
Hauling is indeed meta for money making in this build... except it took way longer than it should because the ATLS boarding animation randomly spazzes out and kills me when I try to use it... and the brand spanking new black screen of death whenever the server decides to die. It's absolutely insane that 30k server errors now are actually recoverable in less than a minute and it creates a whole new 30k that forces you to alt+f4. Same old same old, eh SC?
@@BattleChickenYT To be fair, it's only like 70+k aUEC, and that's like 2 rookie or junior hauling contracts so it wasn't such a big deal. What sucks is that it's so useful with cargo and I love using it until it straight up kills me or clips itself into an area of the hangar I can't get to lol
I've had a hangar queue a few times but thankfully not been impounded! Hopefully eith their focus for 2025 apparently being stability, things may get better
It is but I actually quite enjoy doing it by hand sometimes when I'm not in a rush to get it done and just chilling you know? Maybe it's just me but I find it weirdly relaxing 😄
I actually really like it. At first I didn't but I think that's because I had come from true multi role ships like the c1 and the taurus. If you use it for what it is, a hauler, it's pretty darn good!
I got lucky I think with the shard I was on tbh but it has felt smoother recently. I have: Ryzen 5800x 64gb 3600 RAM (recently upgraded which might be the reason) RTX 4070 Super Not a monster machine by any stretch lol
The amount you earn for these hauling missions better stay in the next patch, considering the huge increase in cost of ships when buying with in game auec cig need to increase prices for missions not decrease them. Heck the cost of everything in game has gone up, armour, weapons & ammo etc.
I think it makes sense for it to stay this way and will be grey for new players to have a safe venue to make money. I do wonder if they will bring them down just a bit. Otherwise, no one has imcentive to move further than their home planet 🤔
I'm struggling to get past member rep due to needing to make multiple stops and one or two of the stops having bugs so not being able to increase my rep so I'm trying to find member rep direct contracts to places I can actually land at .... NB is incredibly painful
Ooof that's brutal. I purposely haven't taken on any contracts with multiple stops yet for this reason. I had a feeling they'd be bugged in one way or another
I do love the look of the zeus exterior and interior, but the cargo bay drives me nuts. They had so much wasted space it's not funny. I'm debating what to upgrade it to next year.
100% with you on this. The taurus is the logical next step and I've heard they are planning to do an interior pass to bring it in line with the zeus potentially. God knows how long it will take for that though
What with everyone hanging out at Microtech? Like all the content I see out of SC if not obviously Pyro is Micro. I remember when this placed was HATED and now it's flooded with folks. Time to find a new home.
An interesting perspective and something I hadn't noticed. This is the first time I've set my home as new Babbage. I got fed up with the long skyway at orison and areas 18s elevators never bloody worked 🤣
Is the pick up location definitely the location you're currently at? I have seen some comments from people are saying the ck tracts aren't working for them. Maybe I got really lucky on this run!
I have lost count of the cargo missions i have completed and have not got paid, never mind all the other "things that I have had go wrong trying to cargo haul so do not tell me how much i can earn from hauling atm cargo hauling is not worth the effort , that is if you can get that far in to the game without launch problems and god knows what ? , the game at the moment is hardly playable and that's if your lucky to get on a reasonable server
I genuinely had no idea about the hauling mission problems until i saw some of the comments on the video. Definitely sounds like I got extremely lucky on this occasion. I've had numerous other problems but weirdly this went off without a hitch. Not a clue why 🤷♂️
Well unluckily.. For most of us these missions at the moment are horribly buggy.. Waiting 20 min for ships, waiting 10 min to be able to get hangers.. Most time system doesn't accept your delivered cargo.. Realy was unplayable.. So strayed to mine Wich was as buggy. This said.. Eptu was great
I think I got really lucky here. This was genuinely the first attempt where I didn't randomly qt into the centre of a planet/moon. I don't understand how sometimes it works well and the game is beautiful and then the next day it takes 2 hours to get out the hangar...
That's rough! Honestly this is the first play session that went relatively smoothly. My first day on 4.0 I attempted this, and a QT put me inside hurston...
My main concern now is that there won't be any incentive for people to stray further than their home planet. I'm not a meta type player but I know lots of people are. I'm happy a gameplay loop I enjoy is more worthwhile now but I worry about what it means for the wider game
I have absolutely no idea. Not joking, this is the first time I've had a playable hour on 4.0 so far and I took the opportunity to record while I could!
