This is EXACTLY what I was looking for. I want to buy a Renegade but i live i a mountainous, snowy area and needed to see how it handled something like this.
This makes me so sad that I bought the Sport 2 months ago….but I needed a new car and couldn’t wait the 3 months they were saying it would take to get one. The only one on the lot was a 2020….I do love it tho…..I just won’t be able to try anything crazy!

Dang that would be a great engine if we could get it in the states. I just got a 2021 Renegade TH with the 1.3 turbo. Great little engine, but it really should be a 2.0 litre.
@@andrewallen9432 yesterday we went the first off road little trip. The engine has lots of torque and power. Only once I used 4x4 low + mud, it was an uphill with mud and grass. No problem. Should go slow and only use the torque of 2.000 diesel. (36 kg torque)
Awesome video. These little Renegade Trailhawks are no joke. We have the Falken Wildpeak At Trail on ours. 225-65r17. Love them. I had the baby Jeep in places I never thought possible. We love ours. Take care.
I have an '18 Renegade Trailhawk with the AT Trails too. It's like that tire was meant for the Renegade. I've taken that combo through snowstorms on the Million Dollar Highway when I took a ski trip to Telluride no problems. They also performed great this February when Texas got snowed in. IMO, the AT Trail is the best crossover tire on the market right now.
Looks like a rough day... If the real off-roaders are getting stuck, that's how you know y'all may just have to find another opportunity for another group trip.
@@AWDfreak it was a mountain so the further you go the worse it gets. Everyone was amazed the renegade didn't get stuck. There was a lifted Crosstrek too and he didn't have problems either as far as I know.
Only one that I know of had snow tires. It didn't fully matter because the ones that got stuck got off the pack snow and into the deep untouched stuff which was about mid shin to thigh high.
I believe I used auto for the most part unless approaching an area that looked difficult. Then I'd switch and gas it so the system has power to manage the wheels
Lower gives the tires more footprint and better for grip but it also lowers ground clearance. So I figured 20 should do it. You can go lower but the lower you go the more risk you have the tire comes off the wheel.

Very nice. The best off road tires I owned to date has been the MT Baja Claws.
Now this is off roading

How good is Renegade then other cars on videos ? Did you drive in snow sand or mud mode?
Just traded a 2 door Rubicon for a renegade and i can honestly say i already feel i will be safer driving in the snow with renegade 😊

Yeah I think it being a lot lighter than your typical modern 4x4 helps. Driving is always part of it I stayed in the tracks and didn't have an issue.

Did all have proper Snow-tires, or were You the only one? (Or, did You all go with M+S tires?)

I have a 2018 jeep renegade latitude, would my vehicle be ok to drive on ice fishing lakes with a small ice shack being pulled onto the frozen lake?
I'm not sure. Are the proper tires available on the Renegades for ice driving?

It's night and day difference from 35psi to 18 psi . Tripled the grip