@ haha amazing well done and thanks for sharing. Have to admit, I’m a little jealous 😅 I deleted the game but will download it now to see if I can get it working again based on your video. Nice content and delivery btw and I liked you approach of requesting subs; “if you keep coming back and like my content”. If I do, I will. 👍
Thank you so much 🙏 really does mean a lot. There was a small update a few days after they dropped 4.0 preview branch so maybe just maybe that resolved it. But as we all know with star citizen it may have broken it more 🤣
I've seen a few people saying this. I jumped on last night and managed to do a few with no issues, though I wasn't chaining them like i did in this video. Maybe I'm just getting very lucky
Yeah it seems intermittent. I tried a run the other day and it was totally broken, did one today and stacked 7 contracts with no problems. I'd prefer it to just be totally broken than work 50% of the time 😄
Man I don't know what's going on. I had some pretty bad sessions but I recorded this and put it out in the same day and it was fine. I'm guessing i got very VERY lucky for this short space of time. Hope they sort it soon
I've had moments of good run time, but if i pick up a contract, all hell breaks loose cuase the game black screens, server crashes idk what it is. And im playing with a friend, and it's so amazing that we both get the problem at the same time🫠😂

Like using eva to load ships?
You can fly the ship from the tractor beam copilot seat if you want to do it all without getting up.
Ooooooooh I never actually tried that! That could be a game changer!
@@BattleChickenYT I think its one of the only ships that lets you do that. The flight view is less than ideal, but its better than getting up.
@Macs212 that's ace! I'm definitely trying that.
I don't know if that says something about me that I'd sacrifice being able to see properly just to not have to get out of my seat virtually 😅
@@BattleChickenYT The only reason I upgraded from the C1 was because of this, so I am right there with you lol.
Hauling was my favourite thing to do in my type 9 on elite dangerous at least before i made enough money to start asteroid cracking
I've been regularly visiting the clinics to get in the medbed just for the hydration/food
Hahahaha only semi-reliable way!
There always are 6 starter missions for 50k each (from station to planet). If I need fast money I just accept them. It can be done within an hour, so easy 300k.
Oooooh, that's cheeky! I might have to set some time aside to do that for a quick bump!
You can stack boxes on top of those 8 scu boxes. The problem is the structural struts in the middle of the ceiling make it real awkward
Good to know! As usual the zeus cargo bay causes problems yet again 😆
if you cant put food or drink into your hand from your inventory, drag and drop them to the floor and then pick them up, usually fixes the issue :)
Great tip! I did not know that at all!
Guess I didn't have to worry about that with the large hangar but that really sucks for sure.
Same to you! 🎄
They should have called that paint scheme DeWalt
Hahahahahaha that's ace!
Nice one!
They have changed the layout of the cargo on the zeus.
Merry Christmas
Love the content
when?
@@Power5 some people are saying that submitting empty tanks rep this patch. So better to ignore the mission than do anything.
Handy video, subbed :)
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it 🙏
FYI if you drop the bottle on the ground you can put it in your hands that way
Yeah i had tried that earlier but then when trying to drink it, it kept getting placed/thrown across the hangar 🤣
Was just a bad day
Yeah, was gonna say the same. Looks like med bed is your option if you don’t feel like leaving the server
As soon as the video finished I sprinted to the medical centre and got there with 2% hydration to spare 😆
Your content is very much worth a sub 😃
Thank you so much 🙏 really appreciate it
I’m liking the game play.
It would be awesome if you could filter on locations for hauling
The awkward cargo bay and slow speed compared to the C1 is why i didn't upgrade. So my alt smuggler uses the C1 and a Taurus. Best bang for buck ships right now.
Totally understand that. The zeus is purely aesthetics and no really substance. It has grown on me but it far outclassed by so many ships!
good video.....subbed
Thank you so much 🙏
Good taste on the Zeus skin, got the same one. Been hauling too definitely easiest most reliable credit in game rn.
It's so pretty!
FYI select the bottle in inventory, right click it and select "carry". then drink.
I'm running the same ship and strategy as well. Good payouts.
Genuinely amazed by the payouts on this for so little work. You think it will stay this way for long?
hey i also picked up a zeus CL good ship im liking it so far besides the cargo grid.
Awesome! I actually didn't loke it when I first got it and immediately upgraded to the Connie but after coming back to it, i actually really like it! Except, as you say, the cargo grid and hatch haha
The c1 spirit is much better for cargo .. Says 64 scu , but 120to130bis easy , more if you use the hallway space
Hauling is so chill and fun. Zeus is #1 imo for solo'ing cargo and even better with a few mates. Do you not like the tractor beam on ship?
I do like it yeah. It's definitely nice to have it even if I dint use it all the time and when I fly a ship without one, I miss it
The Zeus cockpit looks a lot like the cart cockpit.
Minimizing your trips will have devastating affects when you get above the junior level. Failing a mission has dire consequences on, so you would be much better off thinking about not combining missions.
An interesting perspective and not something I'd thought too much about to be honest. I've been super lucky with hauling being bug free for me so far
loving hauling with my starlancer , wish it had a ship tractor beam tho
Hauling with the starlancer is top tier. Honestly if you don't have an ATLS yet I'd highly recommend one. I would take that thing over a ship tractor beam any day and it's super cheap. 75k credits if I remember correctly?
@@BattleChickenYT The atlas just moves to slow in my opinion.
@dark_winter8238 agree it's super slow at movement but if you position it just right and use freelook the loading is very fast
@@BattleChickenYT ooh i need to try that
With a bit more finagling the 1 high scu boxes should fit above the 8 scu's. Also I haven't had a problem with carrying cargo off-grid in the zeus, though I have yet to try it in 3.24 so can't be too sure of that now
forgot the part where the cargo doesnt spawn or it wont count towards the mission when you deliver it
Thankfully I've not experienced this yet but I have seen a lot of comments from people saying they have. The joys of the verse 😆
Yup, I ran the same mission like 5 times wondering why I was not getting credit. The marker kept showing where I was supposed to go pick up the cargo.
There was a Shubin outpost (SAL-2) freight manager was locked in the top and bottom and I could not deliver and collect the freight I was supposed to do. I ultimately abandoned the hauling mission and lost reputation. So disappointed in the 4.0_PREVIEW.
Aw man that's rough! From what I've been reading in the comments so far it seems I had a very lucky run here and many people have been having problems
I really love this loop but the amount of bugs just extremely downgrades the hauling for me
1) Planetside freight elevators are often broken
2) Some boxes are not recognized by freight elevator and they are not accepted by it
3) Some boxes will be accepted by elevator but won't register completed contract
4) Some boxes will be accepted but will register only partial delivery
5) Some boxes will be accepted but stored in outpost/station inventory instead of being delivered
After many hours I'd say that the contract completion rate is about 30-40% for me, but it's still a good money
I've heard a lot of people have been having the same problems. I think I got extremely lucky in even just a simple run like this one...
Very relaxing and fun loop, loving it so far
Also you've got a cool paint, I have the same one :D
So the best routes so far are from the space stations to the space ports. In Arc corp had 6 missions with 78 scu and made over 500,000 currency in one run. Lots of 1 scu boxes though.
That's insane! Think I had a bad roll with the contracts and only these showed up for me at the time.
I don't mind it all being 1scu if I have an atls, makes a huge difference
@ Well it did have a bad start, my Argo Lift launched me across the hangar killing me. But I think it’s mostly luck getting multiple mission at one place.
@othnielarkaine yep that sounds like star citizen alright 😆
for drinking and eating drop them and then pick them up that worked for me
I tried that as well on the day too. I could pick it up but then I would end up launching a bottle across my hangar 😆
The dropping on the floor method just started working for me last night thankfully. No more running to the med bay!
@@BattleChickenYT glad it worked out for you at least :D now I have new babbage fully bugged for me and I can't summon anything
@kalzaeth that is my most hated bug in the game. Literally powerless to do anything. At least with new Babbage you should be able to get out on the ground if you're playing with someone to get away maybe?
@@BattleChickenYT was solo couldn't even spawn ground vehicles and finally a nice person picked me up and took me to tressler
Be interesting to see if these changes stay in place. Not sure if it encourage people to not explore
Woohoooo 🐔🌯
Havent seen the ATLS used yet. How is it compared to using the max lift?
@sicecko it's amazing if you use it right, assuming it hasn't changed in 4.0. You can stand at an angle and use freelook to aim at a box, click it then point where you want it to go and it flings it there automatically.
It was roughly 70k last time I bought it, I think 🤔
Also worth mentioning the downsides are it's animation getting in to it is slow and it moves very very slowly 😆
Oh god that sounds rough! I've not gotten around to buying the ATLS yet this wipe but it sounds lile maybe I should hold fire for a bit...
@@BattleChickenYT To be fair, it's only like 70+k aUEC, and that's like 2 rookie or junior hauling contracts so it wasn't such a big deal. What sucks is that it's so useful with cargo and I love using it until it straight up kills me or clips itself into an area of the hangar I can't get to lol
the hanger que has got me a few times the i get impounded . after that you don't get back the ship unless claim from a different location
I've had a hangar queue a few times but thankfully not been impounded!
Hopefully eith their focus for 2025 apparently being stability, things may get better
5:33 Why by hand? You got a tractor beam for your ship, right? Unless it's not the Zeuss with an integrated tractor beam.
It is but I actually quite enjoy doing it by hand sometimes when I'm not in a rush to get it done and just chilling you know? Maybe it's just me but I find it weirdly relaxing 😄
How is the Zeus? Im thinking about picking it up
I actually really like it. At first I didn't but I think that's because I had come from true multi role ships like the c1 and the taurus.
If you use it for what it is, a hauler, it's pretty darn good!
Whats your PC specs your game looks so smooth lol mines just stutters average 20-30 fps.
I got lucky I think with the shard I was on tbh but it has felt smoother recently.
I have:
Ryzen 5800x
64gb 3600 RAM (recently upgraded which might be the reason)
RTX 4070 Super
Not a monster machine by any stretch lol
Why dont you use the tractor turret - it works pretty well on the Zeus!
I did a bit later on but sometimes if I'm not in a rush I quite like doing it by hand. There's something satisfying about it and I don't know why lol
It would be nice if you could while being outside the ship call the ship and open the doors
That would be awesome!
I had a feeling they'd be bugged in one way or another
You can put the 4's on top of the 8's.
Yep worked it out the next day haha. I think the awkwardness of the zeus hatch and having to mess about with the boxes made me just give up 😆
I do love the look of the zeus exterior and interior, but the cargo bay drives me nuts.
@@BattleChickenYTsame here this wipe!
How do we deal with blackscreens? Or landing gear not working?
I haven't actually had any of those problems. Don't gey me wrong, I've had plenty of others though 😓
the cargo from the contract isn't showing up in my hangers warehouse!?
Error in title :
HAULING for BUG in 4.0 XD
Hahahahahaha 😆
Sadly these contracts never worked for me. Doesnt really matter, since my account got the lovely 60k error :)
That's rough! Honestly this is the first play session that went relatively smoothly.
My first day on 4.0 I attempted this, and a QT put me inside hurston...
@@BattleChickenYTsure, i counted 30 other players stuck with me the last time.
Hauling os bugged. If you stack missions you'll end up having one that is broken.
A lot of people are saying this and maybe I just got lucky. This is on the live preview branch and it worked for me this time 🤷♂️
i was doing twice mission 1day ago from bejing station to riker memorial on arc corp and seems to be worked just fine 200auec im down for it in 20min
This is incredibly low effort for the reward. No risk, no effort, high reward will just make this the meta.
My main concern now is that there won't be any incentive for people to stray further than their home planet. I'm not a meta type player but I know lots of people are.
I'm happy a gameplay loop I enjoy is more worthwhile now but I worry about what it means for the wider game
How are you even getting this game to work? I’ve been unable to do anything in 4.0 after numerous attempts
But as we all know with star citizen it may have broken it more 🤣
Hauling contracts stopped working, be aware
I've seen a few people saying this. I jumped on last night and managed to do a few with no issues, though I wasn't chaining them like i did in this video.
Maybe I'm just getting very lucky
@BattleChickenYT ok, you're right, it's working again
@OnlineObsessionista honestly it's hard to keep up at the moment 🤣
@@BattleChickenYT but hangar queue is literraly killing
@OnlineObsessionista oh man don't even get me started on that. I sat for 10 minutes yesterday waiting to get out of my hangar
Watching you stack boxes like it's your first time hurt to look at
Lmao 🤣 it was painful to do. Dont think I'd had enough coffee that day
Yea it’s broken. Pickup is fine but delivery doesn’t register. Just trash
Yeah it seems intermittent. I tried a run the other day and it was totally broken, did one today and stacked 7 contracts with no problems.
I'd prefer it to just be totally broken than work 50% of the time 😄
Game is almost unplayable rn 😢
Man I don't know what's going on. I had some pretty bad sessions but I recorded this and put it out in the same day and it was fine.
I'm guessing i got very VERY lucky for this short space of time.
Hope they sort it soon
I've had moments of good run time, but if i pick up a contract, all hell breaks loose cuase the game black screens, server crashes idk what it is.
And im playing with a friend, and it's so amazing that we both get the problem at the same time🫠😂
The onboard copilot seat on right of the cockpit, has a tractor beam, which is exceptional for loading. You can also fly from that seat. I’ve made a fair amount of money flying round brios, hoovering up boxes left behind without even having to land. Just hover over the boxes, switch to tractor, and hoover it up.
